Chapter 396: Chapter 396: Why Only Argue and Not Fight?
Blaze strained his ears, trying to eavesdrop.
âWhat are they talking about?â
[So why did Blaze steal Thunderboltâs mates?]
[Yeah, yeah, I want to know too!]
[Maybe Thunderboltâs mates are prettier than Blazeâs?]
Renee saw the stream comments were all curious about why Blaze stole Thunderboltâs mates. She raised an eyebrow. "Honestly, I donât know why Blaze did it either," she said. "Maybe he just wants Thunderbolt to be alone for the rest of his life?"
âTheyâre saying my name again!â
Blaze was overcome with curiosity, a feeling like a thousand feathers tickling him.
His paws crept closer unconsciously.
[Host, havenât you asked Blaze?]
[Renee, ask Blaze now~~~]
Renee looked up and saw that the lion in question was getting closer and closer.
She didnât know Blaze well. They had never spoken a word to each other.
Thunderbolt also noticed Blaze approaching, and his golden eyes instantly fixed on him with vigilance.
Seeing this, Blaze offered a rare explanation. "Thunderbolt, Iâm not here for you. Donât look at me like that."
"Then who are you here for?" Thunderbolt asked.
Blaze didnât answer, but his curious gaze landed squarely on Renee.
"...Are you here for me?" Renee asked tentatively.
Blaze didnât answer her question directly. Instead, he said, "I thought I just heard you say my name. What were you saying about me?"
"You have excellent hearing," Renee said with a smile. "We were, in fact, talking about you."
Hearing this, Blazeâs amber eyes narrowed. He quickly padded toward her. "Why were you talking about me?"
[Blaze is here!]
[Blaze is so handsome! His eyes look so sharp.]
[Does the host not know Blaze well?]
"Itâs true, I donât know Blaze well," Renee said. "This is my second time seeing him, but the first time weâve ever spoken."
âThe Lion Park isnât as harmonious as the Tiger Park. Is it because all the tigers are single?â
Seeing Blaze get closer and closer to Renee, Thunderbolt worried the despicable old lion would attack her. He immediately stepped forward, shielding Renee behind him.
"What do you want with Renee?"
[Whoa, is Thunderbolt protecting Renee?]
[Way to go, Thunderbolt! Renee didnât get your three mates back for nothing!]
Reneeâs heart did indeed warm at Thunderboltâs gesture.
Blaze ignored Thunderbolt, craning his neck to stare at Renee. He demanded forcefully, "Tell me. What were you saying about me?"
"Whatâs that attitude?" Thunderbolt roared angrily at him. "Youâd better be more polite when you speak to Renee!"
Blaze: "Why should I listen to you?"
Thunderbolt: "You want me to bite you?"
Renee quickly interjected to smooth things over. "Donât fight, you two. Weâre all friends here, letâs just talk nicely."
"Iâm not friends with him!"
"Whoâd want to be friends with him?"
Renee asked curiously, "Thunderbolt, Blaze, is there some kind of conflict between you two?"
âWhy are they so hostile toward each other?â
Hearing his name said first, Thunderbolt felt a secret flicker of pride.
"You still havenât answered my question!" Blaze said, a little annoyed. "Have you no manners?"
"Youâre the one with no manners!" Thunderbolt immediately snapped at him. "How dare you say Renee has no manners? You want me to thrash you?"
Normally, Blaze would have already started throwing insults, but today, his interest lay elsewhere.
He shot Thunderbolt a sidelong glance, walked around him to the other side, and repeated, "Why were you talking about me? What were you saying?"
Seeing how curious he was, Renee told him the truth. "Iâm livestreaming right now, and everyone is very curious about why you stole Thunderboltâs mates."
"Oh, so thatâs what it was." Blaze seemed a little disappointed. "I thought you were talking about how Iâm more handsome than Thunderbolt."
Renee: "..."
She laughed. "Youâre both handsome, each in your own way."
[Interview Blaze and ask him why he really stole Thunderboltâs mates!]
[Ask him if his own mates are prettier or if Thunderboltâs are!]
The audience was fixated on this question.
Renee had no choice but to indulge her fans. "Blaze, did you steal Thunderboltâs lionesses because they were prettier than yours?"
Hearing this, Blaze immediately glanced around, making sure his own three mates werenât nearby before answering. "Thatâs part of it. But the main reason is that I canât stand Thunderbolt."
"You canât stand me?" Hearing this, Thunderbolt was also ticked off. "Well, I canât stand *you* even more!"
Renee couldnât understand. She asked directly, "Why canât you stand each other? You donât have to compete for lionesses, prey, or territory."
"I just donât like the look of him," Blaze said. "Thereâs no reason."
Thunderbolt said, annoyed, "Same here!"
Renee had a feeling the relationship between these two lions wasnât as simple as it seemed.
âBut I probably wonât get anything more out of them right now.â
She was about to start taking calls from viewers when she heard Blaze suddenly ask a question.
"Human, why did you help Thunderbolt last time?"
Renee glanced at Thunderbolt and said hesitantly, "Because he was crying so pathetically."
Thunderboltâs expression immediately became a bit awkward. He turned his head away, looking here and there.
[Hahaha, when people get awkward they pretend to be busy. Turns out lions are no exception!]
[Thunderbolt is so cute!]
[The fierce big lion is actually a whimper-monster.]
Blaze didnât seem to believe her answer. "Just because he was crying his eyes out?"
Renee: "Actually, there was another reason."
Thunderboltâs gaze immediately fell upon her, a hint of expectation in his eyes.
Renee said, "He looked pretty cute when he was whimpering."
Thunderbolt instantly grew shy, lifting a chubby front paw to scrape at the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Seeing this, Blaze said with disdain, "You think thatâs a compliment? She didnât say you were handsome!"
Renee immediately added, "Handsome and cute."
That did it. Thunderbolt became even more bashful.
Blazeâs face instantly soured. "Him, handsome? I donât think Thunderbolt has anything to do with the word âhandsomeâ."
"What did you say?" Thunderbolt retorted, displeased. "And I suppose youâre the definition of handsome?"
"Of course!" Blaze said smugly. "Iâm the most handsome lion."
"Shameless!" Thunderbolt said with a sneer. "Want me to piss a puddle for you to use as a mirror?"
Renee: "..."
âThese two are quite the bickerers.â
âBut why is it all talk and no action? Why donât they fight?â
âIt was the same last time when his mates were stolen. Thunderbolt just hid and cried instead of going to fight Blaze.â
âAnd when Thunderbolt got his mates back, Blaze didnât fight him then, either.â
âIn a way, isnât that... harmonious?â
Renee spoke up to stop the two male lions from bickering. "Okay, okay, stop arguing. Youâre interrupting my stream."
"I canât be bothered with you!" Thunderbolt rolled his eyes and turned his backside to Blaze.
"I can be bothered with you even less," Blaze said with a disgusted look, then also turned his backside to Thunderbolt.
Renee: "..."
âAre these two what youâd call frenemies?â
