Chapter 537: Chapter 537: "Hank, Are You in a Relationship?
Daisy Chapman composed herself and returned to the camera. She gave a deep bow and said, her voice thick and nasal, "Iām so sorry for taking up so much of everyoneās time."
"Itās okay," Renee said, then explained Annaās situation. "Young Mr. Quinn might agree to marry you."
[Daisy Chapman, you have to keep a clear head!]
[Yeah, donāt do something youāll regret.]
"Donāt worry, everyone." Daisy Chapman sniffled. "I donāt want him anymore."
Hearing her say that, Renee breathed a small sigh of relief. "Thatās good. Youāre wonderful, and you deserve someone better."
"Mhm!" Daisy Chapman nodded emphatically, forcing a smile. "Thank you, host. And thank you all for your concern."
[You can do it, Daisy Chapman!]
[Make sure you dump that scumbag!]
[Daisy Chapman, weāre waiting to hear your good news!]
"Okay." Renee gave a slight nod. "Youāve got this, Daisy."
"Goodbye, host. Goodbye, everyone." Daisy Chapman waved, disconnected from the stream, and sent a "Shining Firework" virtual gift worth 999 yuan.
Renee glanced at the time and said softly, "Alright, thatās all the calls for today. Iāll see you all again soon. Bye-bye."
She was going to Michelle Fullerās house for dinner today, so she needed to pick up some gifts.
Renee changed her clothes, put on some light makeup, and headed out.
She went to the supermarket and bought fruit, nourishing ingredients for soup, skincare products, and pet treats.
When she arrived at Michelle Fullerās house, the first one to come out and welcome Renee was, surprisingly, Ginny.
The little dog was exceptionally excited to see her, pushing eagerly toward her and yapping affectionately, "Renee, youāre here!"
"Ginny." Renee squatted down in front of her, smiling as she petted her fluffy head. "Youāve gotten bigger again. Did you miss me?"
"WOOF WOOF~ I did, I did! I missed you so much!" Ginny nodded vigorously.
"Such a good girl." Renee raised an eyebrow. "I bought you some treats. Want some?"
"WOOF! I do! Thank you, Renee!" Ginny grinned widely, looking exceptionally happy.
"Reneeās here," Sean said with a grin as he came downstairs. "My sisterās in the kitchen. She said sheās going to cook a few dishes herself today. I honestly donāt know if we should consider ourselves lucky or unlucky."
Reneeās lips curved into a slight smile. "If Michelle hears you say that, youāre going to get an earful."
"Renee, if my sister yells at me, you have to stick up for me."
"Sigh, Iād be caught in the middle. Thatās an awkward position to be in. Youād be better off asking Ginny to back you up."
Having been called out, Ginny barked enthusiastically, "WOOF! Ginny will help! Ginny is willing!"
Sean looked at Ginny and quickly waved his hands dismissively. "Her? Forget it. Sheād just side with my sister against me."
Ginny tilted her head, giving an innocent doggy grin. "Iām her doggy, of course I have to listen to her!"
"Thatās right, Ginnyās the best." Renee smiled and gave her a thumbs-up. "Okay, you go play with Sean. Iām going to the kitchen to see if anyone needs help."
Sean just then noticed all the bags in the living room. "Renee, whyād you bring so much stuff?"
"I was just passing the supermarket, so I picked up a few things," Renee said. "I got a skincare set for you, but Iām not sure if itāll be right for you."
"Itāll be perfect, Iām sure." Seanās expression was happy for a moment, but then it turned serious. "But Renee, you should treat this place like your own home. Why would you bring so many things? You should just come empty-handed. If you do this again, Iām going to have to come pick you up myself."
"Alright, alright," Renee said, amused. "I wonāt do it next time."
"Thatās more like it." Only then did Sean nod in satisfaction.
"Well, Iām heading to the kitchen."
"Hey, Renee, wait a second. I wanted to ask for your help with something."
Hearing this, Renee stopped in her tracks and looked at him quizzically. "What is it?"
Sean said, "I met a girl a while ago, and she gave me a pair of cufflinks. I want to get her a gift in return, but Iām a little unsure what to pick. I was hoping you could help me choose."
"Oh, so thatās it." Renee raised a delicate eyebrow, a glimmer passing through her bright eyes. "Sean, are you seeing someone?"
"No, no." Seanās cheeks flushed as he scratched his head with a sheepish grin. "Weāre just friends. Itās not what youāre thinking."
"Alright," Renee said. "What kind of gift are you looking at?"
"Iāve picked out a few necklaces. Can you help me see which one looks best?" Sean said, pulling out his phone.
Renee looked at his phone screen, and when her eyes fell on the price, she couldnāt help but be taken aback.
āHeās just going to give her a necklace that costs over a hundred thousand yuan?ā
"Renee, take a look."
"Okay."
Renee helped him pick the crescent moon necklace. "I think this one is quite unique."
"Does it look good?"
"Itās very nice."
"Alright then." Sean took back his phone, ready to place the order. "Iāll get this one."
"Iām heading to the kitchen," Renee said, tying her hair into a ponytail as she walked over. "Michelle, Iām here!"
Michelle Fuller was standing in the kitchen, fully geared up. Two chefs flanked her like guardian deities, each holding a pot lid.
"Whatās all this?" Renee asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Renee, youāre here! Has Summer arrived yet?" Michelle was wearing an oil-splatter face shield, sleeve protectors, gloves, and an apron.
"Summerās not here yet," Renee said. "Whatās going on with you?"
Michelle stirred the contents of the wok with a spatula. "Renee, Iām cooking!"
Renee nodded. "Do you need my help?"
"No, no," Michelle chuckled. "Your only job today is to eat."
The chef on the left glanced at the steaming wok and advised, "Young Miss, you can turn off the heat now."
"Oh! Okay!" Michelle quickly dropped the spatula to turn off the heat.
"Michelle, how many dishes have you made?" Renee asked.
Michelle announced, "This is the second dish. Shrimp and scrambled eggs, coming out!"
The two chefs held the wok steady for her so she could scoop the shrimp and eggs onto a plate.
Renee was speechless.
She pressed her lips together, hesitating. "Michelle, maybe..."
"Renee, the cooking fumes are really thick in here. You should go wait outside," Michelle urged.
"Okay." Renee walked out of the kitchen. From a distance, she saw Sean chatting with Sylvia Brooks in the living room. "Summer, youāre here!"
"Renee!" Summerās smile instantly brightened. "Is Michelle in the kitchen?"
"She is." Renee nodded. "And just watching her is making me nervous."
Summer smiled, raising an eyebrow. "Whyās that?"
"Go take a look and youāll see."
"Now youāve made me curious." Summer headed toward the kitchen.
Sean suppressed a smile. "Last time my sister cooked, she nearly blew up the kitchen. Uncle Archer and Uncle Lee were scared to death."
Renee readily agreed. "Every time Michelle enters the kitchen, it takes a huge toll on Uncle Archer and Uncle Lee."
"Thatās why Iāve decided to give Uncle Archer and Uncle Lee the day off tomorrow," Sean said. "They need time to recover."
"Oh, they definitely need it."
Summer came out of the kitchen, grinning from ear to ear. "I canāt believe it. Michelleās cooking is even worse than mine."
