Chapter 595: Chapter 595: Want a Feel?
Not long after Nancy Yules and Wendy Dawson left, Sharon Willows arrived with her second husband.
Neither of them looked well, and they both seemed to be in a terrible state.
Sawyer was just coming out of the interrogation room with a file when he happened to see them. "Ms. Willow, what brings you here?"
They had just finished taking statements from Veronica Young and Emil Redmond and were planning to notify the family members later. They hadnât expected Sharon Willows and Veronica Youngâs father, Julius Young, to show up.
"Officer." Sharon Willows spotted the familiar Sawyer and rushed over to him, choking up. "Please, tell him that what I said is true! Iâm not lying!"
"Ms. Willow, what happened? Please, calm down and tell me whatâs going on." Sawyer handed the file to Kyle Morgan and soothed her in a gentle voice.
Sharon Willowsâs eyes were red-rimmed as she tearfully lamented, "He said Iâm slandering his daughterâs name... but sheâs the one who harmed me!"
"Is this Veronica Youngâs father?" Sawyer asked.
Julius Youngâs face was grim as he spoke. "Yes. She claims my daughter drugged her and had her assaulted. How is that possible? Joy is a kind girl. She would never do something like that!"
Sawyer led the two into a conference room. Renee Jennings and Zachary Conway also went in to get a handle on the situation.
Sharon Willows was trembling as she cried, gasping for air between sobs. She accused, "Officers, you have to get justice for me! That father and daughter are horrible! One ruined my innocence, and the other accuses me of having a venomous heart and trying to drive a wedge between them!"
"Youâve always had a problem with Joy, did you think I didnât know?" Julius Young sneered. "I let it slide when you complained a little before, but now youâre making up something this outrageous!"
"Mr. Young," Renee Jenningsâs brow furrowed slightly, her cool voice laced with seriousness, "this wasnât fabricated by Ms. Willow. Itâs the truth."
Julius Young snapped his head toward Renee, his gaze sharp. "What nonsense are you talking about? Do you have any proof? Believe it or not, Iâll get a lawyer and sue you!"
Zachary Conway frowned in displeasure and reminded him, "Mr. Young, just a moment ago, Veronica Young personally confessed to her crime."
"What?" Julius Young looked utterly incredulous. "How is that possible?"
"Itâs the truth," Sawyer said.
Julius Young instantly became agitated. "I donât believe it! Where is Joy? I want to see her!"
Zachary Conway replied flatly, "Iâm sorry, Mr. Young. As per regulations, you cannot meet with the suspect. The case is being prepared for transfer to the prosecutorâs office. You can have your defense attorney communicate with us then."
The color drained from Julius Youngâs face. His voice trembled slightly. "How could this be? How could this happen...?"
Sharon Willows looked at him and sneered, "Do you understand now? It wasnât me slandering your precious daughter!"
With that, she turned back to Sawyer and the others, her expression growing more solemn. "Officers, thank you so much!"
Sawyer smiled faintly. "Ms. Willow, the prosecutorâs office should be in contact with you for follow-up."
"Okay!" Sharon Willows nodded emphatically. "I will cooperate fully! Well, I wonât disturb you any longer. Goodbye."
After speaking, she shot Julius Young a hateful glare and turned to leave.
Julius Young stood there stunned for a moment before walking out of the conference room, utterly crestfallen.
Renee Jennings blinked, breaking the silence with a smile. "How about I treat everyone to some afternoon tea?"
Hearing this, Sawyerâs eyes lit up. "Oh, right! We still havenât ordered the coffee Director Lowell said heâd treat us to!"
"Then you order the coffee and get Director Lowell to reimburse you," Renee said. "Iâll order the food."
"We still have a department budget," Zachary Conway said with a raised eyebrow. "We can just use the department funds for food. Iâll handle it."
Renee raised her eyebrows slightly and nodded. "That works too. In that case, Iâm treating everyone to dinner tonight, and youâre not allowed to refuse."
After work, Renee treated everyone to a seafood buffet.
After two hours of "hard work," Kyle Morgan walked out of the restaurant, rubbing his round belly. "Itâs over. My diet has failed."
"Youâre not fat, why are you on a diet?" Renee asked, curious.
Hearing this, Levi Hollis chimed in leisurely, "Because he wants to start dating."
"No way, donât talk nonsense." Kyle Morgan nudged him with his elbow. "I just want to maintain my image. I feel like Iâve lost my V-lines recently."
Renee raised an eyebrow. "Kai has V-lines?"
Kyle Morgan put on a mock-bashful expression. "Iâve had them for a long time. I have an eight-pack, too. Want to feel?"
Zachary Conway and Levi Hollis instantly shot him looks of pure shock.
âHas this kid lost his mind?â
âWait, he didnât even drink anything!â
Henry Stark walked up beside him and said coolly, "V-lines? An eight-pack?"
"I was just kidding!" Kyle Morgan explained frantically. "Boss, please donât take it seriously."
A faint smile touched Henry Starkâs lips. "Iâll train with you tonight. Itâll be more effective."
Kyle Morgan trembled, his eyes widening in terror. "Boss, you donât need to trouble yourself with such a small matter..."
Zachary Conway and Levi Hollis were off to the side, laughing with schadenfreude.
Kyle Morgan was dragged off by Henry Stark for some hellish training, while the others all went their separate ways.

ăThe Fuller Residence.ă
Sean Fuller rang the doorbell to Michelle Fullerâs room. "Sis! Open up!"
Michelle Fuller was lying in bed watching a variety show on a projector. Hearing his voice, she used her phone to unlock the door for him.
"Sis!" Sean walked in with a sullen look, his voice tinged with irritation. "Take my phone. You reply to Yvonne Morgan for me. Sheâs so annoying!"
With that, he flopped face-first into the soft duvet.
The next second, he was kicked off.
"Get off, get off!" Michelle said with a look of disgust. "Donât lie on my bed, you brat. Go lie on the carpet with Ginny."
"Sis, Iâve never complained about you, how could you treat me like this?" Sean looked aggrieved. "Iâm your actual brother. Can my treatment be the same as Ginnyâs?"
Hearing this, Ginny shot to her feet. After a couple of light pushes with her hind paws for leverage, she deftly climbed onto the bed and barked, "Woof! Ginnyâs not the same as you. Ginny can roll around on Sisâs duvet."
Sean frowned and waited quietly for Ginny to be kicked off.
But after waiting a moment, all he saw was Michelle reaching out to pet Ginnyâs head, saying dotingly, "Good Ginny."
"Sis!" Sean roared angrily. "Donât go too far! Are you saying Iâm not even as good as Ginny?"
"Youâre only just realizing that now?" Michelle asked in mock surprise. "I thought you knew long ago."
Sean: "..."
He shot to his feet.
"Where are you going?" Michelle asked.
Sean: "Iâm running away from home!"
"Come back." Michelle finally stopped teasing him. "You can have this spot."
She pointed to the space next to Ginny.
But Sean had his pride. He lifted his chin and said, "No, thanks. Iâm going to go seek refuge with Renee."
With that, he turned and stomped out, his footsteps deliberately heavy in a show of defiance.
Michelle thought he was just playing around, so she didnât pay him any mind. But an hour later, she received a WeChat message from Renee Jennings.
