Chapter 149: Chapter 149 Utilizable Man_1
After hearing Qiqimoraâs speculations, Daili and Presia exchanged a glance.
After they were captured, both quickly realized it was nearly impossible to escape from this prisonâeven if they did escape, they would be relentlessly pursued by the Heretical Judgment Bureau, which had already defeated them once. By comparison, remaining in this prison, managed by Aiden, actually seemed like a far better situation, perhaps even no worse than their lives before capture.
Therefore, they accepted their fate quickly and chose the wisest option of making a deal with Aiden. Currently, they hadnât yet contemplated too deeply about the fact that Aiden held divine powerâbecause there seemed to be no point in doing so.
"Whatever the case, this guy wonât be easy to deal with," Qiqimora remarked with a puff of smoke, smiling, "Interesting."
"Anyway, Vila wonât be able to win against him; if she throws that mercury amalgam golem in here... I can imagine what will happen," Presia shook her head, "So, you might as well dissuade her and tell her to leave this city as soon as possible. She should hide well, since she canât rescue us anyway."
"I was actually entrusted by Abigail to persuade her, but she wonât listen, and sheâs quite upset with Abigail right now. With her stubborn character, itâs unlikely sheâll change her mind so easily," Qiqimora shrugged.
"Then just pass on the information weâve given you, she may be impulsive, but she isnât entirely without sense. Iâve tried sending messages back to our contact point, but it seems sheâs hasnât gone there anymore," Presia suggested.
However, Qiqimora refused her proposal without a second thought, "No need; after hearing the intelligence youâve provided, Iâm somewhat intrigued by Aiden Galahad. If Vila wants to kill him, then Iâll just sit in a prime seat and see for myself if what you say is true."
"What are you really plotting?" Presia frowned, "This wonât be of any benefit to you."
"Having Vila taken down a notch wouldnât be bad; she said sheâd take responsibility if anything went wrong," Qiqimora said calmly, "I think after losing, sheâll be willing to leave this place and go help Abigail. That way, my task would also be considered complete."
"Help? What happened to Abigail?" Daili immediately sensed a problem.
"Ah, the âBlack Goat.â That priest finally couldnât restrain himself and made a move on Abigail. The Harvest Mother Cultâs battle nuns have already begun to harass Banquet Forest," Qiqimora explained lightly.
"Is this leading up to a war?" Daili asked.
"Thereâs a trend in that direction. So, Abigail is also making preparations. She has had me scouting for the âBlack Goatâsâ movements. Lamia is actually quite enthusiastic about this, and Habanis was observing initially; however, after Abigail promised to share the priestâs remains with her, she joined as well. The only tricky one is VilaâAbigail wants to use her golem to strengthen the defenses of Banquet Forest, but Vila has been at odds with Abigail since you were captured."
Qiqimora spread her hands in a gesture of helplessness, "Without you two, our combat strength has already been significantly affected. This should be the time we need to unite the most."
"Cut it out, donât casually count us in; âBlack Goatâ is only after Abigail. Abigail is clearly using us, not even bothering to disguise it," Presia said with an indifferent look, "The âBlack Goatâ wants the âSole Authorityâ she possesses, and all she wants from the âBlack Goatâ are the divine words and to take out a thorn in her side in the process."
"Sigh, you sound exactly like Vila. As selfish as Abigail may be, sheâs not foolish enough to expect us to sacrifice ourselves for nothing. Let me tell you, thereâs profit to be had in thisâAbigail has already agreed to let us share in the priestâs remains. Sheâs at least that trustworthy, right?" Qiqimora said with a sardonic smile, "If you two were still outside, youâd probably be hopping to agree, especially you, Presia. Arenât you the most eager for divinity? Now that youâre in prison, youâll probably be quite frustrated when Iâm gone."
"What a joke; even if I desired it, I wouldnât throw my life away on a whim," Presia scoffed, "The opponent is a âgod-adjacent,â and serving as Abigailâs pawn could make one a sacrifice at any moment."
"To gain divinity, a certain level of risk is always involved," Qiqimora shook her head, "But now, our side simply doesnât have enough chips. Perhaps..."
"Perhaps what?" Daili raised her eyebrows in confusion at the pause.
"Perhaps thereâs a chance to make use of this man, Aiden Galahad," Qiqimora quirked her lips, "if he can really get past Vila, that is."
"If you want to probe his background..." Presia raised her hand and pointed in a certain direction, "there, his office is over there."
"Iâll pass on that; since you say he is a master, Iâd better be a bit more cautious. Before I understand him, letâs have Vila take a look first. I wonât have direct contact with him." Qiqimora stood up from the bedside, finished the rest of her cigarette in one breath, and said, "Itâs getting late, I must be going."
She looked around, ready to throw her cigarette butt into the nearby bin, when Daili quickly called out to her, "Donât throw it here, it will be found. Throw it over there instead."
Qiqimora followed the direction Daili was pointingâtoilet in the restroom area.
"Quite particular, arenât you?" Qiqimora chuckled, flicked her fingers, and popped the butt into the toilet.
"Take care then. I hope the next time we meet, you havenât been hanged."
After the farewell, Qiqimora began to chant divine words, then turned and walked towards the innermost wall, passing straight through it and disappearing from sight.
Meanwhile, in Room 13, Succubus Fille, wrapped in her blanket, was still feeling terrified.
"I didnât see anything, I didnât see anything... My mouth is sealed so please, please donât come to me..." She repeated this in her mind like a mantra, over and over, countless times.
Then suddenly, her head went blank for a moment.
The next instant, she fell into bewildermentâI didnât see... what was it again?
Wait, why am I lying down again? What was I planning to do just now?
She climbed out of bed again, feeling as though she had forgotten something.
Thatâs when she noticed the crystal in her hand.
"Ah!" She suddenly remembered.
At the same time, Avansa, who was sleeping in Room 11 next door, began to ponder a questionâthe strange noises coming from next door... what on earth is that person doing every night?
