Chapter 434: Chapter 434 "Desire" and "Betrayal"_1
Aiden pondered for a moment and roughly understood Haloās meaning, "So youāre saying that the power of āsacrificeā constructs a covenant, you fulfill their wishes, and they offer you their absolute loyalty voluntarily."
"Exactly, absolute loyalty, absolute faith, absolute worship, they would even strap explosives to themselves and perish with the enemy for me, hehe." Halo playfully raised her hands.
"It seems youāve already created quite a few terrorists," Aiden shook his head, "Absolute faith, this sounds a bit like the power of the ādesireā authority."
Melissaās "desire" authority could magnify or diminish a personās various desires, leading someone to commit crimes or become an upstanding gentleman. By completely assimilating someoneās desires and then using the "wisdom" authority to instill memories, it was even possible to turn someone else into another version of oneself. With such capability, gaining control over a personās adoration must also be a piece of cake.
"Hmph, how can hypnotically induced false faith compare to that which is offered willingly?" Halo scoffed slightly with disdain.
"Are you suggesting your authority is more powerful than the ādesireā authority?" Aiden asked bluntly.
He felt it was necessary to determine if the other partyās viewpoint was just a personal bias to assess the reliability of the information.
"No, just stating the facts. In terms of manipulating the spirit, the ādesireā authorityās power of ālongingā is indeed more convenient and can be executed with greater finesse, whereas the āsacrificeā power requires voluntary participation. But in terms of the strength of completed mental reformation, ālongingā is nowhere near āsacrifice.ā The faith built by āsacrificeā is irreversible; once believers offer their hearts to me through the āsacrificeā power, it cannot be taken back unless I agree, and their fervor and devotion can never be changed. Even if I lose my Divine Power, even if there are other dominators who intervene, they will still be my believers."

"Wait a second, from what you are saying... Is the mental control of the ādesireā authority reversible by outside interference?" Aiden found a point of interest.
If it could be reversed, it meant there was a vulnerability in the mental control of the "desire" authorityāthis would also be Melissaās weakness.
"Of course it can, like using the power of ābetrayalā to interfere, dummy!" Halo said didactically.
"So theyāre both dominator-level powers, if the ādesireā authority controls a personās thoughts and then the āhatredā authority orders them to betray, in the end, which one would win?" Aiden persisted.
"Are you considering using me to combat the mental control of the Conspiracy Goddess?" The Goddess of Vengeance suddenly saw through Aidenās intentions.
"Exactly."
There was nothing to deny, especially since the Goddess of Vengeance also saw the Conspiracy Goddess as an enemy.
"Forget about it, there are also differences in rank among dominators," Halo narrowed her eyes, "You are the plaything of the Conspiracy Goddess, and you donāt know she holds the other two authorities of the Throne of Spirit?"
Aiden was startled momentarily, "Of course I know, but I didnāt expect you to know as well..."
"That bitch couldnāt have killed me with her scheming without the power of two authorities. I can be sure that witch controls the āwisdomā authority, and if she hadnāt obtained the ādesireā authority, she would have no reason to come after me first. You asking now just confirms my suspicions!" The glint in Haloās eyes as she spoke was sharp, and Aiden could feel her gnashing her teeth in anticipation of avenging herself on the Conspiracy Goddess, "So donāt even think about it. Two authorities from the same throne also amplify each other, and if we were to directly compete with our authorities for mental control, I would be at a disadvantage. But a head-on confrontation is probably not her forte."
"Her favorite method is to stay behind the scenes. It seems you do know a little about her," Aiden nodded leisurely, "but it looks like... you donāt yet know there are actually two people who make up the āConspiracy Goddess.ā"
"Elaborate, kid," Haloās gaze intensely focused on Aiden.
"Finally seeing something that particularly interests you, huh?" Aiden smiled.
"Cut the crap, kid, place your conditions later, try to give us the runaround and we are done," Halo said coldly, clearly unwilling to wait even a moment longer.
Aiden once again witnessed the capricious nature of this dominatorāsometimes they were entirely unreasonable.
He didnāt want to cause an issue over this matter, so he gave in, "To put it simply, she found someone, assimilated their desires and thoughts with the ādesireā authority, and then infused her own memories and knowledge with the āwisdomā authority, turning that person into another version of herself."
"An intriguing but unappreciative method, if I were to clone myself, she would definitely covet my power and force me to kill her again," Halo evaluated.
"She found a solutionāgive her alter ego an authority," Aiden held up two fingers, "In this way, the Conspiracy Goddess split herself into two dominators, one with the āwisdomā authority, and the other with the ādesireā authority."
"I suddenly find that a bit exciting," Halo nodded approvingly, "If I had two authorities, I would play that game too, fostering two sets of belief, haha!"
"So all else being equal, could your ābetrayalā handle the ādesireā authorityās ālongingā?" Aiden reiterated his earlier question.
Halo considered for a moment, "A thirty percent chance of success."
"Only thirty percent?"
"Even split into two, itās still two against one," Halo answered, "Itās like a coin flip contest, I need to flip the coin to the tails side, and if during the contest one of them is flipping the coin while the other is interfering with me, then of courseā"
"Not two, just the ādesireā authority alone," Aiden interrupted her, raising his hand, "What then?"
"Why only one?" Halo asked.
"Just answer me first, letās assume thatās the case," Aiden pressed.
"Why assume thereās only one? Whatās the point?" Halo frowned slightly, "āWisdomā authorityās āomniscienceā can predict the future, that bitch wonāt easily lose the advantage."
"Because thatās the rule of the game she set, āwisdomā authority wonāt interfere, only the ādesireā authority is setting up this scenario here," Aiden explained.
"I understand all that, but why would you believe sheād stick to the rules of the game?" Halo pressed the point.
"I donāt trust her, but from what I know of her, she will stick to the rules," Aiden said.
"Thatās really disgusting, are you two a couple or something?" Halo said with a hint of revulsion, "You talk as if you know each other inside out. Who do you think you are, kid?"
