Chapter 529: 530
"Hmm?"
Camila and Ophelia pricked up their ears and turned toward Veronicaās direction.
The recent conversation had instantly ignited their gossiping hearts.
"What nonsense, who told you that?" Veronica immediately frowned and denied it.
She became slightly vigilant, realizing that only the guards knew about the "Lady of the Flowers" appearance, and if Fille was aware of such news, it could mean that a guard had been idly chatting with the prisoners.
"It canāt be fake, just look in the mirror; youāve been wearing your heart on your face these past few days..." Fille pouted.
"You answer what I ask you!" Veronica leaned in close to Fille, with an expression like she was about to devour her.
"Uh, a prisoner I know heard it while cleaning, during idle chat between you guards..." Fille shrank her neck and hurriedly explained.
"Stop believing everything you hear, and instead of gossiping, donāt you have anything better to do?" Veronica said, impatiently wanting to change the subject.
"But itās true, isnāt it?" Fille insisted.
"No comment!" Veronica replied coldly.
"So that means it is true! Weāve heard something interesting here," Camila chimed in, moving closer with a mischievous grin, "Seeing you so distracted lately, Halo must be a real catch."
"Right, I heard that vixen is incredibly beautiful." Fille added.
"How beautiful are we talking? I canāt even imagine; give me details." Camila raised an eyebrow.
"Anyway, sheās just very, very beautiful, thatās what they all say."
"Hey, donāt casually get near the guards when youāre out in the yard, hasnāt anyone taught you that?" Veronica scolded, trying to disperse the busybodies with a dark expression.
"If we canāt get close, we canāt get close, but a little idle chat isnāt against the law, right? Everyoneās not interested in you, itās about the wardenās love life," Camila backed away with her hands raised, but her taunts only grew more intense, "The warden is good-looking, has a nice voice, and has gotten so famous lately; itās not surprising if he has a few women coming and going."
"Ugh!" Veronica felt as though she had been shot with an arrow upon hearing this.
"And from a conventional point of view, a civil servant whoās running the place in his twenties is a very ideal marriage prospect." Asenna, who was passing by, also chimed in, "Heās arrested so many major criminals recently, the bounty savings alone must be quite substantial, guaranteeing a secure future."
"Youāre aloof towards romance; are you actually interested in marriage?" Ophelia looked over from the bench.
"Iām simply analyzing from an objective perspective," Asenna adjusted her glasses.
"Are we talking about the warden?" Daili also joined in, with Presia following behind her; they had seen a group of familiar faces gathering around Veronica from afar and couldnāt help but be interested, "I think heās quite good too, capable and mysterious, it stirs the desire to explore and understand more."
"It really does evoke a desire to conquer," Camila laughed.
"Hey, sis, havenāt you always been hot-tempered? How can you be so weak?" Fille fanned the flames next to Veronica, "If it were me, I wouldnāt stand for someone moving in on my man!"
"Stop messing around, what does this have to do with me?" Veronica kept a straight face.
The prisoners exchanged glances and heaved a collective sigh, "Ah."

"What are you doing?" Veronicaās eyes widened.
"You didnāt think you were hiding it well, did you?" Asenna said emotionlessly.
"Whose crush weāre talking about has been the talk of the place for a while now." Carmila said with a wicked smile.
"Who started spreading the rumors?" Veronica immediately caught the crux of the matter, her gaze coldly sweeping over.
There was a moment of silence, and then everyone except Fille herself raised their hands to point at Fille.
"Hey!" Fille exclaimed in shock, only to see Veronicaās eyes turn icy in an instant.
"Ah, suddenly I need to go to the bathroom!" She turned to slip away, but Veronica grabbed her shoulder.
"You have to report to the guard if you need to use the bathroom," Veronica said deliberately and viciously, "Have you forgotten the rules?"
"Big sis, Iām sorry, go easy! My shoulderās about to be dislocated!!" Fille screamed loudly.
"Running your mouth, you want to stay in Cell No. 3?" Veronicaās expression grew even more frightening.
"You want to stay in Cell No. 3" had become a common phrase for the prison guards to warn the prisoners, and Halo, the "lunatic" of Cell No. 3, was a troublesome prisoner that even Filleās "cash power" couldnāt handle, much trickier than Carmila.
"But every time you look at Lord Aiden, your eyes are filled with lust, itās a little difficult for me as a succubus to pretend not to see... Ah! Iām dying! My shoulder! My shoulder is making strange noises!!"
Veronica finally let go of Fille.
"Ow, thatās too much, I feel like my joints are going to break." Fille squatted on the ground, clutching her shoulder, pitifully looking up at Veronica, "I was only looking out for you because we shared the same roof."
"Youāre clearly just looking for fun," Veronica was unmoved.
"Itās not about my purpose, itās that I can help you!" Fille suddenly sprang up.
"What devilish scheme are you hatching now?" Veronica was on alert.
"It doesnāt matter if a rival appears, I can help you strategize!" Filleās eyes shone as she spoke, "Let me tell you, the customers my shop poaches, no other shop can ever steal back. If itās about keeping a man, I consider myself the most professional in this city."
"Succubi can create dreams that craft scenes not found in reality, and normal nightclubs stand no chance against you. Add to that your limitless business methods, thatās the real reason you rule Yankee Alley," Veronica responded coolly.
"Anyway, itās certainly better than going at it alone, you look like you have absolutely no experience in love." Fille pointed at Veronica.
"Are you asking for death?" A vein throbbed on Veronicaās forehead.
"Is now the time to be worried about face? Are you just going to watch the man you like get stolen away? Is that what you call true love?"
"Uh!" Veronica was at a loss for words for a moment.
"Whatās important is to take action, action!" Fille said energetically, her fist clenched as if ablaze, "Getting everyone to help you strategize wonāt result in any losses, right?"
"Absolutely unnecessary! You seem a little too eager," Veronica had always followed Aidenās teachings, not trusting these prisoners at all, especially Fille.
"Come on, everyone share your top tricks for catching men." Fille was so excited she couldnāt stop herself, raising her hand to point at Carmila, "Letās start with you."
