Chapter 646: Chapter 645 Calling for Help_1
"That guyās tail hasnāt even shown yet, and youāre already frazzled," the Vengeful Goddessās voice, laced with sarcasm, rang in Aidenās mind. "Youāre about to be outmaneuvered in this game of chess."
"If you donāt have any constructive suggestions, then be quiet for a while, Iām busy," Aiden had no time to entertain her.
"I wouldnāt bother talking to you if I werenāt capable, boy," the Vengeful Goddess said. "Listen to me, donāt even think about using your power to save people!"
"What?" Aiden was very surprised.
"Youāre thinking of using divine power to heal the infected, arenāt you? Donāt be foolish, your power is not unlimited." The Vengeful Goddess spoke in a lecturing tone. "Didnāt you say that guy might already be in prison? This is probably a trap. He might make his move after youāve depleted your power. Plus, your power has a time limit, while his plague can continue to spread unless you..."
"Use the Wordless Code." Aiden understood what the Vengeful Goddess implied.
Among those Blood Moon Cult followers who were sacrificed their memories and sent to prison, there could be the Grim Reaperās emissary or someone endowed with the power of death, or perhaps a dead person controlled by the man in the blood-red garment. Connected to her was the gateway to the underworld, where the man in the blood-red garment hid, ready to emerge at any time.
Aiden had tried to get the prisoners to help him find this criminal, but to no avail. After all, if this criminal had already sacrificed her memories, she couldnāt possibly show any flaws, because even she herself might not be aware that she held the power to unlock the gates to the underworld; similarly, trying to use the power of "The Codex" to detect lies would also be fruitless.
Moreover, there were far too many prisoners suspected to be Blood Moon Cult followers; a substantial number of prisoners were brought into this prison every day.
Thatās why Aiden had the Vengeful Goddess attached to himself and penned those rules in the Wordless Code, to prevent the man in the blood-red garmentās surprise attack.
As a result, the man in the blood-red garment used the Grim Reaperās power to bring a great plague to his prison.
The onset speed of the infectious disease varied from person to person; new fatalities would likely emerge within the next few hours, along with a rise in severe cases, causing the plague to ebb and flow among the patients. The origin of the infectious disease was probably the Blood Moon Cult followers, who, after being infected by the Grim Reaperās bestowed plague, were exempted by the Grim Reaperās "undying" power, becoming walking calamities immune to the plague themselves, yet spreading it everywhere they went.
As Aidenās power was time-sensitive and had a cooldown period, even if he were to gather all the prisoners for a purification, during the cooldown of his power, the man in the blood-red garment could lay the groundwork for another round of plague spread, or take the opportunity to launch his vengeful plan. With the power in cooldown, Aiden would be as good as having crippled his own combat capabilities, becoming very vulnerable.
Aiden could also modify a rule in The Codex, making the rule of The Codex eliminate the impact of the plague and stay in effect. But that might just play right into the man in the blood-red garmentās hands; modifying any rule would offer new openings for the man in the blood-red garment to exploit.
"Do you understand? The safest course of action for you personally is to do nothing," the Vengeful Goddess continued. "After all, this plague has no effect on you."
"So I should just let my subordinates and the prisoners die?" Aiden frowned subconsciously.
As the prison governor, he couldnāt just watch a mass death happen within the prison.
"Does it matter, boy? Itās not you whoās dying; they are just your resources after all. When the prison no longer offers you convenience, discard it," the Vengeful Goddess failed to grasp Aidenās approach. "That guy climbed to his position over the bones of his followers, yet you want your own resources to become your burden?"
"I am the governor of this prison," Aiden insisted.
"Why do you care about a mortal identity when you aim to be a ruler?" the Vengeful Goddess asked.
"Donāt forget, Phoenix, if I donāt accept this identity, you and I wouldnāt stand on the same side," Aiden retorted.
"..." The Vengeful Goddess suddenly fell silent.
"You only recognize your identity as a āhateā ruler, abandoning your mortal past," Aiden continued. "In contrast, at least for now, Iām rather content with this mortal identity. We are opposites, yet we both have our own assertions about our existence. Thatās our common ground."
After a moment of silence, the Vengeful Goddess replied, "Fine, kid, clean up your own mess."
"I donāt need you to remind me of that."
"But in case the other side makes a move, how do you plan to counter?" the Vengeful Goddess asked. "You donāt have a contingency plan, do you?"
"I do, I plan to call for aid," Aiden replied succinctly, taking out the Great Witchās token and beginning to summon Abigail.
"What is it, Your Excellency the prison governor?" Abigailās voice, devoid of any ripple, came from the token.
"My prison has been struck with a plague concocted by the man in the blood-red garment, with the Grim Reaperās power bolstering it, surpassing that of the Old Lese Kingdom," Aiden briefly explained. "I will use my own power to deal with it shortly, and the man in the blood-red garment might strike while Iām vulnerable. I need your help, as you have promised."
"This happens to be my area of expertise... Alright, give me an hour," Abigail agreed promptly.
"How do you plan to get here?" Aiden was somewhat curious.
From Banquet Forest to Silvertown, conventional means would definitely not suffice to get there in such a short time.
"Secret," Abigail replied. "You just take care of your things."
...
Minutes later, Banquet Forest.
Abigail stood atop a lofty fir tree, surveying the foggy forest sea, extending her gaze to the distant mountain range. Passing through the mine tunnels of that mountain, followed by a journey on a train from a town, it would take the better part of a day to reach Silvertown.
But Abigail was preparing to take a "shortcut."
"Itās been a while since Iāve exercised my muscles," she thought, then began chanting divine words.
The power of "Dominance"!

The power began to directly alter her biological form, causing feathers to grow on her body, changing her lower half into the shape of a bird. Her arms swiftly unfolded, becoming wings with an extravagant wingspan.
A harpy, a humanoid magical creature long extinct in ancient texts, was confirmed by Abigail to be a byproduct of the "Life" dominion.
"I hope no one sees this... but it actually doesnāt matter if they do," Abigail thought. "After all, if thereās any trouble, itās the prison governor who has to deal with the aftermath."
Of course, thatās assuming he survives till the end.
