Chapter 670: Chapter 669: The Off-Track Great Witch Gathering_1
The next day, in Abigailās summoning space, the Great Witchās gathering was called to order once again.
"The āOrderāsā... dominator?" Vila widened her eyes. "What exactly is going on?"
"Him? You guys must be fucking kidding me," Habanisās voice was full of doubt as well.
The ones most shocked by the news of Aidenās promotion to dominator were naturally them, to whom it seemed the world had suddenly turned upside down.
"Oh my, that kind of spirit control. It was really monstrous. Abigail and I were both so nervous at the time," Qiqimora recalled yesterdayās experience.
"Iād have liked to be a bit apprehensive too, but it was all over by the time I came to," Lamia shook her head. "You guys really know how to slip away faster than anyone when thereās trouble."
"You should be grateful that the warden didnāt strip you of your divinity while you were unconscious," Qiqimora said.
"I think I should be grateful that nothing weird was done to me, right?" Lamia asked sarcastically, laughing, "Wait, truly nothing? Little devil?"
When the storm of events had just ended yesterday, they were somewhat wary of Aiden, now a dominator, with even their manner of speaking becoming a bit more cautious. But after noticing that Aidenās behavior remained unchanged from the past, they quickly reverted to how they usually acted.
"Honestly, your form at that time, itās quite hard for anyone to feel interested," Aiden responded expressionlessly.
"Looks like I need to consider making myself a bit sexier," Lamia laughed loudly.
"In the end, it is indeed a cause for celebration," Abigail nodded gravely, summarizing the situation. "Congratulations once again, Warden.
"Thank you," Aiden replied calmly.
His promotion to dominator was also a positive development for Abigail, Lamia, and Qiqimora.
Abigail planned to hunt the Wilderness King; Qiqimora had been caught up in the promotion ceremony. They all needed the aid of a powerful outside force, and Aiden had promised that after they had helped him, he would likewise assist them.
"Since the Warden has successfully advanced, can we discuss the trade we talked about before?" Abigail said. "The Wilderness King has been wandering the southern continent, disguised as a magical beast. My latest information is that heās now staying in the Mirror Lake in the south."
"Disguised as an aquatic magical beast?" Qiqimora said.
"Exactly. This has led to recent rumors of a water monster there, with fishermen and explorers going missing," Abigail continued, "Warden, you will assist us, wonāt you?"
"Of course, that goes without saying but,..." Aiden paused.
His words immediately made the others tense up.
"Lilā devil, youāre not thinking of going back on your word, are you?" Lamia asked suspiciously.
"Of course not, I merely have conditions. First, I have a rematch due with the Goddess of Schemes... You get my point, right?"
"We agreed to help on the premise that we have the capacity," Abigail said slowly, "From that perspective, Warden, youāll have to help us first, and you can be sure we will reciprocate."
"Good, I have another condition then, you must not use the power of authority for evil... Actually, you must not use it for wrong at all, else it would put me in a very awkward position," Aiden said. "Now that I have sufficient power, I will take on the role of enforcer that I should."
"We all are witches who broke The Covenant," Qiqimora reminded.
"Iām referring to the more malevolent kind of crimes, like murder and plunder against innocent people," Aiden clarified, "On this, I will have my own standards for judgment."
"So, does that mean no more human experiments or eating people?" Lamia asked with wide eyes.
"That sort of thing should never be done!" Aiden stated seriously, "Anyway, we will meet periodically. I will use my authority to ensure you tell the truth, and whether I assist you will depend on your behavior."
"Periodic meetings? Iām not very fond of going out from here," Abigail said.
"Itās not impossible for me to come to the Banquet Forest directly to meet you," Aiden said with a smile to the Great Witch who preferred to stay at home.
"Then I suppose Iāll take the trouble to step out," Abigail sighed.
"A former Heretic Inquisitor scrutinizing the Great Witch of a witch gathering?" Habanis muttered, "What kind of international joke is this?"
"How did it come to this after just some time?" Vila murmured to herself, somewhat unable to grasp the situation, "Even Abigail... The witch gathering, controlled by this man?"
However, having seen the current developments of the three Great Witches, they all felt somewhat tempted. The thought simultaneously occurred to them: Perhaps setting aside prejudices and cooperating with this man for mutual benefit was indeed a viable option.
"I donāt mind either way," Qiqimora said.
"Looks like thereās no other choice, what a pain in the ass," Lamia grumbled, yet she didnāt confront Aiden directly either.
Nowadays, Aiden held the power to overturn the entire witch gathering. They were somewhat relieved that this man was allied with them.
"So, shall we cross-check last monthās financial accounts?" Aiden asked.
"Letās put that aside for now. Speaking of which, Abigail, that game you mentioned before, can you replicate it?" Qiqimora turned toward Abigail.
"That āUNOā card game? It sounds intriguing, but to replicate it so it can be played remotely with credentials, I suppose I need to carefully consider the design of the props," Abigail responded.
"That game is good fun, I really like the feeling of stacking cards on people, though the name is a bit bizarre," Lamia grinned, "This prison is really interesting. Maybe Iād consider staying a bit longer if the cafeteria offered a few times more food."
"Can I come back for visits after I leave?" Qiqimora chuckled.
"My place is not a holiday resort," Aiden replied.
"Anyway, if thereās nothing important left to discuss today, how about we play a game?" Habanis suddenly raised her hand and shouted.
"Play?" Aiden was momentarily confused.
"Ludo!" Habanis declared. "Just to pass some time, Iām almost dying of boredom here."
"The groupās a bit large, only four people can play a board game," Qiqimora scanned those present, "Should we take turns?"
"Wait, why not let Daili and Presia join in, and we can start two games at the same time?" Vila suggested.
Aiden looked at the Great Witches gathered around and couldnāt help but laugh.
After he joined, the Great Witch gathering seemed to start going off-track little by little.
But thatās not necessarily a bad thing.
