Ling Ruonan hadn’t expected the men arranged by Luo Xusheng to arrive in Yanjing so quickly, and her heart was full of pleasant surprise. However, she had already decided how to deploy these two, and immediately said, “You two will take charge of Ling’er’s safety alone. Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun promptly agreed.

Ling Ruonan called Wuyue in and introduced her as her personal assistant to Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun, stating that Wuyue was in charge of all her personal affairs and that from now on, all arrangements for the security team would be handled by her.

Observing the surprise and slight disapproval on the faces of the two men, Wuyue graciously extended her hand, introduced herself, and then mentioned the number of the military unit she had previously served in.

It was unexpected that such a beautiful young lady turned out to be a retired female Marine, which took the two men, already out of the special forces, by surprise.

“She has been managing those who came before, and she is my most trusted assistant,” fearing that Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun might not accept Wuyue, Ling Ruonan explained a few words especially.

“Sister-in-law, we understand,” Yang Xiaodong quickly responded.

When Luo Ziling returned to Ling Ruonan’s side, he heard Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun looking cheerful again, while Ling Ruonan also had a smile on her face and some blush on her cheeks. He had no idea what happy thing they had just been talking about.

“I’m really envious of the Boss, for having found such a beautiful wife,” Wang Zhenjun muttered softly, then asked Yang Xiaodong in bewilderment, “Captain, why doesn’t the Boss come back to see his wife? He’s willing to leave such a beautiful sister-in-law behind?”

“Don’t talk nonsense!” Yang Xiaodong kicked Wang Zhenjun and then apologized to Ling Ruonan somewhat embarrassingly, “Sister-in-law, he’s a bit rough around the edges, always making jokes. Please don’t mind him.”

Ling Ruonan didn’t take offense and ignored their playful banter. She instructed them, “Let’s send Ling’er back to school today. After you drop him off, go and rest yourselves, and we’ll get in touch later.”

“Okay, then sister-in-law, we’re off,” Yang Xiaodong said nonchalantly, waving his hand and pulling Wang Zhenjun away with him.

“Mom, you should go to sleep, I’ve woken you up again,” Luo Ziling said as he was leaving; Ling Ruonan had already fallen asleep. They had woken her up earlier, and Luo Ziling was worried that Ling Ruonan couldn’t sleep again. He added softly, “If you can’t sleep, you can take the calming medicine I gave you; it should help you sleep soundly.”

As Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun walked out of the living room first, Ling Ruonan pulled Luo Ziling aside to give him some instructions.

“Ling’er, from now on, let them follow you around. They are comrades who have been through life and death with your dad and will certainly protect your safety. Also, your father instructed that you can use them to expose the hidden enemy targeting you.
