“I like that plan,” Luo Ziling immediately agreed, “Actually, I’ve wanted to strike back for a while now; I can’t just let them scheme against me. But I’m not familiar with these tricks of the trade. You guys are definitely pros at this, so I’ll leave these matters in your hands.”

“That’s a trivial matter,” Yang Xiaodong shook his head nonchalantly, “What we’re worried about is more gun assassination attempts. Those are the real headaches. After discussing what they needed to discuss, the three parted ways.

Though Cao Jianhui and Fang Qianqian had both offered to pick up the bill, in the end, it was still him paying. Luo Ziling couldn’t help but feel both amused and frustrated.

Back in the dorm room, he still grumbled to Cao Jianhui who hadn’t gone to sleep yet.

“Boss, we didn’t eat much today, and it was you who asked us to leave first. How can you blame us? It wasn’t us who invited them over,” Cao Jianhui replied with a frustrated expression, “If it’s a big deal, tomorrow I’ll treat you guys again, okay? Don’t be so stingy.”

“Indeed, we returned on empty stomachs,” Li Fuming rubbed his belly and added his own sullen comment.

Luo Ziling just hummed and ignored them.

Cao Jianhui quickly followed up with another question, “Boss, what exactly happened today? And who were those two beautiful girls? What happened between you and your cousin again?”

“What nonsense are you talking?” Luo Ziling glared at Cao Jianhui, “It was just someone who’s dissatisfied with me, wanting to ruin my reputation by fabricating these stories online.”

“Then why would they say you and your cousin fought over a woman? And what’s the deal with the pregnant woman?” Cao Jianhui continued, baffled, and added, “We want to know what’s happening so we can help you quash the rumors.”

“I’ve already got someone looking into it. The truth will come out soon, so don’t speculate wildly,” Luo Ziling replied.

Cao Jianhui stopped pressing the matter.
