So, I know we have no chance, but I still agreed to their request to meet you, just as you said, to complete the task.”

Luo Ziling was astounded to hear this, “Your parents really think this way? Hoping you to marry into a rich family, so they forced you to come on a date with me?”

“Pretty much,” Dai Shulan smiled faintly, but it was tinged with sadness, “They said they hope I could marry into a family with good standing and a decent man. I’m their only daughter; they don’t want me to marry below my station, nor do they want me to suffer in the future.”

“Is there a rather poor guy chasing after you?”
