Chapter 2191: 2191: All Confused

Capítulo 2191: Chapter 2191: All Confused

“No!” Lin Lan shook her head, “She never liked anyone, and never got close to a man like this. She might like you, but whether she likes you or not doesn’t matter. She won’t give herself to you, nor will she have any connection with you. What she’ll do at most is seek your help or offer you assistance. So, don’t think too much.”

Luo Ziling looked at Lin Lan strangely, and Lin Lan didn’t avoid his gaze, quietly looking at him.

Their stare-off only ended when Phoenix emerged from the bathroom.

“Let’s get back to business!” Phoenix didn’t pay attention to the strange stare between Luo Ziling and Lin Lan. What just happened didn’t seem to have any effect on her, as she calmly instructed Luo Ziling, “We’ve come to see you today certainly for other matters.”

“I know, whenever you two come to me, it’s never about anything good!” Luo Ziling felt a bit wronged.

“We’ve been cooperating all along, but for future cooperation, we need to change our approach, otherwise your father will be uncomfortable.” Phoenix said, gesturing Lin Lan to show her phone to Luo Ziling.

After looking at what was on Lin Lan’s phone, Luo Ziling was greatly surprised at the two women: “Is this really possible?”

What Lin Lan showed Luo Ziling was that future cooperation would be in the name of Luo Ziling as a member of Dragon Rise, cooperating with Lingyun Pharmaceutical and Northern Pharmaceuticals. Procure the necessary drugs for Dragon Rise from these two pharmaceutical companies in Luo Ziling’s name.

“Didn’t you say you don’t want my dad to feel uncomfortable and want to change the cooperation method? Wouldn’t this method make him feel awkward?” Luo Ziling asked Phoenix with a puzzled expression.

“You are a member of Dragon Rise. After your dad arrives, there will be no ‘outsider’ label; you will definitely become an official member of Dragon Rise in the future. But your treatment and actions will be almost the same as now, only used in emergencies when required. You will be responsible for the pharmaceutical part in the future, so external procurement affairs also need your management. Of course, it’s not solely your decision; you are just the signatory.” Phoenix explained earnestly.

Unfortunately, Luo Ziling didn’t fully understand Phoenix’s explanation; he remained in a daze.

“I truly don’t get your explanation,” Luo Ziling replied honestly to Phoenix after carefully checking and still being clueless, “I also completely don’t feel this arrangement is more reasonable, nor will it prevent my father from feeling awkward. On the contrary, I believe such an arrangement will make my father more embarrassed, and our father-son duo more prone to troubles.”

“We initially thought the same.” Phoenix was not surprised by Luo Ziling’s doubt and calmly said, “But this represents a change in your father’s attitude, recognizing your presence in Dragon Rise as an important move. A crucial point is that besides the two of us, no one else knows about your father-son relationship. What everyone remembers is that you cured the leader’s injury and made him stand up again.”

“I still don’t agree with your approach!” Luo Ziling shook his head, “Our father-son relationship is definitely not just known by you. What is Dragon Rise? None of its people are simple. Knowing my relationship with my dad is a breeze for them. Therefore, if you do as you say, my father and I will soon end up in trouble.”

After saying these serious words, Luo Ziling asked the two again: “Is this your idea? Or my dad’s plan? Or someone else’s suggestion? Did someone else want you to do this?”

“We hope you’ll fully join us.” Phoenix said earnestly looking at Luo Ziling, “We hope, after this upcoming action, you can stand with us shoulder to shoulder. We need talent like you, and Lin Lan also needs you by her side for protection.”

Hearing Phoenix say this, and seeing Lin Lan’s slightly embarrassed expression, Luo Ziling seemed to realize something.

If this is truly Phoenix’s decision, then she has personal motives—her motives are for Lin Lan; she wants to create more opportunities for Lin Lan to be with him, allowing Lin Lan to properly be with him.

But unexpectedly, just as he was thinking this, Phoenix seriously explained: “Don’t misunderstand, we purely consider this from a strategic level. If you’re by our side, our safety has better protection, and your dad will make fewer mistakes; even if someone plots against him, don’t worry as much. With you around, he’ll be fine!”

Luo Ziling was already confused by Phoenix and after thinking seriously for a moment, he finally shook his head: “I still don’t agree with your explanation nor support your idea. If we follow what you said, I think the cons outweigh the pros. It might bring huge trouble to both me and my dad. Moreover, my mom surely won’t agree with me fully joining Dragon Rise.”

Having said these, he looked at Lin Lan and gently said: “The most correct approach is for me to completely withdraw from Dragon Rise, that would be most beneficial for my dad.”

Luo Ziling’s words left Phoenix and Lin Lan in silence.

They obviously didn’t reveal all their thoughts to Luo Ziling, thinking they’d said enough to persuade him, unexpectedly he still refused.

Right then, Phoenix angrily questioned Luo Ziling: “Are you truly willing to watch Lin Lan face life and death alone?”

Luo Ziling looked at Lin Lan, then at Phoenix: “Then let her retire. I’ll arrange her future for her!”

Phoenix instantly deflated, waving impatiently at Luo Ziling, looking reluctant to talk to him: “Forget it, talking to you is useless; let’s pretend we never proposed this suggestion! You’re such an idiot!”

“I still want to know, why are you thinking this way? What’s the most important main purpose?” Luo Ziling frowned and asked Phoenix, “I find it strange. If this matter is important, you should’ve told me this as soon as you arrived, not after staying so long together, then discussing it.”

After a moment of silence, Phoenix finally revealed the main reason: “We suspect an elder in Dragon Rise wants to kill your dad, and clearing us all in the process, so we need you to join and help eliminate him. This is something we can’t do ourselves but only borrow your hand. After all, you are more capable than us in some areas.”

Luo Ziling looked at Phoenix with suspicion for a few moments, unhappily saying: “So were you lying to me about all those things before?”

“No!” Phoenix shook her head, “Those were also our true thoughts. We made such a suggestion precisely because of the multiple advantageous results we see. We know things might not look good, but we trust in your capabilities. You can twist influential figures around, dealing with Dragon Rise’s people wouldn’t be an issue. We don’t want to deceive you, and won’t deceive you, just some things are better left unsaid.”

Luo Ziling couldn’t help but reach out to Phoenix, wanting to touch her face.
