Chapter 2281: 2281: Wuyue's Speculation

Capítulo 2281: Chapter 2281: Wuyue’s Speculation

While Yang Yunlin and Yang Yuanshan were talking, Luo Ziling was messaging with Yang Qingyin.

“I had a lot going on today. I wanted to come see you, but I was in a rush to get back to discuss something with my mom. I’m really sorry!”

After Luo Ziling sent the message, Yang Qingyin quickly replied: “It’s okay, I know you’re busy today, and I don’t have much going on either. Tomorrow’s the final exam, and I have to take it, no failing! I’m a top student, and I have to defend my honor and status as one.”

“I have to take the final exam too. Whether I pass or not, I still have to take it!”

“What if you score a zero?” Yang Qingyin teased Luo Ziling, “I think, since you rarely attend class, it’s easy for you to get a zero!”

“Scoring a zero is much harder than scoring full marks. With so many multiple-choice questions, you can’t score zero even with your eyes closed.”

After a few casual exchanges, Yang Qingyin brought the topic back to today’s matter: “Will there still be trouble?”

“Definitely!” Luo Ziling thought for a moment, then realized something was wrong, “I have a test to take tomorrow morning.”

Tomorrow morning, he was supposed to meet with Li Haiyang and Ouyang Feifei to present to the inspection team, but Counselor He Yongping had already informed him of a test in the morning and two in the afternoon, which he must attend.

The message from He Yongping was about reassuring him to take the tests fully focused, not worrying about the scores.

The words from He Yongping carried deep meaning, and Luo Ziling understood them.

However, he found scheduling his time a bit difficult.

Li Haiyang’s appointment was at nine in the morning, while the test was to start at 8:30.

He couldn’t complete the test in just half an hour.

Even if he could, getting there would also take time.

The navigation showed it would take about half an hour to get there.

That means that if he took the test, he would arrive at least half an hour late compared to the agreed time.

“What’s up?” Yang Qingyin asked in surprise, “Encountered another issue?”

“I have to go for an investigation tomorrow but also need to take a test!”

“How about you excuse yourself from the test and ask the teacher to arrange a make-up?” Yang Qingyin suggested to Luo Ziling, “You could explain the situation to Dean Wu, he should approve!”

“Forget it, I won’t ask for special treatment; I’ll just go later and say the traffic was too bad and I got stuck!”

“If you make them feel you’re being dismissive, they might have a very poor attitude towards you!” Yang Qingyin reminded him.

“Whatever, it’s their own fault for making a fuss!” Luo Ziling suddenly made a decision, “They can wait if they want. I have a test to take, that’s a major life event, and I haven’t done anything wrong. Even cooperating with their investigation should be on my schedule.”

Yang Qingyin knew Luo Ziling was doing this intentionally, and she was still worried, so she reminded him again: “Aren’t you afraid of complicating things by being so reckless?”

“Since I dared to provoke someone of Yan Shiliang’s rank, why not play around with the investigator too? It’s no big deal!” Luo Ziling replied to Yang Qingyin with a chuckle, “That’s my decision. I’m ignoring them for now, focusing on the test first. After all, this isn’t just a minor issue but a huge event with far-reaching implications. Since it started because of me, showing some attitude shouldn’t matter.”

—————–

Luo Ziling really kept his “promise” and took the final exam on time.

When Ouyang Feifei heard about this from Luo Ziling, she was utterly shocked.

Li Haiyang, upon learning of this, wasn’t surprised, just chuckled.

He sent word to Luo Ziling, telling him to finish the exam first, and he would handle things on that end for now.

With such a response from Li Haiyang, Luo Ziling felt relieved.

The subject tested this morning was English.

Luo Ziling had no interest in English and had barely attended any English classes.

Most of the English questions were multiple-choice, and Luo Ziling hardly looked at the content, choosing between B and C for most questions. After finishing all the questions, he waited until the half-hour required to submit the paper had passed before handing it in.

Amidst the amazement of the students, Luo Ziling tossed the exam sheet and dashed out of the classroom, heading to the parking lot, where he got into the car driven by Wuyue waiting there. After he got in, Wuyue immediately drove away from the parking lot towards the inspection team’s location.

On the way, Wuyue shared the latest updates with Luo Ziling.

“The Fang Family actually made their position clear?” Wuyue’s information greatly surprised Luo Ziling, “Aren’t both Wu Jiangshan and Yan Shiliang directly related to them?”

“Perhaps they’re dissatisfied with those two and want to replace them,” Wuyue speculated, “It seems the Fang Family played a trick on them. In this incident, these two clearly followed the Chen Family’s instructions, which might have angered Fang Xiang.”

Wuyue’s insights stemmed from her team’s investigations and information gathered by Wang Zhenjun and Yang Xiaodong.

“I see!” Luo Ziling felt a sudden clarity.

Wuyue continued, “The Yang Family hasn’t shown any response, indicating they weren’t involved at all. Moreover, the Chen Family hasn’t reacted, probably because they didn’t anticipate such complexity. Perhaps they feel trapped.”

“I’m not crafty enough to set traps!” Luo Ziling shook his head, “I just wanted to pull my grandpa into these matters. They didn’t expect me to throw a tantrum at Yan Shiliang yesterday morning, then immediately target my father and the people at Dragon Rise. My intent was to show them I have my grandpa backing me, so they shouldn’t mess with me. Unexpectedly, they acted immediately. I almost thought I shot myself in the foot.”

“Young master!” Wuyue hesitated for a moment but then shared another suspicion in her mind: “Do you think there might be elements we don’t understand? Perhaps your Great Grandfather is directing someone for his purpose. Also, could others at Dragon Rise be using this incident to eliminate dissent?”

“It’s quite normal if my Great Grandfather uses this event for something,” Luo Ziling nodded, acknowledging Wuyue’s earlier suspicion, but asked confusedly: “What are you referring to with your latter point? Who are the people at Dragon Rise? Li Haiyang, Phoenix, or Lin Lan?”

“I’m not sure,” Wuyue shook her head, “Just that Phoenix, for someone so young, holds the position of captain at Dragon Rise, indicating she’s probably not simple.”

Luo Ziling was further surprised: “You’re suspecting she’s using our influence to remove rivals?”

Wuyue dared not comment further.
