Laderās eyes trembled.
"Was it that man from the other day?"
That man left an indelible impression on Lader.
His first instinct was that it was him.
The facts proved he wasnāt mistaken.
Gu Shengyin answered his question with silence.
Lader was a bit unwilling: "When did you start? I was by your side for five years."
"If weāre talking about time, Iām afraid I was earlier than you." A deep, indifferent voice came from behind.
Lin Ze walked out from the shadows at the corner, it was unknown how much of their earlier conversation he overheard.
"Before Changhuan went abroad, we were already acquainted."
The two men faced each other for the first time.
Lader was not willing to show weakness: "What does knowing her earlier than me matter? Iāve known her for five years and she never mentioned having a boyfriend."
Lin Ze was equally rude: "This is between the two of us. Whatever happens between Changhuan and me has nothing to do with an outsider like you,"
Not in front of Gu Shengyin or anyone else, Lin Zeās intelligence was always evident.
Though Lin Ze was arguing with Lader, his eyes were bright, and if one looked closely, there was even a hint of joy in them.
How could he not be pleased?
Even though Changhuan hadnāt told him directly, she admitted in front of another man, one who was pursuing her, that the person she liked was him.
Lader was left speechless by Lin Zeās words and turned his head to look at Gu Shengyin.
At this moment, it was undoubtedly Gu Shengyinās decision that was key.
Gu Shengyin glanced at Lader, at this moment, she could only make one choice.
"Lader, please leave first, I have something to discuss with him."
Laderās beautiful blue eyes dimmed.
He looked deeply at Gu Shengyin: "Changhuan, do I really have no chance at all?"
Gu Shengyin looked at him: "Lader, my intentions have always been clear, you are a very good friend."
And only a very good friend.
Lader suddenly laughed, shrugging his shoulders: "Alright then, Changhuan, I wish you happiness."
Gu Shengyin also smiled: "Thank you."
Lader left quite freely, but when he reached a place out of sight of the two, he stopped and leaned against the wall.
It was still a little painful, he thought.
For the first time in his life, he wanted to seriously start a relationship.
But it ended before it even began.
Only Gu Shengyin and Lin Ze remained here.
"Changhuan." Lin Ze called Gu Shengyin.
His eyes were sparkling, reminding Gu Shengyin of a child who had received their favorite candyāeven though comparing Lin Ze to candy seemed a bit inappropriate.
"Letās find a place to talk." Gu Shengyin looked around the not-so-secluded hall. If someone eavesdropped again, tomorrowās newspapers would be buzzing.
The two chose a nearby place.
Lin Zeās mood was excellent, it was obvious to anyone.
Though he didnāt show a smile, his entire aura was incredibly gentle. If Secretary Wang saw him here, he would definitely doubt whether something was wrong with his boss.
"Changhuan, I am very happy right now."
Gu Shengyin looked at him: "Whatās there to be happy about?"
Lin Ze laughed.
He rarely laughed, though describing a grown man as stunning might seem odd, Gu Shengyin had to admit, she was indeed stunned.
"Bang!" Her thoughts were interrupted, and when she looked up, she met the apologetic gaze of a waiter.
"Sorry, you two, Iāll immediately replace your drinks." The tray she held clearly showed one of the beverages had spilled quite a bit.
