Five months later, Jiang Yue made his way from the centre of the mine to the back. After that, it was easy to find the cave entrance, but he didnât enter right away.
Instead, he spent three days adjusting his breath before he was ready to go in.
âItâs too bad that I didnât discover much about the cave.â He thought and sighed.
When they entered the thousand herbs garden, they knew they would encounter dangerous plants but no demonic beasts.
However, he did not know what dangers to expect from the cave of the Lu family ancestor. The only thing he knew was that the gravity in the cave was several times stronger than the mine.
âI hope itâs worth it.â He took a deep breath and walked into the cave.
As soon as he entered the cave, a formation activated around him.
Jiang Yue hadnât discovered the formation before he walked into the cave, and now that he did, it was too late to turn back.
With his formation mastery, he immediately knew he couldnât break it by brute force or skill.
Fortunately, he didnât feel any malicious intent from the formation, and investigation revealed it was a regular isolation formation.
Unless Jiang Yue fulfilled the formation masterâs condition, he would be trapped in the formation until the secret realm closed.
However, this was not necessarily a bad thing.
First, the formation wouldnât allow others to his location, which meant he would be safe for the remaining time. Even if he couldnât find a way out, he could settle down to study the isolation formation.
âWhat I lack most is a formation inheritance.â He thought and looked at the isolation formation longingly.
However, Jiang Yue still wanted to explore the cave. As such, he shelved the idea of studying the isolation formation and looked around the room.
He found he was in an empty room.
Its walls, ceiling, and floor were made of rough brown stone. All the surfaces were covered by a thick layer of dust, and he sneezed when he accidentally kicked up a cloud.
âIt doesnât look like anyone has been here for dozens of years.â He thought and frowned.
This surprised him since the small secret realm was frequently opened.
Even if the cave had many rooms, Jiang Yue couldnât fathom why a room that was seemingly at the entrance had accumulated so much dust.
âIt doesnât matter. My first priority is to find a way out.â
Without hesitation, he activated a dust-removing talisman, and half the room was cleaned up. Subsequently, he activated another talisman, and the remaining half was also cleaned.
"Door?" Jiang Yue exclaimed happily.
With the dust, he hadnât realised there was a door in one of the walls. Now that he saw it, he hurried to the door but didnât touch it.
He knew many tombs and caves had dangerous mechanisms. If he was careless, he wouldnât know how he died, and Jiang Yue didnât want that outcome.
âI will try to find an opening mechanism first.â He thought and began searching for a latch or method to open the door.
However, he found nothing after searching for an hour.
At this, Jiang Yue was not discouraged. He circulated his qi and launched an attack at the door.
Unfortunately, he was an illusion cultivator, and physical attacks were not his strong suit.
"I wonder if my primordial fire can do the trick." He muttered, and a flame appeared in his hand.
However, before he could throw the flame, he suddenly had an idea.
From what he knew, the ancestor of the Lu family was a body refiner. In that case, the tests should be based on body refining.
After coming to that conclusion, Jiang Yue recovered his primordial flame and exerted the flame body refining technique. He then gathered his force value on his feet and kicked the stone door.
A moment later, something that looked like a gauge appeared on the doorâs surface.
This gauge had three striations. The lowest layer was white, the middle was light blue, and the topmost was blue. Each of the three striations was further divided into ten parts, and each part was an inch long.
As Jiang Yue watched, a fire-coloured substance rose from the bottom of the gauge and climbed to the fifth part of the blue layer.
Soon after, the stone chamber shook, and the door slid to reveal a passage.
"Lucky!" He exclaimed and entered the path.
When he did this, the door closed behind him, and wall scones lit up as he walked along.
This walk took three hours before the path opened to another stone chamber.
However, this stone chamber was vastly different from the previous one.
As soon as he entered, the roomâs gravity shot up, and Jiang Yue stooped from the pressure.
He tried to stay upright but couldnât help it.
In the end, he sat cross-legged and began circulating the flame body refining technique.
At first, the technique couldnât run smoothly due to excessive gravity, but this was the effect he needed. By forcibly running the flame body refining technique, his body continued to improve.
After two months, he accustomed to the gravity in the stone room, but he didnât try to leave. This was because there was a gravity formation in the room.
Unlike the isolation formation, the gravity formation was relatively rare.
If he wanted to study it, Jiang Yue could only hope to encounter its map.
However, encountering the formation was also an opportunity.
Although studying the formation map was less tiresome than studying the formation, Jiang Yue wasnât picky.
As long as he could learn the gravity formation, he could arrange it in the ancient palace for future training.
Once he made a decision, Jiang Yue did not hesitate.
He arranged an extra protective formation and settled down to retreat. Time passed in this way, and it was not until three months later that Jiang Yue stood up.
He had learned the gravity formation, but this was not his only gain.
When he started learning, Jiang Yue didnât know that the formation in the room was an ancient formation.
After finding out, he thought about giving up since he didnât have any reference points for ancient arrangements.
However, he was reluctant to give up the opportunity, so he forced himself.
Three months later, he could arrange the gravity formation, although he didnât fully understand the ancient elements of the array.
In perspective, Jiang Yue could use the ancient elements to arrange the gravity formation but couldnât apply them to other arrays.
âI need a basic understanding of ancient formations before I try comprehending the advanced stuff.â He sighed.
However, ancient formations were top inheritances in the Cangxing world, and he had no way of getting one.
For the time being, he couldnât dwell on it because it was more urgent to enter more rooms.
Although he didnât know if he would find resources in other rooms, he didnât care if he didnât. His priority was training opportunities, and everything else was a bonus.
With expectation in his heart, Jiang Yue kicked the roomâs door, and a gauge appeared on the door.
The gauge was similar to the previous one, but this time, his force level reached the sixth part of the blue layer.
"Does this mean that my body improved by one point?" He wondered and quickly examined his body.
Without a doubt, his body had improved, and this motivated him to hurry along the following passage.
Since he didnât need to study the gravity formations in the following rooms, Jiang Yue used three months to cultivate in four stone rooms.
After the fourth, he sighed and looked a little lost.
âIs this the end?â He wondered.
He had become a little addicted to body training. After so long, he even had the illusion that if he continued in this way, he would be able to defeat Yu Nianzhen in a physical fight.
Unfortunately, there was no eternal banquet.
He had filled all the parts on the gauge, and he didnât think there were more training rooms ahead.
Still, Jiang Yue kicked the door, and to his surprise, the door opened into a cavern. The cavern was wide, and a dozen people were frantically searching for hidden treasures.
âThis should be the ancestorâs actual abode.â He concluded.
Jiang Yue looked around and saw that the cave was different from the previous stone rooms.
Not only was it bigger, it wasnât as empty.
At a glance, Jiang Yue noticed a pit on one side of the cavern.
The pit was mouldy around the circumference, and he guessed it was originally a spiritual pond.
Unfortunately, Jiang Yue was too late. The spiritual water had long been emptied, and the pond was nothing more than an empty pit.
Other than the pit, there was a cultivation mat that seemed rooted to the ground.
However, someone had already occupied the mat, and Jiang Yue could only wait his turn to experience its effect.
âIs there really nothing?â He wondered dejectedly.
Although he had expected this result, he was still disappointed.
With a sigh, he moved to a corner, wanting to sit down to cultivate.
However, before he could do so, a thought crossed his mind, âwhy is there no extra gravity in this cavern?â
