âWelp...it looks barely good, I guess.â
Soren thought, looking at his status panel.
Currently, he was in his dormitory inside the Elite Hunter Academy. After returning from the WhiteLeaf forest, they were given a day of rest.
Of course, it was more due to the death of Professor Ruther. Most students only came to know about that after entering the academy, finally realizing the severity of the situation.
No wonder they were called back.
This might be the first case in the history of the Elite Hunter Academy where they lost their professor in a practical training meant for a new batch.
Their complaint that they were summoned back so quickly died down after that.
âBut...as much as it seems good, it is just...not enough.â
Soren suddenly frowned at the empty Free stat points.
These days, he was quite busy power leveling up his teammates to prepare them for the D-rank dungeon. He was so busy that he didnât even get to complete the daily quest with Elise.
And the result was that he had no points left.
He already used everything he had in his luck inside the Abyss.
âThis wonât do. I need as many free stat points as I can get.â
His opponent was a bona fide Demon Lord after all. Who knew when she would flip and come for his head?
Not to mention, Soren found that his mana was still in the low rank with 157 points.
Although he had been compensating with the mana cores he gathered from the C-rank dungeon all this time, he was now running out of them.
Even if he could always buy them, Soren felt that he should think about his base stat too.
âCome to think of it, there is that A-rank mana core I needed too.â
Soren thought, his expression going bitter all of a sudden.
To evolve his A-rank class two times, he needed the help of at least an A-rank mana core.
But how rare and expensive was that?
He, who hadnât even reached level 50 yet, should forget about getting such a thing. Even if he could ask Owen, how could he pay up?
Just buying some mana core to support his skills would bankrupt everything he had. Isolde alone took a lot of material and credit points for those artifacts from him.
With each increase in tier rank, the cost of the items increased in this world. Fortunately, he was a student of the Elite Hunter Academy and could use the credit points to purchase things cheaply.
But not everything was available in the academy after all.
âHm...it seems I should start getting active outside the academy. Maybe, start my own guild?â
This was one of the ideas Soren had when he activated the Link feature before.
And it wasnât just a random thought he had.
As someone who had played this game, Soren knew about this world far more than a student should.
For once, he knew how brutal the world after graduating from the Academy was.
Power, corruption, deceit, danger, greed, betrayal, and violence were common everywhere. In fact, it was more rampant on the outskirts of the country of Arden.
As much as he would like to be optimistic, he knew this world wasnât at all peaceful. Just the Crucible attacks alone proved that.
So, if Soren wanted to survive, he had to become strong and fast. The appearance of Isabella, Crucible, and even Demon Lord Lilith had put him on edge.
But to become strong, he needed to level up, and that was only possible if he cleared one dungeon after another.
However, why would anyone let you get such a lucrative place for nothing?
The D-rank clearance token alone proved how hard it was to enter a dungeon in this country.
For once, Soren knew that entering an A-rank dungeon without being part of a powerful guild or some force holding considerable influence was completely impossible.
But joining them had its disadvantages too. You would be heavily restricted just like the protagonist Evan, which Soren didnât like.
âHm...but I canât open a guild so easily. At least...I need an investor first.â
Soren was a dirt-poor person with no background. If this were a medieval setting, he was just a commoner.
With such a start, it would be hard for him to even get approved for the establishment of the guild.
âCome to think of it...wasnât there a character in the game who was quite rich?â
Soren suddenly thought hard, remembering the faces of the students in the new batch.
Besides people like Morgan, Darius, and Aurelia, who clearly had a heavy background, there were others who came from different backgrounds.
Like the richest investor in the Hunter sector of the country of Ardent.
âAh...Mireya Solhart. Wasnât she the daughter of Magnus Solhart?â
Soren finally remembered.
*Knock...knock!*
"Hm?"
However, just as he was about to recall, he heard a light knock on the door of his room followed by an envelope slipping from the bottom of the door.
"Who?"
Startled, Soren stood up abruptly and opened the door only to see the corridor completely empty.
Whoever the person was behind this had already disappeared.
âSo fast?â
He didnât even sense the personâs existence until he heard the knock.
âWhat is this?â
Since the person had already disappeared, there was little he could do. Soren just closed the door and then looked at the envelope right below him.
For a moment, he hesitated to directly pick it up and instead used â
Eye of Insight
â on it.
The moment he did so, a panel appeared before him filled with text.

[Item: Secret Love Letter]
[Rank: D]
[Origin: Unknown; delivered through concealed means with no registered sender.]
[Effect: Can only be opened by the intended recipient. If opened by anyone else, the letter will automatically destroy itself before being read.]
[Note: The sender has taken strict measures to ensure complete privacy, preventing interception or forced viewing. No trap is embedded within the item itself.]

âThis...â
Just the description wasnât something Soren thought he would see at all. For a moment, he was completely dumbfounded as he stood still, looking at the envelope.
âSecret Love Letter? Who is sending me a love letter?â
For a moment, Soren thought of Aurelia, Aria, and Sylvia and shook his head. They didnât have such a weird habit.
As for Elise, there was no need to do such things after what they had gone through.
âDoes that mean my charm has finally begun working? Or is it a prank?â
Soren didnât know it, but looking at the faint smirk playing on his lips, he seemed to be enjoying it a bit too much.
âForget it. Just open it, and you will know.â
Soren thought and picked up the envelope before settling on his bed.
The envelope was just like any other envelope, made of paper. For a moment, Soren doubted how it could be a D-rank artifact.
Not to mention, why would someone waste such an artifact just to send him this?
Too many questions, but Soren was too lazy to ponder them. Instead, he poured a bit of mana into the envelope tentatively.
The moment he did so, the envelope suddenly ignited on its own.
Before he could react, it burned away without ash, and the remnants abruptly floated upward, transforming into letters that hovered in the air.
Only...when he read through them, his lips couldnât help but twitch, speechless.

Dear Soren,
Iâve been too shy to talk to you, so Iâm writing this instead. Iâve thought about speaking to you many times, but I always lost my courage when I tried. Especially since you are so popular with girls.
But I canât stop myself anymore. I think, I-I like you. I think about you every day. The way you smile and how kind you are make my heart race.
I get nervous whenever youâre near. Unfortunately, it seems you already have someone. To be honest, I was a bit sad, until...
Until I saw you with another girl, then another....
