The Poisonous Skeleton Long Spear danced through the air. Each sweep claimed the lives of several Zombies, smashing any that drew near into pulp as if they were hit by giant boulders.
Moreover, Fang Zhouâs mount, the Yellow Springs Nightmare, was an exceptional killer in its own right.
As it continued to evolve, it constantly spewed clouds of Nether Flames from its mouth and nostrils. These flames were completely different from ordinary fire and were extremely difficult to extinguish.
Even when the afflicted Zombies rolled frantically on the ground, they could not put out the flames.
More importantly, these flames didnât just harm the physical body; they could also directly burn the soulâspecifically, the Soul Fire of the Undead.
Simultaneously, the Nightmareâs four hooves began to blaze with that same eerie blue fire, leaving a trail of scorched earth wherever it galloped.
This burning path was not without purpose.
Fang Zhou had tested the tactic of "to catch the bandits, first capture their king" many times before.
For low-level Undead Creatures like Zombies and Skeletons, as long as their Lord was killed, their minds would go temporarily blank before they descended into a frenzy of mutual slaughter.
This was because when any Undead creature submitted to a Lord, it would offer a wisp of its Soul Fire to him.
The Lord would not, and could not, absorb this wisp of Soul Fire.
To master their Soul Fire was to master their loyalty.
If the Lordâs Soul Fire dissipated, the wisps of Soul Fire that the low-level Undead Creatures had offered him would return to their bodies, turning them back into masterless beings.
Therefore, from beginning to end, Fang Zhouâs goal was crystal clear.
He would lead the Corpse Knight Order, charge the Giant Zombie Lord, and kill him.
However, the target Fang Zhou considered his prey was still dizzy and confused. The Corpse Knightsâ charge was simply too fast; once it gained momentum, it was unstoppable. Before the Giant Zombie Lord could even understand what was happening, he saw two battalions of Corpse Knights bearing down on him.
At the very front, Fang Zhou wore a sinister smile, a clear sign that this was no opponent to be taken lightly.
The Giant Zombie Lord immediately roared, intending to summon his Zombie Guards. However, he suddenly discovered there was hardly anyone left around him.
While he had been excitedly leading the charge, his troops had been whittled down and devoured piece by piece.
Now... he was left to fight alone.
The Giant Zombie Lord spun around abruptly. As an Undead Lord of high intelligence, he wasnât afraid of death, but he wouldnât die for nothing. He chose to flee, hoping to break through the encirclement and find some chance of survival.
But Fang Zhou had no intention of letting him escape.
"Death Energy Slash!"
Fang Zhou drew his spear and threw it. The motion was seamless, as if he had performed it a million times.
Fang Zhouâs Death Energy Slash unerringly struck the fleeing Giant Zombie Lord.
The Light Blade pierced through his body and exploded violently, sending the Giant Zombie Lord flying.
Fang Zhou reined in the Yellow Springs Nightmare and prepared to approach the Giant Zombie Lord for a closer look.
He slowly guided his warhorse to a stop beside the fallen Lord.
Half of the Giant Zombie Lordâs body had been blown off, and the remaining portion was a gruesome sight.
But Fang Zhou frowned. The Soul Fire hadnât spilled out, which meant the Lord wasnât dead yet.
Suddenly, the Giant Zombie Lord, who had been lying motionless on the ground, sprang into the air, his sharp claws swiping rapidly toward Fang Zhou.
Fang Zhouâs gaze turned cold. He prepared to cut down the Zombie feigning death with a single strike of his spear.
At the Giant Zombie Lordâs speed, his attack should have landed on Fang Zhou.
However, Fang Zhou was protected by his Death Shield, and he was one hundred percent confident he could pierce the enemyâs skull at the same moment.
However, the Giant Zombie Lordâs agility and cunning exceeded Fang Zhouâs expectations. His true intention wasnât to attack Fang Zhou at all. Instead, he slapped hard against the Poisonous Skeleton Long Spear, using the force of the blow to launch himself far away.
The price for this maneuver was his two claws. One was severed by the Poisonous Skeleton Long Spear, while the other was horribly corroded by its Corrosive Poison.
Fang Zhou let out a cold laugh and spurred his mount forward, sending any Zombies in his path flying.
The Giant Zombie Lord was still fighting for his life, dodging and weaving through the chaotic Battle Array.
He completely ignored the attacks from the other Tomb Undead, as they couldnât inflict any significant damage on him anyway.
But his ability to dodge didnât mean he could escape his fate.
Suddenly, a sharp hook shot out from a crowd of Tomb Undead, snagging the Giant Zombie Lordâs body and causing him to stumble.
Sainâs Control Skill had created a precious opening for Fang Zhou.
"Death Charge!"
Fang Zhouâs Poisonous Skeleton Long Spear suddenly appeared from an angle the Giant Zombie Lord never expected. Without the slightest pause, it stabbed toward his neck and pierced straight through his skull.
The Giant Zombie Lord had fallen!
...
As he slowly absorbed the Soul Fire spilling from the fallen Giant Zombie Lord, Fang Zhou felt that he was once again on the verge of evolution.
