’Still, how did this guy follow me out here?’

"What’s it to you?"

She turned and glared at him, then went back to finding the precise location. Time was short, and she had none to spare for bickering with this guy.

"I can’t control you when you’re acting crazy, but if you’re planning to harm us, then I have to get involved!"

Si Xie snorted. In the next instant, his figure flashed as he kicked off the wall, appearing beside her with the grace of a phantom.

’I’ll watch this damn woman like a hawk. I absolutely won’t give her any opportunity to harm them.’

"When I have a spare moment, I’ll be sure to take you to get your head checked. But for now, move aside. Don’t get in my way!"

Speechless, Jiang Yunnuan rolled her eyes and mercilessly reached out to shove the man blocking her path.

However, though he looked lean, the man was immensely strong. He stood there like a wall of steel, and she couldn’t budge him an inch.

’Damn it, he’s standing on a spot I haven’t stepped on yet.’

"You’re the one with a sick brain! If anyone needs their head checked, it’s you!"

Si Xie retorted, refusing to back down.

"Are you asking for a beating?"

Her patience gone, Jiang Yunnuan stood on her tiptoes and forcefully grabbed his ear.

A Beastman’s ears were exceptionally sensitive. The moment she pinched him, a devastating, tingling numbness swept through his entire body. Si Xie’s tail twitched, and he couldn’t help but let out a groan. The sound made Jiang Yunnuan’s own ears burn and her knees go weak.

Her eyes went wide, her mind completely blank.

’How could this guy make such a shameless sound?’

’I just pinched his ear. Did he actually get off on that?’

"Let go!!!"

Furious with embarrassment, Si Xie’s expression instantly turned cold and vicious. His pair of beautiful, captivating, silver-white eyes stared daggers at her, as if he wanted to devour her alive.

Her check-in task wasn’t complete yet, and Jiang Yunnuan had no time to get entangled with him. So, as soon as he spoke, she let him go.

She pointed to a spot she had already stepped on. "If you insist on watching, fine. Go stand over there and don’t move. Otherwise, I’ll call Jun Yao out here to throw you off."

Hearing this, Si Xie gritted his teeth in anger. ’Damn woman, she’s learning! She actually learned how to use someone else’s power to throw her weight around!’

What infuriated him even more was that Jun Yao might actually listen to her.

He remembered catching Jun Yao leaving her room that afternoon. He had immediately gone up to taunt him, but the man hadn’t even had to lift a finger. His sheer presence alone had been so overwhelming that Si Xie couldn’t even stand up straight. Si Xie could still feel the phantom ache in his bones from the memory.

He snorted coldly and, without another word, walked to the spot she had indicated.

’Damn woman. Just wait until after the Contract Termination. We’ll see how I teach you a lesson then!’

Seeing that he knew what was good for him, Jiang Yunnuan didn’t press him with any more taunts. Instead, she focused on seriously stepping on the required spots.

The rooftop wasn’t small. To cover every inch without missing a spot would take a lot of time, so Jiang Yunnuan couldn’t help but speed up.

Watching her walk back and forth in what seemed like a completely random pattern, Si Xie’s eyes narrowed. The image of her in Ming Ye’s room subconsciously surfaced in his mind.

This scene and that one—aside from the different locations, they were practically identical.

’What in the world is this damn woman doing?’

’It’s like she’s on a treasure hunt, but not quite. What secret is she hiding from them?’

Just as he was lost in thought, he saw the woman heading down the stairs. He snapped back to reality and immediately followed.

"Damn woman, are you done with your business?"

Jiang Yunnuan had just been about to check her check-in reward when the man’s punchable voice sounded in her ear. She abruptly stopped and turned to face him.

The man stood on a higher step, while she was two steps below him. Combined with their significant height difference, she only came up to his waist.

’This won’t do.’

"You, get down here!"

She reached out and pointed to the steps below her.

Hearing this, Si Xie raised an eyebrow, his rebellious streak instinctively flaring up.

"You tell me to get down here, and I’m supposed to just do it? Why should I listen to you? I’m not going!"

Jiang Yunnuan: "..."

’This damn bastard is rebellious to a fault. Once my Cultivation is strong enough, I’m going to beat him until he kneels and calls me Daddy.’

"Suit yourself. Since you have no intention of having a civil conversation, then please don’t talk to me in the future. It’ll be better for both of us."

With that, she turned and strode down the stairs.

’She’s really just leaving like that?’

Si Xie stared in astonishment at her gracefully departing back, and his anger flared. ’Damn woman, why does she have such a temper?’

’All I did was talk back a little. Does she really have to be like this?’

Then, a thought struck him, and his expression instantly darkened. He quickened his pace to catch up. Jiang Yunnuan had just stepped into the villa when her wrist was suddenly seized from behind.

She looked up and saw Si Xie’s bewitchingly beautiful face. The man’s eyes were narrowed, his stunning features tinged with a hint of gloom.

"What do you want now? Are you ever going to stop?"

Jiang Yunnuan frowned, her eyes filled with utter annoyance. Her tone was harsh. Seeing this, Si Xie’s expression grew even uglier.

He pursed his lips, his narrowed eyes fixed on her as he said in a low voice, "Tonight, and that time in Ming Ye’s room... what exactly are you doing?"

"What does it have to do with you? Is it any of your business? If you’re really that bored, go run a mission. Have you even counted how long it’s been since you last went on one?"

Jiang Yunnuan was well and truly sick of him!

’This guy. Whenever I ask him to do something, he always opposes me, constantly questioning why he should listen to me.’

’Now I don’t want to talk to him, and he decides to stick his nose in my business.’

’How ridiculous. As if he has any right to manage my affairs.’

"Why wouldn’t it have anything to do with me? What if you’re trying to harm us? As long as we’re living together, everything you do has something to do with me."

Si Xie responded through gritted teeth, his eyes narrowed and his face ashen with anger.

"Then why don’t you tell me? All I did was walk around on the roof. How could that possibly harm you?"

If he knew, he wouldn’t have had to ask her.

Seeing his silence, Jiang Yunnuan rolled her eyes and sneered.

"What, can’t come up with anything? See? You have no evidence at all. You just slander me based on your own speculation and relentlessly pester me. Si Xie, has no one ever told you that you act like a mad dog sometimes?"

"You’re the dog! But you’re not a mad dog, you’re a lapdog—Ling Ze’s lapdog! What evidence do I need to be wary of you trying to harm us? How is that slander? Haven’t you caused us enough harm already?"

He retorted viciously. His words made a vein throb on Jiang Yunnuan’s temple. ’This guy’s mouth is truly venomous. A single lick would probably be enough to poison himself.’

"What does any of that have to do with the person I am now? That was the old me. The current me isn’t taking the blame for her actions. Forget it, I can’t be bothered to waste my breath on you. Let go of me, I’m going to sleep!"

With that, she tried to wrench her arm free, but he held on tight, his expression ugly as he stared at her.

"What, are you just going to disown everything you’ve done in the past? And besides, didn’t you promise that we would undergo Contract Termination in three months? Why are you still sleeping with Jun Yao?"
