Chapter 84 - 61: You Bastard, Stop Ruining My Reputation

In an unnoticed corner, a strange glint flashed across Si Xie’s eyes.

’So, Jiang Wanwan really has experienced Rebirth. And she has a system, too. She was just talking to it, asking how Jiang Yunnuan could know about her space.’

’Unfortunately, I don’t know what the system said.’

’I wonder if Jiang Yunnuan’s secret has been exposed.’

Si Xie clenched his fists. He wanted to tell Jiang Yunnuan about this, but he gritted his teeth and held back.

Jiang Yunnuan had a system of her own; she likely already knew Jiang Wanwan had one, too. Telling her wouldn’t accomplish anything and would instead risk exposing his Mind Reading Technique.

It would be a small matter if Jiang Yunnuan’s system discovered his Mind Reading Technique, but if Jiang Wanwan’s system found out, it might deliberately feed him false information in the future.

’I’ll just wait and see!’

"Is Sister having an episode? How could she think up something so preposterous?"

Jiang Wanwan smiled faintly and spoke in a calm, unhurried voice.

She knew the old saying all too well: an innocent man gets into trouble only because he possesses a treasure.

The covetous stares from all around made her skin crawl.

If she couldn’t properly refute Jiang Yunnuan’s accusations today, she feared countless people would be watching her, both openly and in secret.

As soon as she said this, half of the covetous gazes vanished.

They found it much easier to believe that Jiang Yunnuan was losing her mind and spouting incredible nonsense than to believe in the existence of a dimensional space, Elixir Pills, or Divine Artifacts.

Jiang Yunnuan wasn’t surprised by this outcome.

Seeing is believing.

At the sight, Si Xie quickly reached out and pulled Jiang Yunnuan behind him, shielding her.

He beamed at Ling Ze, his words infuriating enough to kill.

"Oh dear. I know you’ve lost face now that you know Nuannuan wasn’t actually trying to pursue you, but there’s no need to be *so* angry~"

"You already have a Contract Master, so why should you care whether my Nuannuan truly likes you? Or are you not satisfied with what you have and still coveting another? Now, that would be wrong of you. Are you sure you’re not afraid of making your Contract Master unhappy?"

With that, he turned to Jiang Wanwan, who stood to the side, and winked, speaking with deliberate provocation.

"Miss Jiang, you’d better keep a close eye on your Contractor. As a fellow Beastman, I can tell he doesn’t seem very loyal to you."

"Wanwan, you’re the only one in my heart! I’ve never cared for that good-for-nothing! If you don’t believe me, I’ll kill her right now to prove it!"

Slandered beyond repair, Ling Ze knew he couldn’t explain his way out of it. His rage skyrocketed. With bloodshot eyes, he looked at Jiang Wanwan with a mix of pained resolve and reluctance as Energy gathered wildly in his palm.

’Holy shit, I’ve gone too far!’

’This guy is actually going to ignore the Empire’s laws and try to kill me!’

’He’s an asshole, but he’s genuinely powerful. He’s already a Second Rank in the Regression Stage. None of us can stop him. There’s no other choice. If I have to expose my secrets, so be it. Staying alive is what matters most.’

Just then, another burst of Energy, so powerful it seemed tangible, erupted beside her, instantly drawing everyone’s attention.

Si Xie’s eyes widened in shock.
