âWhat? You and Noa are going to participate in an outdoor test with Mevis next Monday?â
In the bedroom, Rosvisser stood in front of the wardrobe, changing into a spaghetti-strap nightgown as she questioned Leon.
Leon, sitting on the bed, nodded. âYes, Helena will join us too. The test requires the student to bring a friend and a family member.â
Rosvisser slowly turned around, her smooth, white feet stepping onto the carpet as she walked over to sit beside Leon.
âBut isnât Helena in the Youth Dragon Division? Doesnât she have her own test to complete?â
âOh, each teacher in the Youth Dragon Division receives specific teaching tasks for their students at the start of the semester. As long as the tasks are completed during the semester, thereâs no strict timing. Helenaâs outdoor test is scheduled for next month, so sheâs free to accompany Noa on Monday.â
Rosvisser nodded. âSuch a complicated curriculum. It sounds troublesome. When I was in school, it wasnât this intricate.â
Leon chuckled, patting her shoulder. âItâs probably because St. Heathâs Academy has been placing more emphasis on family education in recent years. Thatâs why theyâve introduced tests and activities involving families.â
âHmm⊠that makes sense. This test will also be a good opportunity to observe Mevis up close,â Rosvisser mused, furrowing her delicate brows as she stared at her feet.
âHonestly, when I first met Mevis, I had the same uneasy feeling you mentioned. But back then, I didnât give it much thought because she was just sparring at the academy. Now that I think about it, if we both feel somethingâs off about her, it canât just be a coincidence.â
She sighed and scratched her forehead in frustration. âThe problem is, I donât have the authority to investigate her background. On the surface, everything seems clean, and her clan wasnât connected to either the Silver Dragons or the Red Dragons before their division dissolvedâŠâ
Leon nodded thoughtfully. âPerhaps itâs related to the relatively calm situation weâre in now. Since Old Konstantinâs outburst, Shadowâs forces have been quiet. It feels like the calm before the storm.â
âExactly. In these still waters, Mevisâs presence feels like a stone breaking the surfaceânot causing much of a ripple, but noticeable enough to draw attention. The more we look at her, the more curious we become,â Rosvisser agreed.
Leon leaned back, propping himself up on the bed with his hands. âWell, this test gives us a chance to observe her closely. Besides, itâs a good distractionâitâs easier than picking up a new hobby.â
Rosvisser chuckled, covering her mouth. âYouâre such a restless fool.â
Her laughter froze as she turned to glare at Leon. âRestless doesnât mean you can put your hand on my tail. Move it.â
âOh, come on, itâs muscle memory,â Leon said, grinning mischievously.
âMove it!â
âNope.â
âIâm counting to threeâthree, two, oneâah!â
A faint purple glow appeared at the base of Rosvisserâs tail.
Leon ignored her protests, slowly toying with the cool, soft, and irresistibly smooth scales of her tail. âThereâs nothing in the world as fun as playing with a dragon tail! I could do this all year!â
Rosvisserâs breath quickened, her cheeks flushing a deep red. Her heaving chest and captivating gaze made her allure undeniable. âI-I donât know what youâre talking about⊠Let me go, you jerk!â
âDonât tell me you still donât understand this after eight years of marriage, my Queen,â Leon teased.
âHmph, I donât understand anything! And I wonât be at your mercy⊠Damn it!â
Before she could finish, Leon tightened his grip on her tail, causing her body to weaken as she collapsed into his arms.
Leon gently brushed a strand of hair from her flushed face, his fingers tracing the heat of her cheek before resting at her lips.
Rosvisser opened her mouth, biting his finger, then slowly, deliberately, drew it into her mouth.
From the moment she stepped barefoot into the room and began changing into her nightgown, the couple had both known where this was heading.
Leon didnât force her, and she wasnât truly resisting. It was simply a playful dance between husband and wife.
As Rosvisserâs warm, soft tongue caressed his finger, the dragon markings on Leonâs chest began to glow faintly. He withdrew his hand and leaned forward, capturing her lips in a passionate kiss.
The newly donned nightgown soon found itself on the floor, and once again, her delicate, flawless feet would become the focus of her husbandâs attention for the night.
Two days later, Monday morning arrived. A massive black dragon landed in the front courtyard of the Silver Dragon Sanctuary.
âNoa~!â Helena called cheerfully, kneeling on the dragonâs back as she waved to Noa, who was already prepared with her gear.
Noa waved back and adjusted her backpack. âMom, weâre heading out now!â
âAlright, stay safe, and donât overdo it. Let your dad handle the tough stuff,â Rosvisser instructed.
âGot it, Mom!â Noa replied with a smile, waving goodbye as she jogged toward the black dragon.
Leon, having finished his preparations, walked up to Rosvisserâs side. Gazing at the scene before them, he muttered, âI heard that, by the wayâabout me handling the tough stuff.â
Rosvisser smirked, crossing her arms. âWell, I canât say youâre always reliable, but when youâre with me, you certainly put in the effort.â
Leonâs face turned red, and instead of responding, he hurried toward the courtyard.
Rosvisser chuckled at his retreating figure. âTake good care of Noa and Helena!â she called out.
âGot it!â Leon replied, raising his arm to flash her an "OK" sign without looking back.
Once the two little dragon girls were seated securely on the black dragonâs back, they each grabbed one of Leonâs wrists and pulled him aboard.
âAll set?â the black dragon asked, turning its head to check.
âWeâre ready, Teacher Mevis. Letâs go,â Noa confirmed.
âVery well.â
The black dragon flapped its wings, lifting off the ground. Before ascending fully, Mevis called out to Rosvisser, âDonât worry, Your Majesty. Iâll take good care of them.â
Rosvisser nodded slightly. âThank you, Teacher Mevis.â
With that, the black dragon soared into the sky. Rosvisser watched them disappear into the clouds, narrowing her eyes slightly as she murmured, âTake care, Leon, Noa.â
