After a brief period of rest, Leon and Rosvisser were ready to set out once more—with Noa and Xiaoxue in tow—on their continued journey to search for the Thunder Spirit Core.

Before they departed, Tower Master had someone deliver a few more teleportation crystals.

“Crystals were also sent to the Flame Dragon King, the Thunder Dragon King, and the others. That way, if the Silver Dragon Sanctuary is °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° attacked, there’s no need to send a signal dragon. Just use the crystal to open a portal directly.

In addition to fixed-point teleportation, the crystals also serve as a simple communication tool.

The basic principle is this: any two crystals can locate each other, and once a portal is opened at one end, it can either pull someone in or send someone out.

In other words, if A locates B and opens a gate, A can choose to bring B over, rather than going to B themselves.

It works the same way between the Silver Dragon Sanctuary and the other Dragon Kings.

Of course, aside from emergency reinforcements or support, the crystals can also be used for retreat.

“Thank the Tower Master for me,” Leon said as he stowed the crystals.

He and Rosvisser kept two for themselves and handed the rest to Vida.

“I already used a signal dragon to contact the The Fire Spirit Divine Stallion Clan. They’ll send someone here in a few days to negotiate with me about the Fire Spirit Core,”

Vida said. “You just focus on finding the Thunder Spirit Core—I can handle convincing the Divine Stallion.”

“Will it really go smoothly? What if… they refuse to hand over the Fire Spirit Core?” Leon asked, somewhat concerned.

Vida shook his head.

“It’ll be fine. When Cecilia and I went around collecting the other cores, we ran into situations like that too. As long as you lay out the pros and cons clearly, ancient clans like the Divine Stallion won’t be unreasonable.”

Vida sounded confident. His centuries-long “artifact quest” had clearly made him a pro at this sort of diplomacy.

But Leon was still uneasy.

“Alright, then we’ll find the Thunder Spirit Core and the Crown as soon as we can, then rush back.”

“Mm. Cecilia and I have already finished organizing all the intel on the trackers.”

As he spoke, Vida took out a notebook and handed it to Leon.

Leon accepted it with a nod. “Thank you for all your hard work.”

“Travel safe.”

“I will, sir. I promise.”

The couple chuckled with raised brows.

“Haha, dear mother-in-law, can you guess why your husband’s notebook even has a section on finding the way?”

“Big Sister, come back early, okay?”

“Yeah, Sister, let’s come back early!”

The Moon sisters came to see them off too.

Noa nodded. “Okay, I’ll be back soon, Moon.”

“Sister, take this. If you miss us, play a little song.”

Muse stepped forward and handed Noa the harmonica that Leon had gifted her for her first birthday.

“I’ve never used it. I’ve been keeping it safe this whole time.”

Noa looked at the harmonica in her hands and smiled.

“It’s not like I’m not coming back, Muse. Why are you acting like we won’t see each other for ages?”

“But still, if you do miss me, just pull out the harmonica and give it a blow.”

At last, Noa looked toward Aurora.

The third child—normally the most rowdy—was uncharacteristically quiet.

The pink-haired girl stood there silently, watching Noa.

The two sisters locked eyes.

“Hey, Aurora! Are you thinking of ditching Mom, Dad, and our sisters again?!”

Just when Noa thought Aurora was being sentimental, she suddenly realized something.

And Aurora, in turn, realized that her eldest sister had caught onto her little scheme.

The eldest and the third pointed at each other at the same time and shouted in unison:

“Don’t include me in the summoning ritual!”

“I am including Big Sis in the summoning ritual!”

In Vida’s notebook, he had listed several possible locations where the Thunder Spirit Core might appear.

There was no particular order to the list, just some basic notes.

None of the entries gave precise details about the Thunder Spirit Core’s properties, so Leon and Rosvisser could only investigate them one by one.

Fortunately, their travel pace was now quite a bit faster.

And since Rosvisser hadn’t inherited Cecilia’s “random route” trait, they were spared a lot of unnecessary detours.

Roughly half a month later, the group had visited three clans—

but hadn’t had much luck.

That evening, the four of them stopped by a river to rest and make dinner.

With a flash of golden light, Noa waded into the river barefoot with her pants rolled up and the Sacred Spear in hand, ready to spear some fish.

The couple sat on the riverbank, soaking in the peaceful sunset while watching their daughter at work.

“She’s using the Sacred Spear left by Chronoz to spear fish… isn’t that a little… I don’t know, beneath its greatness?”

“She’s a kid. Let her fish how she likes. Chronoz doesn’t mind, right?”

Rosvisser chuckled and nodded. “You’re right, Leon.”

Noa’s fishing technique was quite impressive. Nearly every time she struck—

or rather, every time she thrust the spear—

she managed to skewer a fish.

Watching her daughter fish, Leon couldn’t help but recall the trial of the Fire Spirit God, where Safina had also tried fishing in a river.

Back then, Safina clearly had no idea how light refraction worked, and no matter how long she tried, she never managed to catch a thing.

It wasn’t until Leon explained it to her that she finally got to enjoy a satisfying meal of grilled fish.

He figured that in the Void Realm, they probably didn’t have proper sunlight or clear rivers,

otherwise, that clever girl would’ve definitely known how to fish.

“During the Fire Spirit God’s trial, that Void warrior named Safina told us something once.”

The scene brought back memories for Leon, and he shared them with Rosvisser.

The queen sat with her knees up, arms hugging them, her silver tail resting naturally behind her. She turned to him and asked,

“What story?”

Leon narrowed his eyes, gazing at the setting sun. The crimson light was reflected in his pupils.

“She said she and her younger brother lived under the rule of a tyrant king, and they could be killed at any time. She wanted divine blessings to protect herself and her brother.”

Rosvisser raised an eyebrow. “Maybe she made that up just to pass the trial?”

Leon lowered his gaze, pressed his lips together, and after a moment of thought, said,

“But later she claimed the story wasn’t made up.

So if we assume the story was true—just with some modifications and disguises—

then the ‘tyrant king’ she mentioned is probably the Void Sovereign, Atos, right?”

Rosvisser followed his train of thought and nodded. “Yes.”

“Combining that with a few details from the story,

we can deduce that the previous Void Sovereign was defeated by Atos,

and once Atos took over the Void Realm, that’s when his atrocities began.

Like releasing chaos to ravage the continent,

or sending people everywhere to search for divine relics.”

“Hmm… Speaking of relics, there’s something I’ve never quite understood,”

Rosvisser said.

“What is it?”

“If Kaiser and Safina are trying to collect divine relics so they won’t be used to suppress the Void Gate,

then logically, once Kaiser stole the Wind Spirit Core,

he should’ve destroyed it immediately. That would be the best move, right?”

Rosvisser continued, “But instead, he kept the Wind Spirit Core with him.

That doesn’t really match how the Void Realm usually operates, does it?”

“Exactly. That’s something I’ve never understood either—

why didn’t Kaiser destroy the Wind Spirit Core after taking it?

I have two theories,” Leon said.

“One, the Void Realm simply doesn’t have the means to destroy divine relics; two, Kaiser kept it on purpose for his own reasons.”

Rosvisser’s eyes flickered. She asked,

“Why do you say it’s Kaiser’s own plan? Couldn’t it be Atos who told him not to destroy it?”

Leon answered simply and clearly:

“Atos once led a chaotic invasion into Samael’s world—he even managed to corrupt the Dragon God, Tiamat.

With how radical and aggressive he is, if I were him, I’d absolutely order the relics destroyed without hesitation.”

Rosvisser smiled faintly, and followed up,

“So if it’s the second case, that means Kaiser disobeyed Atos’s orders in secret—

which would mean he has his own agenda.

And that goal must be more important to him than the Void Gate or even the entire Void Realm.”

Leon nodded. “Exactly.”

He paused, then added, “Of course, there’s also the possibility that they really can’t destroy the relics, so they’re forced to hold onto them.”

“Mm… Either way, we can’t let any divine relics fall into the Void Realm’s hands,” Rosvisser said. “The seal on the Void Gate is weakening. If even one relic is lost, the calamity from the Void will come sooner.”

“Dad! Mom! Big Sis Xiaoxue and I caught a huge fish! It’s dinner time!”

In the golden light of the sunset, the girl held her Sacred Spear in one hand and a giant plump river fish in the other, beaming proudly.

Leon and Rosvisser quietly watched the heartwarming scene.

The girl looked up, her face breaking into a bright smile.

“No, Rosvisser. We’ll definitely get through everything together—just like always.”
