The topic of the Apollo descendants didnât stay long between the coupleâthere simply wasnât enough information yet. They agreed to wait for Sherryâs team to dig deeper.
After that, they talked about their daughters for a while. By around 3 a.m., drowsiness finally crept in, and they drifted off to sleep one by one.
The next morning, Leon woke around 9 a.m.
At the bedside was breakfast that Rosvisser had prepared for him.
Apparently anticipating that heâd sleep in, sheâd chosen a selection of despair cuisine that wouldnât lose flavor even when cold.
Leon devoured the tragedy that was breakfast, freshened up, and headed out.
In the sanctuaryâs grand hall, Rosvisser had already begun her dayâs work.
When she heard footsteps, the queen, seated on the throne, briefly glanced in his directionâthen turned her attention back to the reports in her hands.
"Morning."
"Busy today?" Leon asked softly.
"Iâm busy every day," Rosvisser replied flatly.
Then, with a pause, she added:
"When you become vice principal, youâll be just as busy as me."
Leon chuckled, folded his arms, and leaned sideways against the doorframe.
"And what makes you so sure Iâll get the vice principal seat?"
Her eyes never left the report she was reviewing, but a faint smile tugged at her lips.
"Because youâre my husband."
There was a trace of pride in her voice.
In Leonâs memory, Rosvisser rarely spoke like thisâleaning into their marital bond with such ease and confidence.
Not that she disliked their marriage or tried to distance herself from it. But most of the time, Rosvisser treated their relationship with cool-headed rationality.
So that casual lineâbecause youâre my husbandâmade Leon feel more triumphant than even last nightâs silver-dragon-tail-in-the-bath fun.
She didnât look up for a response, but when Rosvisser noticed silence, she finally glanced toward himâ
Only to find the man with eyes closed, his upper body rocking side to side like a dreamy teenager in love, his lips curled in a grin too wide to be contained by even a dragon lordâs dignityâ
Absolutely smitten.
"Ahem."
The queen gave a soft cough to snap him out of it.
Leon jolted, rubbing the side of his head in awkward embarrassment.
"Anyway," Rosvisser continued, "if I remember correctly, the final round of the vice principal selection is a comprehensive ability test. Just talking combat strength, those five other candidates combined still wouldnât beat you, right?"
Leon shrugged. "Theoretically, yes. But thereâs one thing that worries me."
"What is it?"
"Your big sis and Claudia."
Leon sighed. "I was totally thrown off when I found out they were in the running. After all... After all, theyâre legendary hunters. Especially your sister. Youâve never outmaneuvered her when it comes to brains."
Rosvisser voiced his exact concern.
Leon nodded.
"Yeah. Theyâve been holding back in earlier rounds. I wouldnât be surprised if they suddenly went all-out in the final stage."
Rosvisser twirled her pen in thought, then replied:
"I donât think they will. From what I know, neither of them is actually interested in becoming vice principal. They joined the race for other reasons. So theyâve got no reason to set you up. Just relax and keep doing your best."
Leon felt reassured after hearing that.
"When are you planning to go back to the academy?" Rosvisser asked.
"What, already kicking me out?"
She didnât say anything... but yeah, kind of.
"Mhm. Once youâre gone, I get the whole bed to myself. I can stretch my tail however I want, put it anywhere I wantâbliss."
Leon narrowed his eyes.
"Tch~ Then I wonât leave. I refuse to let you have that bliss."
The queen leaned forward, resting her chin on one hand, and squinted with a teasing smile.
"Well, no need to rush either. Stay a few more days. If you really do become vice principal, youâll be too busy to come home often. It takes at least six hours to commute between the Silver Dragon Sanctuary and Saint Heath Academy. Itâs not exactly a convenient back-and-forth. And once youâre in that position, especially early on, work has to take priority."
Clearly, Rosvisser had already realized: this might genuinely become a new challenge in their marriage.
Leon raised a brow.
"What are you saying, Your Majesty? You sound like you want me to become vice principal, but also like you canât bear it if I donât come home."
Usually, Rosvisser would shoot back a rebuttal instantly.
But this time, she fell silent.
Lowering her eyes, she murmured:
"Maybe... maybe I overestimated myself."
Leon caught the words and leaned in.
"What was that?"
"Nothing."
Rosvisser looked up again and forced a crooked smile.
"Iâm not sad to see you go, okay? Hmph."
She returned to her usual tsundere routine.
"You humans have that saying, right? âA real man seeks his fortune far from home.â This time, Iâm giving you your shot. You better not waste it."
After twelve years of marriage, Leon could tell the difference between her real tsundere moments and the fake ones.
"Alright, Iâve got work. If youâre free today, you can go on a patrol with Anna. I heard thereâve been S-class dangerous creatures popping up near the border."
Leon opened his mouth to respond, but didnât say much moreâhe simply nodded.
"Alright. Got it."
With a simple goodbye, Leon left the sanctuary and headed off with Anna and the patrol squad toward the Silver Dragon territoryâs border.

Meanwhile, at the Wind Dragon Sanctuary.
Wind Dragon Queen Valendna reclined sideways against the armrest of her throne, her cheek smushed slightly into her palm, squashing out the soft flesh of her face.
Her other hand lazily flicked through patrol reports passed in from the entrance.
Unlike the Silver or Thunder clans, the Wind Dragons werenât a major military force. Valendnaâs territory wasnât especially large, nor did it boast abundant resources.
As a result, theyâd spent centuries free from conflictâno wars, no invasions.
Which meant that ever since ascending to the throne, her royal duties boiled down to:
Reading reports.
Reading more reports.
And reading reports again.
"Ughhh! Iâm so bored I could scream!"
She threw a stack of reports onto the desk and stood up with a clenched fist, fuming.
One second...
Two...
Three...
Then she collapsed back into the throne like a deflated balloon.
The young Wind Dragon Queen had once again been defeated by the crushing monotony of royal life.
She needed someone to come save her.
Hell, even a random slime daring to invade her territory would do. She would personally ride out and slay it!
"Your Majesty, someone requests an audience," a guard reported.
Valendna arched a brow.
"Who?"
"The Red Dragon QueenâIsha Melkvey."
Her green eyes lit up in an instant.
Without hesitation, Valendna spread her wings and leapt off the high throne, soaring toward the sanctuary gates.
The guard covered his face.
"How many times do we have to say it, Your Majestyâshow some royal decorum!"
But Valendna was already out the door, flying straight toward the red-haired beauty outside.
Isha, for her part, seemed utterly unbothered. She clearly knew what kind of greeting to expect.
Valendnaâs light green hair fluttered wildly as she launched herself at Ishaâs chest and wrapped {Nâ˘oâ˘vâ˘eâ˘lâ˘iâ˘gâ˘hâ˘t} her arms around her, gazing up into her eyes.
"Isha~ You finally came to see me! You must have known how bored Iâve been lately, didnât you?"
The Wind Dragon Queen happily buried her face in a softness her own flat-chested form had never known in 200 years.
"I love you the most, Isha!"
"...Actually, I came to ask you for some Emerald Dragonâs Tears."
"...I donât love you anymore, Isha."
