Well... Somewhat good news... Mara’s suggestion surprised everyone so much that they forgot about trying to get me to start an orgy with them.

On the not so good news... It looks like Mara was actually serious about giving me the ability to sprout tentacles and she wanted to get started on it right away.

Because according to her, while the gene mod to make people grow tentacles technically already exists, what it does is making the person grow a pair of limbs before changing it to tentacles. That means those tentacles would not be able to shapeshift like what Renata did.

Sure, that would also work but I kind of lost interest in that because Mara told me that using those for sex would just feel like putting my fingers in instead of my penis... So yeah... The one that she’s trying to make would be a complete upgrade of this.

Mara dove deep into the research and I suppose things went back to normal again within the ship.

I almost called for battle stations until Yumiko turned to me from the communications terminal, "Mistress... They are patrol ships belonging to the local garrison. They are hailing us."

Oh right, I forgot... They are currently in the middle of a civil war...

Are we getting turned away then?

I nodded at her to answer the hail and a screen appeared in the air in front of us.

A bearded face appeared on the screen, a very neatly designed military uniform adorning his upper body that was visible on the screen.

So this is a Zwerger then. They really do look like dwarves.

Then again, I already saw their pictures on the GalaNet anyway so there’s no need for me to be surprised.

He huffed at us, "You... What are you doing here?"

I waved at him, "We’re on our way to get some weapons crafted."

He narrowed his eyes, "At which station?"

Yumiko already told me the name of the place so I didn’t hesitate to answer, "Felsen Arms Station."

The dwarf huffed, "I suppose that was a dumb question since there’s only one station ’ere that can do that. You sure you’re not a spy for the other side?"

"Even if I am a spy, I won’t be saying it to you, would I?" I pointed out.

"Hmph, got ourselves a smart human huh? Although... Hmm... That’s a nice ship you have there."

I frowned at his words.

Don’t tell me they’re trying to commandeer it or something? Maybe say something like they need me to give it up for the war effort?

His lips curled upwards into a grin, "Would be a shame if something happened to it while you’re on your way to the station..."

Ugh... This is an extortion isn’t it? Whatever... I’ll probably just pay him as long as the amount isn’t too much just--

"I mean look at that! Been a while since I’ve seen a Broadsword Combat Freighter! What a beauty ain’t she, lads?!"

A chorus of agreements came over from the other side of the screen.

"I see you’ve even outfitted her with three long range Railguns and two High Intensity Lasers! Good choice! Good choice! Damn, this is custom made isn’t it? Now we really need to make sure nothing happens to it! Lads! We’re escorting this fine lady to her destination! Make sure not even a space rock gets near to her, ya hear me?!"

More cheers of agreement came from behind him.

He then nodded at me, "Alright lady, just follow us to your destination, we’ll make sure you get there safe and sound!"

He then ended the call before I could say anything and the patrol ships arranged themselves into an escort formation to start flying alongside me.

I blinked, needing a moment to comprehend what just happened.

Ries grinned at me from the side, "I like them! They’re really cultured Zwergers!"
