We played the role of being sympathetic onlookers as the secretary bodyguard and the other security gathered around the dead Kaitoâs body, mourning the death of their boss.
I found it quite ironic that they tried to mess up Yukiâs exhibition and pretended they werenât involved and now... We basically killed their boss and pretended we were their saviours.
One of the security guards turned to the secretary, "What do we do now? Whatâs going to happen to us?"
She pursed her lips, clearly not having an answer.
The fact that she couldnât answer told me that the Kaito guy probably had no designated heir to the company and also had no one that could help take over the company in his absence.
Obviously, Yuki wasnât going to miss this chance as she gestured towards them, "If you find yourself lacking in a leader right now, I could come in and help out, you know? Iâm willing to buy over this company and make sure that everyone still has their job. How about that?"
Oh geez... Really? Youâre going to suggest a takeover of the company while the corpse of their boss is still there right in front of them? I donât even think his body is cold yet, you know?
The secretary turned to scowl at her, "Was this your plan all along? You get rid of our boss and then buy over the company to eliminate the competition?"
Yuki crossed her arms, "Even if it was, what can you do about it? Kill me here in front of everyone and ensure that this company and everyone in it is well and truly doomed? At least with me, all your livelihoods could still be guaranteed even if itâs under someone elseâs management. Besides, I think this is the best case scenario for all of you since weâre basically familiar with each other at this point, yes?."
I could see the secretary bodyguard gnashing her teeth in frustration since she knows that itâs true but she didnât like it.
She clenched her fist, "I will... Contact you again to make a decision on this."
Yuki shrugged, "I suppose you will need the time to gather all the information you need for the handover. But donât take too long, my offer for this is not perpetual. I may just decide that this company isnât worth taking over the longer you take."
The secretary bodyguard turned away, not willing to give her an answer.
Yuki then nodded at the Mastiff that was laying beside me, "I donât suppose you would want to keep that dog as well? Considering what it did to your boss... He really should have known better than to try and get a dog that isnât even trained."
No one protested against her so Yuki jerked her head at me and we went back to the elevator that now had a hole at the bottom.
At least it was still functional after we pulled the corpses out of it so we took it down to the lower level before we left the building.
Everyone we met gave us a wide berth since we were accompanied by four dogs with one of them being a giant in size as compared to the other three.
Yuki led me through the streets until we reached a set of stairs that led to an underground tunnel where my girls were waiting for us.
The moment they saw the dogs however, they froze up and I felt a little bad for them.
Amber pointed at the Mastiff, "Tera... I donât want to alarm you but... What the heck is that?"
I patted the Mastiff on the head, "Itâs the dog that we used to kill that Kaito guy."
"Thatâs a dog?"
"I know how it looks but... Yes, this is indeed a dog."
Yumiko frowned, "Is it safe, Mistress?"
"Well... As you can see... Itâs not trying to kill me right now so... Yes?"
While the girls did trust me on this, itâs clear they donât trust the dog itself.
Still... Seeing that the dog remained by my side and wasnât showing anyone hostility, they didnât protest against the Mastiffâs presence and just accepted it.
Yuki turned to me, taking a moment to make sure that there was no one else around us before speaking.
"I have to say... I did not expect things to go this well. You have my thanks, Miss Tera."
I raised an eyebrow, "Itâs not over yet, right? They might still decide not to sell the company to you just to spite you."
She shrugged, "It doesnât matter. That company had no leader now, they wonât be able to compete with us. Youâve gone and killed not only the leader but also the people who might have been able to keep it running after all."
Ah... So those secretaries of his were also working as his executives... Sounds like a lot of work if you ask me.
Not only do they have to wait on him, they even have to run parts of the company for him as well. The benefits heâs giving them must be immense.
"What about the last one?" I asked, referencing the one that I had left alive.
She waved her hand, "I know her. Sheâs only in charge of his personal security and not any administrative stuff. She wonât be able to take over on her own."
Hmm... I guess that means that I not only killed the boss... I also wiped out the board of directors alongside him as well? Talk about bad luck for him.
But it really is his fault for gathering everyone in a single place. Iâm pretty sure his company extends further than just this single station so heâs intentionally just bringing all the important people along with him wherever he goes.
Yumiko sniffed at the side, "Mistress... Did he suffer?"
Oh, I almost forgot. The boss was the cousin of her former right hand man who basically took everything that was supposed to go to that guy for himself.
Yumiko probably still despises him for that.
I nodded, "Donât worry, he was crying and begging for his life the entire time."
That seemed to satisfy her as her tail wagged just as fast as the other dogs that were beside me.
Unnghh... Theyâre all so cute~
If you wanted me to choose between the dogs and Yumiko...
Hmm... I wanted to say that I wouldnât be able to choose but I think Yumiko would be a tad ahead of the dogs. Sorry.
Lea raised her hand slightly, "Mmm... Doesnât that guy have family though? Wouldnât the company go to them instead?"
Yuki scoffed, "Ha! That two bit miser was so afraid that his own family might come and kill him to claim what he stole from his own family that he made it a rule that no one from his family can be involved in his company even in death. Ironic that now his company would be left to strangers instead, isnât it?"
Ries perked up, "Oh!! Does that mean that if you were to acquire his company, you would also be releasing all those weapons that his company has made to the public?!"
Oh yeah... Thatâs the biggest gripe that Ries has with that guy.
Yuki raised an eyebrow, "Of course not? I would be using what he made for my own security firm to give my company an even bigger edge up against the other companies. Some of his stuff is top of the line and beats whatever that is available in the market. If I can arm my own security forces with his equipment, I would practically be the undisputed top in this side of the galaxy!"
Yeah... That sounds about right... I mean... Thatâs normal, right?
Ries then turned to scowl at me, "Boss!! We should buy over that company instead! Donât let her buy it!"
I gave my cat girl a look, "Iâm going to assume that even if we were to liquidate our entire assets, we wonât even have enough to buy half of what the company is worth, Ries... Thereâs no way we are buying that..."
Ries pouted and her ears drooped a little in disappointment.
That almost made me want to wish I had enough money to buy that company just to see her perk up again.
Thankfully, I didnât need to go that far because patting her head did the same thing too and she purred as I rubbed her head.
Yuki then turned back to me, "Iâll transfer you the money once I get back. But what do you intend to do with that... Dog?"
Everyone looked at the Mastiff that was seated beside me before looking at me.
I sucked in a breath, already mentally prepared for this moment.
"Can I keep her?" I asked.
"Ahhhhh!! Tera?! Are you really sure thatâs a good idea?"
"I know we agreed to a dog, but isnât that one too big?!"
"Itâs scary, Mistress..."
All of my girls started protesting.
I cleared my throat, "Iâll give you all a good fucking tonight if you let me keep her. Two hours just for fucking."
There was a moment of silence.
"Deal," All of them said at the same time.
Nice.
