Wuliang Hall was indeed a warlike Divine Pact, but that didnât guarantee victory every time. Otherwise they wouldnât be a second-tier force in the Northern Divine Realmâtheyâd be the strongest Pact outright. Hong Zhenchengâs worries were therefore not unfounded.
By the usual rules, the weak survive under the wing of the strongâbut Ye Yu was no ordinary adherent. In truth, Hong Zhencheng was the stronger of the two.
Watching Hong Zhenchengâs eyes brighten with that familiar gleam of âgenius,â Ye Yu knew this brat was about to stir up trouble again.
âDamn it!â Ye Yu instinctively raised his hand to stop himâbut Hong Zhencheng moved faster, revealing himself fully and shouting at the top of his lungs:
Pu ni amu!
âPawns of the Funeral Pact, halt at once! Grandpa Zhencheng and Grandpa Ye Yu are going to slaughter you all!â
That thunderous declaration, amplified by divine power, echoed across the battlefield. Every deity present shuddered and turned to see who dared speak so recklessly at the Funeral Pactâs moment of triumph.
They all froze in disbelief. Had the age changed? How could a mere mid-Divine God Realm cultivator stand up and shout such things? Where had he found the nerve?
Zengtian, the ruthless brute of the Funeral Pact, cocked his head, eyes narrowing as he studied Ye Yuâs companion. The dozen or so Wuliang Hall deities who recognized Hong Zhencheng quickly closed ranks around himâafter all, they were comrades. None expected Hong Zhencheng to be so bold as to rant like this in front of so many.
âBrother, youâve got guts!â one called out in admiration.
Hong Zhencheng beamed, chest swelling with pride. âThanks to the High God, I can show off like this!â
He cocked an eyebrow at Ye Yu. âHigh God, what are you going to do now?â
Ye Yu lowered his hand and, suppressing his exasperation, replied, âNothing.â
At that moment, all eyesâboth from the Funeral Pact and Wuliang Hallâfocused on the two of them. They had become the center of attention, the obvious targets.
Admittedly, Hong Zhencheng was born to be a warrior. Every time he opened his mouth to taunt, it wound up succeedingâlast time against a single target, this time with an area-wide provocation. Was he leveling up his mockery skills?
As Ye Yu sighed inwardly, Hong Zhencheng leaned closer and spoke quietly enough to be heard amidst the roar: âHigh God, I know you came to Wuliang Hall to lay lowâhide your greatness among the mortals. But at this critical juncture, donât hold back. Just slay these bastards.â
Though his voice wasnât loud, every deity could hear him clearly. The Wuliang Hall forces lit up with hope. Could this newcomer be a hidden powerhouse? They might yet be saved! Even the Funeral Pact deities frownedânone were so easily intimidated.
Zengtian glared back at his men, then turned to Ye Yu and sneered: âWhat High God? Hidden greatness? If youâve got the guts, come kill me. If not, Iâll butcher you right now!â
His divine power rippled outwardâhe was a peak Heavenly Deity Realm warrior, stronger even than Hong Zhencheng. Had Ye Yu truly been a True God, he could have slain Zengtian instantly, terrifying the whole battlefield. With his special effect unleashed, everything might still be salvageable. But Ye Yu was only mid-New God Realm. One slip, and heâd be hacked to pieces.
What could he do? Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Ye Yu hatched a desperate plan.
He swept his sleeve in a broad arc, halting his comradesâ advance. In an instant, the battlefield sky turned as dark as pitch. Above them, a pair of enormous eyes snapped open, their scarlet pupils flickering in the gloom.
Behind Ye Yu, two massive variant Dragons of Fortune drifted into view. These were no ordinary fortune dragonsâtheir scales were blood-red, their presence savage and murderous.
A chill ran down every spine. The small-time thug whoâd been taunting them fell silent, staggering back a step. Even Zengtian narrowed his eyes. This unknown deity truly seemed formidable.
Hong Zhencheng, ever the enthusiast, let out an ecstatic roar: âHigh God, I knew you were the strongest! Now slaughter them!â
His shout ignited Wuliang Hallâs forces into a frenzy of cheers.
Ye Yu, however, spoke calmly: âYou all retreat first. I fear if I stay, I wonât be able to hold back and will â NĐŸvĐ”lŃgÒ»t â (Only on NĐŸvĐ”lŃgÒ»t) strike indiscriminately.â
At his words, the Wuliang Hall deities froze in sudden concern.
âCanât control yourself?â Hong Zhencheng blurted, eyes wide. âYour powerâs so great even you canât handle it? My god, Iâve definitely underestimated you.â
âIâm going,â Hong Zhencheng declared, stepping forward. âIâll return to the Divine Pact with your victory news!â
With that, he vanished.
