Chapter 307: 020: Received
Tristan Wizard Tower, top floor.
âSpare me, father!â
In the room, Tristanâs shout echoed, and this hefty fellow, standing over six feet and shaped like a fat pig, slammed his head onto the floor, making it go âbang!â as if the ground quivered beneath him.
Frankly, Lynch was genuinely surprised.
Before entering the room, he had already been informed by others in the tower about the situation here and knew that the fat man negotiating business with Tristan was a wizard from the renowned Five Rings Wizard Domain in the Land of Fran.
Is this the caliber of wizards from a world-dominating top-tier wizard domain?
Lynch questioned, âAre you really a wizard from Fran?â
The fat man hurriedly lifted his head, nose and tears bubbling as he said, âAbsolutely true, Iâm from the Moonlight Hills of Fran, Iâm just here for business, I know nothing, please, my lord, spare me.â
With that, he handed over a Witch Domain Badge, which Lynch examined and confirmed was indeed from Fran. This item is issued solely by the Wizard Domain and imprinted with the holderâs soul mark, making forgery impossible.
âAlright then.â
Lynch nodded.
He wasnât a person who killed unnecessarily, and someone with such a background certainly wasnât to be killed senselessly.
Even clad in a black robe, Lynch still desired to be a good person.
After a pause, he took out a bottle of Magic Potion and tossed it at the fat manâs feet, saying, âDrink this.â
Although he didnât plan on killing him, Lynch didnât intend for him to leave easily either, as he might return and spread rumors causing unknown trouble. After pondering, he decided to lock him up first.
The fat man picked up the bottle, took a closer look, and his face immediately changed: âAnti-Magic Potion!â
This is a high-grade Magic Potion, once consumed, it can interfere with a wizardâs Spiritual Field, preventing them from using their spiritual power.
The fat manâs face turned pale.
A wizard without spiritual power is no different from a mortal, dying unnoticed in such a Black Witch Domain.
Lynch was too lazy for nonsense, commanding, âDrink it!â
His voice was like an unassailable decree, and despite the fat manâs unwillingness, his body moved on its own when Lynchâs voice rang, left hand grasping the bottle, right hand pulling out the cork.
âNo! No!â
Seren immediately screamed.
âYou⊠you demon! You canât do this to me! Iâm from Fran!â
âFran wonât spare you!â
âI guarantee you wonât see tomorrow morningâs sun⊠glug, glugâŠâ
No matter how reluctant he was, the Magic Potion still went down his throat, and the fat man immediately began pitching a fit, one moment kowtowing for mercy, the next hysterical, then turning red with threats, seeming schizophrenic.
Lynch found him extremely annoying, so he cast a Sleep Spell to knock him out.
Then, he called out, âCome up!â
âTap, tap, tap!â
A series of footsteps followed, and Barton escorted a group of young boys and girls inside.
These were Tristanâs apprentices.
Lynch first encountered them when he arrived at the wizard tower, and in the face of absolute power, these apprentices couldnât resist at all, being subdued instantly and providing Lynch with basic information about the wizard tower.
Tristan was negotiating business with a distinguished guest from Fran at the towerâs top, a useful piece of information extracted from these apprentices.
Lynch lifted his head and scanned forward, seeing seven apprentices aged 15 to 20, comprised of three boys and four girls.
They all had certain abnormalities, such as snake-like eyes, mouths on their arms, or an extra limb, with visible black stitching marks on their bodies, indicating that Tristan performed numerous brutal magical experiments on them.
Lynch pointed to Tristanâs corpse on the ground and said, âIâve already dealt with your mentor Tristan.â
The apprentices were expressionless, as if accustomed to it.
They werenât apprentices Tristan had recruited formally, but ones bought from other wizards. In this Black Witch Domain, this was very common; apprentices were seen as mere experimental materials, much like ordinary people in wizardsâ eyes.
After pausing, Lynch added, âFrom today onward, I am your mentor, my name is Saphiros Alsaas Diablo, remember it.â
The apprentices muttered dully, âYes, Mentor.â
Everyoneâs spirits were pretty low.
But itâs understandable; if oneâs body was constantly cut open and experimented on, maintaining a positive outlook would be impossible.
Anyway, it didnât matter as long as they were obedient.
Lynch asked, âWho here is in charge?â
Everyoneâs gaze shifted to a girl with pink hair, delicate features, and no visible alterations, the most normal among the apprentices.
This was Alya, chosen for her beauty by Tristan as a release tool, thus left unaltered and even appointed as apprentice master to manage other apprentices.
Hearing Lynchâs question, she stepped forward and said, âI am the apprentice master appointed by Mentor Tristan, Mentor.â
Lynch pointed at the fat man on the ground, âFind two people to arrange a room for this guest, be hospitable, but also strictly oversee him, not allowing him to leave the tower.â
Alya responded, âYes.â
After thinking, Lynch tasked Barton to spit out the Giant Troll Centipede consumed earlier and arrange it for guard duty in the tower, as he couldnât fully trust the apprentices yet and couldnât skip necessary precautions.
Two male apprentices with visibly enhanced muscles through bloodline modification came forth, carrying the fat man Seren down, one on each side.
âAlya, stay. The rest, back to your rooms to cultivate, donât come out without my orders.â
âYes.â
After dismissing everyone, Lynch continued to ask Alya, âDo you know where Tristanâs treasure house is?â
Alya nodded, âI do, Mentor.â
Tristan entrusted her with all matters large and small, as her soul mark was always held by Tristan, leaving no room for betrayal.
Lynch said, âTake me there.â
Following Alya out of the room, they turned to a corridor on the left, with a locked iron gate at the entrance. Alya took out a key to open it and proceeded forward until they reached the end of the corridor.
Here was a wall. Alya approached the wall, gently pressing an inconspicuous brick. With a low mechanical sound, the wall slowly parted, revealing a deep passage. Magic crystals emitting faint light were embedded on both sides of the passage, illuminating the path ahead.
âMentor, please follow me.â
Alya softly spoke, her tone slightly respectful, but mostly numbed and submissive. She was long accustomed to obedience, whether to Tristan or Lynch now; they were merely masters to serve in her eyes.
Lynch followed behind her, his gaze sweeping across the walls on either side of the passage. The walls were adorned with intricate Magic Runes, exuding a faint magic fluctuation. Clearly, this passage was not only concealed but filled with Protective Magic. Without Alyaâs guidance, any outsider attempting forced entry would likely trigger countless deadly traps.
The passage wasnât long; after a few minutes of walking, they arrived before a heavy metal door. A large Magic Gem was embedded on the door, shimmering with peculiar light, as if scrutinizing the identity of the visitor.
Alya stopped and looked at Lynch, âMentor, this door requires Tristanâs Spirit Imprint to open. Without the correct imprint, forcing entry would trigger the Defense Magic on the door, placing the entire tower on alert.â
âLeave it to me.â
Lynch stepped forward to inspect it, finding it to be merely a First Ring Magic Array, effective against wizard-level defenses, but meaningless against his Second Tier Mystic Technique.
He raised his hand to the door, his palm emanating a dim black light, potent dark elements, controlling them to penetrate the Magic Array along a specific path. In no time, Lynch easily dismantled the Defense Magic Array.
A âcrack!â sound followed.
The heavy metal door opened a crack.
Thus,
It was time for the most anticipated part: the spoils. What surprises would the ruler of the small Witch Domain of Feiyan City, this Witch Master, bring?
Filled with anticipation, Lynch pushed open the doorâŠ
