Chapter 661: Chapter 30: Blood-Red Cloud
Tower of Order, Seventh Arbitration Hall.
âBang!â
Veronicaâs fist, etched with metallic patterns, slammed fiercely onto the black iron table, creating a shallow dent on the hard metallic surface!
The fire of anger burning in her eyes was almost bursting out, her voice distorted and twisted by sheer rage: âUseless! Ragnar, that useless piece of trash! And those damned hyenas of his! They couldnât even handle a newly ascended Domain wizard with shaky foundations?! And got themselves trapped in it as well! âFire Swordâ? More like a fire poker!â
She could hardly believe it! After using the precious âDead Soul Flowerâ, the target was merely a recently entered Domain wizard, yet the infamous Sky Hunter group sent to accomplish the task ended up in such a miserable defeat!
From the shadows, Darianâs hoarse voice resonated, with a hint of gravity and disbelief: âThat silver-haired woman⌠Mid Domain! And that kind of pure Light Power⌠absolutely extraordinary! How could someone of such caliber be with Saphiro?! Is she a secret protector sent by Fran? Or⌠does he have a terrifying background unknown to us?â
This unexpectedly powerful mid-domain master thoroughly disrupted their predictions.
Cyrus, who had kept his eyes closed, slowly opened them. Those eyes containing the trajectories of the stars now bore no calm, only cold killing intent and a trace of⌠intense anger from being seriously provoked.
His aged voice, like ice scraping across metal, echoed in the dead silence of the Seventh Arbitration Hall: âWe have severely underestimated this Saphiro.â
âNot only does he possess the eerie power of multiple domains, but hidden by his side is assistance at least as strong as mid-domain! His intent in heading to Fran is far deeper and more dangerous than we imagined!â
âConventional âaccidentâ tactics are now ineffective. Activate the âCleansing Plan.â
Cyrusâs gaze was like eternal ice, allowing no rebuttal: âAt all costs. Before he reaches the core of Fran and gains its public protection, we must completely eliminate him!â
Veronica hesitated slightly: âBut the rules of the Supreme CouncilâŚâ
Cyrus sneered: âIâll find a way with the Council; so-called rules are built on the foundation of strength.â
âDonât forget how the Council was formed.â
âIt was our Tower of Order that established the current council order!â

In the eastern skies of the Sky World, the flying aircraft struggled through the lead-gray waves of clouds. The persistent high-intensity travel and previous battle wounds made each engine roar come with a heavy gasp.
âTap, tap, tap!â Footsteps sounded.
Lynch walked toward the deck, casting his gaze out at the sky.
He didnât know why, but since this morning, he had been feeling an inexplicable sense of unease, as if something was about to happen.
âDid you feel it too?â
At this moment, Kong also appeared on the deck, their eyes meeting mid-air, without words needed, both seeing the seriousness and confirmation in the otherâs eyes.
Lynch nodded gravely, his gray eyes scanning the seemingly calm, yet actually turbulent, lead-gray sea of clouds around them, the power of a triple domain quietly circulating within, ready to strike: âSomethingâs not right⌠It feels like something is⌠locking onto us.â
Just then!
âRe⌠report! Mr. Lynch! Mr. Kong!â An observer sailor came tumbling down from the high observation rope ladder, face pale, voice trembling with extreme fright, pointing towards the sky directly ahead of the aircraft, âAhead⌠thereâs something happening! A large⌠red cloud! Its speed⌠its speed is so fast!â
Red cloud?
Lynch and Kong both shuddered, immediately looking far in the direction the sailor pointed.
On the horizon ahead of the flying aircraft, against the backdrop of lead-gray clouds, an extremely abrupt dark red âcloudâ was spreading rapidly at an incredible speed!
Its color resembled coagulated, viscous blood, exuding a nauseating sense of impurity. Its form was far from the natural fluffy or layered cloud formations, with edges showing a bizarre, continuously writhing shape, almost like a living entity! More bizarrely, this âred cloudâ was moving directly towards the âCloud Whaleâ!
âHow could such a form of âdark cloudâ suddenly appear in the stratosphere?â Lynch frowned tightly, a sudden surge of unease sweeping over him. He was well acquainted with the cloud patterns of the Sky World, and this âred cloud,â regardless of its color, shape, or location of appearance, reeked of something unspeakably sinister!
âAvoid it!â Kong quickly decided, with his icy voice transmitting the command through the magical array, âHelmsman! Full left rudder! Maximum evasive course! Increase engine power to the critical threshold! Quickly!â
The captain hesitated not at all, shouting the order back. The massive flying aircraft let out a deep groan, its enormous body beginning a laborious tilt and turn, with the deformed propeller at its rear emitting more piercing screeches, attempting to evade the ominous crimson.
However, it was all too late!
Just as the âCloud Whaleâ began its turning maneuver, that blood-like, viscous âred cloudâ seemed to catch the scent of its prey and suddenly accelerated! The speed of its spread and movement instantly increased by several magnitudes, like a blood-red torrent flooding forward toward the flying aircraft!

The distance between the two closed rapidly with each heartbeat!
When that âred cloudâ drew close enough for details to be discerned, everyone on the deck, including Lynch and Kong, felt a chill rise from their feet to the crowns of their skulls, their scalps instantly tingling!
That was no red cloud at all!
It was an enormous horde of monsters, blotting out the sky!
They bore humanoid female bodies but were covered with dark red, featherless, rough leathery wings akin to flayed skin, with sickly pale skin crisscrossed by twisted black veins.
Their sharp, talon-like hands and feet gleamed with a metallic sheen. Most horrific of all was their headsâ
No eyes, only a wide-open maw stretching to the ears, filled with dense, jagged teeth! Viscous salivation with a potent reek of blood dripped constantly from their mouths.
The massive wingbeats were silent, their wings slicing through the air with a teeth-aching sound like countless rags being simultaneously torn apart!
Blood Harpies!
And not just one or two, but thousands, tens of thousands! Densely packed, filling the entire visual field! Like migrating locusts, like a surging sea of blood, carrying an overwhelming ferocity that turned the sky ahead into a hopeless dark red!
The thick, nearly tangible stench of blood and frenzied chaotic aura even permeated through the protective barrier of the flying aircraft, filling the air above the deck!
Lynch and Kongâs faces instantly turned extremely grim.
Blood Harpies, comparable to a Third-tier level powerful magic life, although lacking a domain, their physical attributes had genuinely reached a Third-tier level, classified as pseudo-third-tier magic life.
One or two could be manageable, but this scaleâŚ
âHere they come!â Kongâs voice hitched.
Just then, that red cloud abruptly accelerated again, its dense horde of Harpies overwhelming, attacking Lynch and their group!
