The massive body of the Void Serpent descended almost silently, its membranous wings folding in, merging into the environment like two deep shadows.
Spirit had been watching the movements of these two people, and it wasnât until they got closer that he realized they were acquaintances.
Even in the dim light, Spirit could instantly recognize that distinctive, impeccably groomed blond hairâit was Bell Crawford.
As for the figure like a cast-iron statue behind him, Spirit didnât know him. From his attire and attitude toward Bell, he was probably Bellâs servant.
This person had a very unusual aura, possessing the power of a Level 1 Mage at the pinnacle of crystallization.
Reidâs expression was blank, his gaze swept coldly over the expansive and eerie Crystal Pillar Forest below.
Bell was the first to leap off the serpentâs back, his movements carried with a deliberate elegance.
The expensive, tailored Wizard Robe he wore shimmered slightly in the dense Dark Energy environment, looking completely out of place.
He frowned, disdainfully dusting off non-existent dust from his shoulder as if the air here was tainted.
"Finally here... This damned ghost-like place drifting in the void!" Bellâs voice was filled with obvious impatience and a trace of fatigue, "Reid, are the coordinates correct?"
Reid silently landed half a step behind Bell, his movements as precise as if measured with a ruler.
Holding a Crystal Compass flickering with complex runes, his voice flat and emotionless: "Confirmed, Master. The target fragmentâs area is the Eternal Darkness Corridor. The current coordinates match 98.7% with the latest trajectory map we bought at great expense. We tracked its three cyclical movements to catch its entrance window."
"98.7%? Hmph, that damned 1.3% almost made us crash into the edge of the annihilation storm!" Bellâs tone was full of resentment as he looked around at the twisted black crystal pillars, the pervasive cold fog, and the surrounding desolate, decayed environment, his disgust intensified.
Bell had never been this exhausted before, all his previous cultivation and study were always prepared for him; he only needed to accept them.
Since arriving at the Void Corridor, everything had to be done by himself.
Even with Reid by his side, there was not much help, as Reid was mainly responsible for defense.
For the past month, Bell had been constantly calculating with that map and Reid, constantly searching for coordinate locations, and they often miscalculated, ending up in many other places.
Reid hadnât been spared from punishment, often receiving Bellâs magic attacks.
He neither dodged nor avoided, just taking it, as enduring such was his duty as a loyal servant.
Bell had never physically struck Reid because his body was simply too strong; a normal person hitting him would only shatter their own hand bones.
"A whole month spent! Chasing an elusive island running around on its own! The environment here is simply repulsive, though the Dark Attribute Energy is fairly abundant."
Bell kept complaining, not lowering his voice, seemingly never considering there might be others around.
After all, they spent a whole month with great effort to find this place; Bell didnât believe anybody else could get here.
Bell took out an ancient leather scroll with special material from the Space Ring, carefully unfolding it, the map drawn on it showing the Eternal Darkness Corridor.
The mapâs information wasnât very detailed, but several special points were marked with scarlet runes in key locations.
Putting away the map, he looked up towards the deepest part of the Crystal Pillar Forest, where the pillars were most dark and twisted, a determined glow in his eyes.
"Reid, after all the effort to get here, we must obtain that drop of Blood of the Dark!" Bell said fiercely to Reid, meaning he wanted Reid to do whatever it took to get the Blood of the Dark.
Reidâs expression remained wooden, showing no emotion as he spoke: "Understood, Master."
Bell waved his hand, and the two Void Serpents behind him burrowed into space, returning to their original plane.
He then stepped towards the depths of the Crystal Pillar Forest, Reid, like the most silent shadow, followed closely behind, his figure seemingly merging with the surrounding darkness, emitting a darkness even more condensed than the environment.
The two quickly vanished between the layers of enormous, bizarre-shaped black crystal pillars, leaving only faint traces of presence lingering in the air.
They hadnât considered the existence of others, so they hadnât done anything to erase traces.
Or perhaps, even if there were other wizards following, it wouldnât matter to them.
This time, the wizards entering here were all Level 1 Mages, and Bell didnât think any Level 1 Mage could be his match, especially with Reid by his side.
Spirit waited until they left, still holding his breath, perfectly merging with the environment.
Having a high Dark Attribute Affinity, Spirit could utilize the surrounding dense Dark Attribute Energy to hide himself well.
In such an expansive Dark Attribute Energy environment, Spirit perfectly concealed his presence.
As for Dog-man Reid, Spirit had already summoned him into the Light God Court.
"Blood of the Dark?" Spirit frowned slightly, keenly capturing the term.
"To make Bell personally take risks and to track it for a month before entering, this thing is definitely extraordinary."
Whether out of self-interest or personal enmity, Spirit wouldnât just let Bell leave; this threat would need to be resolved sooner or later.
Watching the direction where Bell and Reid disappeared, a gleam flickered in Spiritâs eyes, and he summoned Dog-man Reid again.
"Reid, remember their scent," Spirit whispered, as Dog-manâs nose had a unique talent for tracking.
Scents that were subtle to him were very clear to Reid, who could distinctly smell the trail.
"Yes, Lord Spirit," Reid replied softly, his nostrils flaring, firmly locking onto the two scents in the air.
Spirit didnât immediately follow, instead patiently waiting for a moment, ensuring they had moved far away.
Again, he took out his Energy Detector, his Spiritual Power delving into it, carefully sensing the flow of energy around.
Maintaining the highest level of caution was continually necessary, a lapse could swiftly turn hunter into prey.
With Dog-man Reid around, Spirit neednât worry about losing track; keeping a constant distance was the safest approach.
Spirit also didnât use the Eye of Darkness, as the Crawford Clan was inherently a Dark Attribute Bloodline Wizard Clan, surely possessing means to detect the Shadow Space, and had used such means to monitor Spirit before.
