In the desert.
Gu Qing Shan was currently standing in mid-air, operating a formation plate.
Periodically, light would come off of the formation plate and turn into a streak that shot itself into the vast desert below.
While watching him, Little Xi couldnât help but speak up: âWe need to hurry up, quite a few poems mustâve already been found and analyzed alreadyâ
âI knowâ Gu Qing Shan told her.
Little Xi muttered: âBut that scorpion is so powerful, with it watching over the entrance to the labyrinth, with our current strength, itâll be a very hard battleâ
âHm, I knowâ Gu Qing Shan replied.
He changed positions and continued to set up more formations.
Little Xi exclaimed: âThe wardens from the Abyss of Sin are basically all at his level, some of them even more powerful than he is. With such a force watching over them, no one would be able to enter the labyrinth and bring the 3 Divine Armaments outâ
âI also know thatâ Gu Qing Shan replied.
Little Xi reached her hand to grab his arm and shook him: âIf we canât get the Divine Armaments, you wonât be able to become a Demigod, the creature wonât be sealed again, and we might even possibly die here!â
Since his arm was shaken, the formation he was arranging got interrupted.
He couldnât keep on arranging the formations.
So he stopped and weakly told her: âI already know everything that you just said, so Iâm preparing for it right nowâ
Seeing him so indifferent, Little Xi felt a bit relieved.
âWhat are you trying to prepare?â Little Xi asked curiously.
Gu Qing Shan explained: âI canât confirm for sure whether or not the scorpion is actually dead, so I âm setting up a non-lethal measure against himâ
âEver since a long time ago, Iâve always considered what I should do in case I donât want to kill someone outright, and the result was this formationâ ââ this is a combination of formations that I came up with after my long years of practicing formationsâ
âA cultivation formation right? I know a bit about them, but Iâve never seen a formation being set up like what youâre doingâ Little Xi scowled.
âTime is always changingâ Gu Qing Shan replied.
He resumed arranging formations and asked her: âLittle Xi, you said you sealed his creature away countless years ago, how did you do it at the time?â
Little Xi thought for a while before answering: âI just beat it and beat it over and over again, I beat it until it couldnât resist anymore and then sealed it awayâ
Gu Qing Shan was speechless.
âDid the monster just stand still and let you beat it?â he asked.
âIt used its countless arms trying to catch me while unleashing a sort of devastating invisible attack over and over againâ Little Xi answered.
âInvisible attack?â
âHm, I donât know what it was, but it didnât affect me. Everyone else as well as the Divinities seemed to be very wary of that invisible attack thoughâ Little Xi told him.
Gu Qing Shan thought about that: âIt seems you have some sort of unique power that allows you to be unaffected by the creatureâs invisible attacksâŠâ
While talking, his hands were still quickly operating the formation plate.
Beautiful and colorful lights shined all over the desert.
The lights melted together, slowly converged into one before fading into the void of space.
The formation was complete!
Gu Qing Shan carefully checked it before putting the formation plate away: âLetâs go, we need to collect more intelâ
â Go where?â Little Xi asked.
âThe seven Godsâ labyrinthâ
âYouâre going to fight that scorpion head-on?â Little Xi was surprised.
âNo, Iâm just asking him some questionsâ
âYou think heâs going to answer you honestly?â
âItâs worth a tryâ
â⊠I really donât understand what youâre thinkingâ Little Xi sighed.
The entrance of the labyrinth.
Gu Qing Shan and Little Xi landed.
He was holding onto Little Xi with one hand while hiding the formation plate inside his sleeves with the other.
The black-skinned man appeared, facing him again.
âWhy did you return?â the black-skinned man asked.
âI forgot somethingâ Gu Qing Shan said.
âWhat?â the black-skinned man asked.
âAccording to what the seven Gods said, if I go into the labyrinth to collect the 3 Divine Armaments, Iâll be able to seal that creature away, I think we might be able to do thatâ Gu Qing Shan said.
âAnd what are you going to do?â the black-skinned man asked.
âI discovered that the entrance to the labyrinth is hidden right under the sand dune behind youâ Gu Qing Shan explained.
âIs that so?â the black- skinned man grinned.
âThatâs right, so how about you come with us into the labyrinth and look for the 3 Divine Armaments togetherâ Gu Qing Shan offered.
He was carefully observing the manâs face.
His face became slacked slightly before reluctantly curving the corner of his mouth to form a smile.
âSo thatâs what this is about, then did you find the way to leave yet?â the man asked in a gentle tone.
Gu Qing Shan was shocked.
âI think thatâs better left for after we find the Divine Armamentsâ he slowly spoke.
Immediately, he triggered the seal he prepared on the formation plate.
A flash of light.
A long-distance warp formation was activated!
Both he and Little Xi disappeared.
Right as they disappeared, the sound of the air being ripped apart could be heard .
Shillâââ
A long black tail stinger arrived from the air, piercing the area where Gu Qing Shan originally stood, turning all the yellow sand a sickly green color, sizzling as it was melting.
âGone? How regretful, just a bit moreâ
The black-skinned man muttered in a low, cruel voice.
In the desert.
Very far away.
Countless light appeared in mid air, slowly forming a 5-colored light.
As the light scattered, the figure of two people appeared in the desert.
Gu Qing Shan and Little Xi.
âDid you set up a warp formation?â Little Xi asked.
âYep, so that we can leave whenever we want toâ Gu Qing Shan replied.
The two of them stood still and said nothing for now.
After this, the scorpionâs intent not to let them enter the labyrinth was clear, ripping all pretense away.
âNow that weâre confirmed to be enemies, should we go take him on?â Little Xi asked.
âNo, Iâm curious about something. He was very insistent on whether or not we could leaveâ Gu Qing Shan fell into thought.
Little Xi told him like it was obvious: âIf the creature was controlling him, of course, the creature would want to leaveâ
Gu Qing Shan continued: âWeâre going to try something againâ
Little Xi reminded him: âWe really should hurry up, the others might have already found and analyzed quite a few poems of divinationâ
Gu Qing Shan casually replied: âThe more weâre in a hurry, the less hurried we should be, letâs goâ
A few moments later.
They once again stood facing the black-skinned man.
Without waiting for him to do anything, Gu Qing Shan shouted: âWe found the way to leave, do you want to come with us?â
He black-skinned man was initially taking an offensive stance, but as soon as he heard this, his fighting spirit disappeared.
âThe way to leave, the way to leave, the way⊠to leaveâŠâ he muttered again and again.
âYeahâ Gu Qing Shan offered: âLetâs go, come with us and leave this damned worldâ
The black-skinned manâs eyes were hollow, but still tried to make a smiling expression: âDamned world, yes, well said, we should leaveâ
He began to walk towards Gu Qing Shan and Little Xi.
âWait a minute! Thereâs something elseâ Gu Qing Shan put his hand forward.
The black-skinned man instantly appeared furious, his voice becoming cruel and mad: âWhat? You donât want to take me?â
âI just think that since this is such a good chance, why donât you bring your wife and child with us as wellâ Gu Qing Shan smiled and said.
