The drive to the Villa was twenty minutes, but it only took Stuart eight minutes to get there. He didnât even park his car, he threw his keys at the doorman and went straight to the tenth floor with Todd.
As soon as he stepped out, he heard the sound of a doorbell in the corridor. There was a woman ringing the doorbell of room 1003. She turned her head when she heard footsteps coming toward her.
Their eyes met, and suddenly the look on both of their faces changed. The woman turned around and started to leave, and it was Queenie.
Todd did not expect to see Queenie here, and he was shocked. When she started to turn around, he seized Queenieâs wrist. "What are you running away from?" She turned her head quickly as if she could feel his intense gaze. It was apparent she didnât want to see him.
Her heart was uncontrollably beating as she was trying to remain calm. "Mr. Anderson, please have some respect and take your hands off me." Todd only wanted to talk to her, but her attitude and how she spoke to him just made him angry.
He clenched his jaw, and his pain was buried and hidden as he thought about their past. Miss peach blossom shows sarcasm in her eyes, "Respect, eh? Queenie, have you forgotten who you are? You wouldnât be here today if it werenât for me." Todd said.
"Todd," Stuart said as a warning in a cold voice. Todd slowly loosened Queenieâs wrist at the sound of Stuartâs voice. Queenie put down her wrist and took a step back.
Stuart went up to Queenie and asked, "You were ringing Edieâs doorbell? Is she not in the room?"
Queenie didnât expect him to ask about Edie. How does Stuart know her? "Edieâs cell phone is turned off, and her assistant couldnât find her. So I came over to see if she was asleep, but I rang the doorbell, and there was no response. I donât think sheâs in there."
His face clouded over with disappointment and asked, "Where did she go after she was done filming?"
Queenie turned her head and looked at Stuart, "Her assistant said that Edie told her she had something to do after work, but for some reason, she ended up going for coffee with Zoe."
"Who is Zoe?" he asked. "Is she an actress in The White-Love-Song?"
Queenie knew about all of the friction between Edie and Zoe, and she looked worried. She then told Stuart, "They had an argument, Zoe had done something to Edieâs shoes."
It was around six when Edie and Zoe went to the coffee shop, and she still isnât back. Do you suppose she is still with Zoe?"
Edie never told him anything about Zoe. Why didnât she say something? His eyes narrowed with suspicion. Hesitating, Stuart took out his phone and dialed a number.
It only rang once, and someone quickly answered. "Master." It was Yorkâs respectful voice. "I will be there in three minutes, and I want all the surveillance from the coffee shop from six to eight oâclock this evening."
York was a little unresponsive, "Surveillance? Didnât you go on a vacation? What happened?"
"I donât just want the videos from the coffee shop, but everything you have in and outside the Villa. They have ten minutes and ask the person in charge of the Villa to meet me there."
York heard the chill in Stuartâs voice and knew right away that something was going on; he didnât dare ask any more questions. He just said, "Itâs already done, Master Yates."
In about twenty minutes, a group of about fifty men came from the Yates Family army. York was surprised that the young master was going to use the familyâs security.
Private troops were recruited directly from the military. They were trained by special forces to ensure the safety of the Yates Family heirs. Stuartâs bodyguards were chosen from the familyâs private armies.
Now he was calling in the private army! What a great event it was! "I will obey your command," York said seriously.
Stuartsâ dark, cold eyes looked at York, "if anyone has put so much as one finger on her, no matter who it is, will pay the price."
Zoe had just taken a bath and was lying on her bed watching TV, looking very content.
She never expected Edie to be so naive that she wouldnât take any precautions before coming to meet her at the coffee shop.
The coffee shop was full of people that worked for Mr. Luis. He had arranged for someone to slip a pill in her drink. Edie was drugged, and it was so easily done.
She could not help laughing at the thought of Edie being weighed down by that fat man tonight.
There were three pinhole cameras in Mr. Luisâs room. They made sure everything could be seen in every direction. Zoe intended to sell the video to the paparazzi, and Edie would never be able to show her face in public again.
The White-Love-Song was such a big production, and they would never protect a disreputable actress. Therefore, she would undoubtedly be replaced. Zoe thought about it for a while, "I am an amazing actress. Whether on camera or off, everyone will know who I am."
How easy it was for her to convince Edie that she had changed. She looked at herself in the mirror and was memorized by her own beauty and said, "Edie, is a nobody and will stay that way. I made sure of that."
As she was getting ready to put on her face cream, there was a sudden knock at the door. Then there was a loud bang. Zoe didnât have a room by herself, and she shared one with her assistant. Only the leading actors and actresses had their own rooms.
She thought her assistant had forgotten her card and said impatiently, "You donât have your room card again." She walked slowly to the door and then she opened it. Her mouth dropped open.
Zoe recognized Stuart from this afternoon. There standing in front of her was a man dressed in a custom-made suit of iron-gray, with dark, cold eyes. Stuartâs eyes looked so severe that she could not help but shiver.
He was one of the most handsome men that she had ever seen, but what was he doing here this late at night? Why would he be knocking on her door? Maybe he liked her?
Just thinking about it made Zoeâs heart start beating very fast with excitement.
She remembered when she met Stuart today that he didnât even look in her direction, was he looking for her? She opened the door shyly and asked in a sweet voice, "Itâs so late, Master Yates, were you looking for me? I am sorry, it isnât very often that I am in my room alone."
Stuartâs eyes were as cold as ice, and she were filled with disgust. He looked at her as if he were looking at a piece of garbage.
"Where is Edie?"
