Edie knew there was no point in asking any more questions and gave up, leaving Julian to give her a complete physical. Julian had a medicine bag with all sorts of advanced instruments in it. He gave Edie a blood test, and he took her blood pressure.
After Childe Yatesâs kidnapping and almost drowning, she was covered in small wounds. Carol had already changed her clothes. Julian took a bottle of medicine out of his bag and asked Edie to put it on daily until it was healed.
Edie looked at Carol expressionless and did not look amused. Her blood pressure was high, according to the aneroid monitor, and it was an extremely high reading, which was not good for her body. Julian was concerned and looked in his bag, "Here is some more medication for you, Mrs. Yates. Take this and get a good nightâs sleep. It will help you recover more quickly."
"I donât want to take it," Edie refused to take the medication. She had a hunch that all of them knew the truth, and she was here all alone and knew nothing. Why should she take medicine?
"Mrs. Yates, wherever Master is, Master cares most about you and wants you to be well. How can Master his work if he has to worry about you?"
What Julian had said hit a soft spot in Edieâs heart, and Stuart risked everything to save her time and time again. So, as much as she didnât want to, she took the medicine that Julian had given her. After receiving the medication, she looked at all the people in the room, "Since you wonât tell me the truth, you donât have to stand here looking at me. Could you please leave my room?"
Julian and Mr. Sampson looked at each other, and knowing that she was upset, they agreed, "We will leave you alone for now, but please, Mrs. Yates get some rest."
When they left the room, Mr. Sampson hesitantly asked Julian, "Mr. Julian, is it really necessary for Mrs. Yates to not know about what happened?"
"At least for now," "Said Julian flatly. "Itâs the Masterâs command, and we have to do it, or the master will be upset."
Mr. Sampson sighed, "Okay."
Edie could hear them walking away, and when she couldnât hear them anymore, she got out of bed, took out her phone and dialed Stuartâs number. They wouldnât tell her the truth, so she wanted to find out from Stuart.
However, Stuartâs private phone number, which is always on, was shut down. Edie was still determined, and she dialed Childe Yatesâ number, and it said, "The number you have dialed does not exist, please check it and dial again."
It was only a few hours ago that the two brothers were facing each other, and now they were gone! Edie sat beside her bed, and there was a blank expression on her face. She sat there motionless and began to feel sad, "He always called me his wife, and now I canât reach him. I have no idea if he is hurt or what he is feeling. Where are you, Stuart?"
The more she thought about it, the more pain she felt. She was in so much agony. There was only one thought that remained in her mind, "Even if you donât contact me, Stuart, please be safe."
The next day, Edie got up early. Julian had told her that the medicine was very effective. After taking it, she slept very soundly. She had no nightmares and was in good spirits the next morning. She changed her clothes and went downstairs. She went to the dining room, and she saw a table full of delicious food, but Stuartâs place was empty. The empty seat was like her empty heart.
After she married Stuart, he would eat breakfast with her no matter how busy he was. Edie sat down and barely ate anything. Mr. Sampson quickly noticed how her mood had changed and asked, "What are your plans for today, Mrs. Yates?"
"Mr. Sampson, could you please help me prepare the car. I am going back to film production."
"Youâd better rest for a few more days. You donât need to rush back to work. Besides, it is not safe for you there."
"Unsafe?" Edie raised her eyebrows and looked at Mr. Sampson, "Iâm just an infamous actress. How dangerous could it be? Besides, wasnât Childe Yates only playing a game? Then he shouldnât be bothering me again. I donât have anything to do, but work."
Mr. Sampson choked on what he had said, and seeing that Edie had made up her mind, he said, "Iâll arrange the car for you right away." After breakfast, the car was waiting outside to take Edie. When she got into the car, she found that Ivan was the one who was in the driverâs seat.
Ivan greeted her, respectfully, "Would you like to know about Stuartâs business trip to Japan?" Ivan was ready to answer, but Edieâs own words came back a little stiffly, "Iâm afraid I misunderstood, I donât see the point because I will not get the truth."
Edie smiled scornfully and said, "It must have been a crucial business trip to have Stuart go to Japan so quickly that he didnât even take his secretary with him?" Ivanâs face changed a little. He knew he couldnât fool Edie, but what he didnât realize is that she was starting to see things more clearly.
Ivan had been with Stuart for so long, "Japan is not the only L.N. headquarters. It also is the CEOâs home, and theyâre also will be a secretary in charge of the corresponding work. I am in charge of this city, and I am helping the CEO take care of you."
Edie could tell that he was still lying to her, and her eyes grew dim. She turned her head and looked out the window and wouldnât say another word. There was nothing but silence. The color drained from her face.
Everyone was lying to her, and they thought it was good for her, but what they didnât know is that it only made her worry more. She just wanted to know what happened and if he was okay.
Ivan was relieved when he thought Edie had given up pursuing the matter, he heard the faint voice of Edie in the back seat, "When you talk to him, please tell him Iâm worried."
