Eddie wasnât in a good mood, but she tried to keep her spirits up and asked, "So whatâs the good news?"
"In The Dynasty Elegy, the Prince Raines casting has been decided."
The role of Prince Raines wasnât an important character, but he was dating Mae, and her role was played by Eddie. The choice of this role was very significant to Eddie.
"Who is it?" she asked excitedly. Dannyâs expression looked a little overjoyed, "I know what luck youâve had and that youâve had some hardships in love. Your career seems to be taking a turn for the better. Clyde has taken the role of Prince Raines!"
Hearing the name, Eddie was utterly stunned, "Clyde? Why did he get the role?"
Although Dynasty Elegy was a big production, it was a female drama after all. The actorâs part was not a big role. Even the Lead actor emperor was only a supporting actor.
But Clyde was now the most famous male entertainer, not to mention Prince Raines. Even if he were invited to be the leading actor, Clyde would be looked down on. Eddie started to think about the last meeting she had with Clyde. It happened here at The Star Entertainment, and Clyde said those strange words, and he had such a confusing attitude.
Then Eddie had a crazy idea, "Did Clyde want to connect with me by acting in this role?"
The idea took her by surprise, and she was too narcissistic. Eddie acted as though nothing happened, and she asked Danny, "Why? Would he even consider auditioning for this role?"
Years of experience had made her dislike this sudden approach, and if Clyde was really acting because of her, she needed to think about the purpose behind Clyde.
"I heard he owed Malloy a favor when he first became a star. Heâs acting the role of Prince Raines to pay back Malloy. As you know, with Clydeâs popularity, as long as he does a few episodes, the drama will be famous."
It turned out to be Director Malloy. Eddieâs heart dropped a little. Danny continued, "I know what luck youâve had. Even heaven can help you. When the news of Clydeâs performance of Prince Raines is publicized, the drama will be over the top."
Eddieâs smile was slightly bitter, "Didnât you just say, I was frustrated in love, but thriving in business?"
Coming out of Dannyâs office and walking downstairs, the young woman at the front desk in the lobby quietly said, "Eddie, someoneâs waiting for you."
Eddieâs heart jumped, and she thought it was Stuart.
"You made me wait for such a long time." A jesting voice came from the door. Eddie looked at the door and saw a man in a gray, thin sweater. He had a childish smile on his lips and a playful look in his eyes. The smile was more beautiful than a woman, but it was not effeminate.
The way Eddieâs brow furrowed, she wasnât pleased, "Itâs Aaron. Why is he here?"
The woman at the front desk asked, "Eddie, which star is he? Why havenât I seen him before? Is this your boyfriend?"
It was true that Aaronâs appearance was very handsome. Therefore the woman at the front desk thought he was a star. When she noticed Aaron staring straight at Eddie, she couldnât help speculating about their relationship.
Aaron seemed satisfied with the young woman at the front desk. He smiled more charmingly and winked at her, "Youâre very observant. Yes, I am her boyfriend. Hasnât she ever talked to you about me?"
The woman at the front desk shook her head. Female stars respected their individual privacy. It was more important than anything else, and this wasnât something that they would mention easily. But Eddieâs boyfriend was so handsome, and he didnât look like any regular guy.
After Eddie hearing what Aaron said, she became furious, "What are you talking about? Are you trying to discredit me?"
Aaron stepped forward and, with a firm hand, wrapped it around Eddieâs waist. She tried to struggle, but he whispered, "Donât move. You donât want me to do something terrible here, do you?"
It only took a few words, and Eddie stopped struggling. Aaron was a person of extreme character who was not afraid of anything. If he were provoked, it would be hard to say what he would do.
Eddie gritted her teeth and put down her hand. When Aaron saw that she was obedient, he was in a better mood. He took her in his arms and walked out of the building.
As soon as they left, Eddie pushed Aaron away from her arms and looked at him with a look of hostility, "Why are you here? What are you going to do?"
Aaron looked hurt, "I told you I wasnât going to hurt you again. You are so afraid of me, and that makes me a little sad."
Eddie knew his character so well that she didnât believe a word he said, "Why are you talking in front of my colleagues? Why are you spreading around all this gossip?"
"Eddie baby, are you angry?"
Seeing Eddieâs anger, Aaron laughed even more.
"Baby? Are you serious? It makes me sick to hear you call me this."
Eddie frowned and looked at him, impatiently, "You exactly know who I am, Aaron. Iâm your sister-in-law, and you do not respect me."
"Elder sister-in-law, you misunderstand me. If I didnât respect you, I would not be eager to come to the company to look for you. I enjoy your company and only came here to talk to you."
At least she hadnât divorced Stuart yet, and the name sister-in-law was still indeed hers.
"What do you want from me?"
"I have been coming to the city for a long time, and no one has taken me to go out for a while. I want someone to accompany me. I still think you are the most suitable one. Are you my sister-in-law? Shouldnât you take me to look around?"
Aaron raised eyebrows questionably and had a natural look on his face. Eddie didnât want to have anything to do with this weird guy. She opened her mouth and tried to say no, but Aaron wouldnât listen to her.
He immediately put her in the car. Eddie, who was not as strong as Aaron, stared angrily at him and wanted to vent her frustration. Aaron felt uncomfortable with the way she was looking at him.
He didnât know why Eddieâs big eyes seemed magical. When he saw her sad, he felt sad. When he saw her crying, he also felt sad. Now when he sees the undisguised anger in her eyes, he actually wants to reassure her.
"You really donât need to worry. I am not going to do anything. I just wanted to spend some time with you. Would you like to go for a walk?"
Eddie sneers, "Do you think I actually believe you?"
The man in front of her did not speak words, and dishonesty is all she had ever known.
