After half an hour, Ian arrived at the wood and found Stuart. His whole body was wet from the dew on branches and leaves; chilliness passed onto Ianâs palm as he touched Stuartâs skin, he shivered.
Ian took off his own coat and put it on Stuart. Stuart was always calm and rational. Why would he easily believe in Aaronâs words? After all, the reason was he was too desperate to find Edie.
Ian said worriedly, "CEO, Mrs. Yates is not here, Master Yates had already found her; she was taken away by Lady Brittany."
The taunted nerve in Stuart immediately collapsed, he said nothing and followed Ian to the car. Aaronâs eyes on the balcony captured the scene, and he curved his mouth into a smile, "Stuart, I found Edie. First, I won, I won once at last."
However, his smile was a little aloof.
Brittany had her own villa, although her villa was not as luxurious as Stuartâs, it still had two floors and a small garden. Ever since she turned 18, she moved out by herself. Edie was, so heartbroken, but she didnât know where to go.
She didnât have any friends in this strange country, after thinking over all the people she knew, she could only think of Brittany. She needed a place to heal desperately. Brittany was an expert with the relationship, as soon as she got Edieâs call, she knew there must be something wrong between them, so she took Edie home immediately.
Edie said she didnât want Stuart to find her. So Brittany deleted all surveillance videos except for the video in the hospital.
She finally had the chance to get revenge for all the scolding from Stuart in the past. The thought of Stuart being so worried made Brittany want to chuckle.
But, as time passed, Brittany changed her mind.
Because Edie was so extremely quiet, and had no extra facial expression, if it werenât for her red eyes, Brittany would never know she was upset.
As soon as Edie arrived, she had been sitting on the sofa. If Brittany hands her over a glass of water, she will take a sip, and if Brittany hands her over some food, she will take a bite.
Then she just stared at the Television.
But the TV was broadcasting some boring political news, even Brittany thought it was boring, but Edie watched devotedly, even the advertisements in between.
Brittany understood at once, Edie wasnât focusing at all. She asked Edie what happened, but Edie wouldnât say anything. She only planned on staying here for a few hours until her emotions subside.
She had nowhere to go, her passport was still at home, she had to face Stuart eventually, but she was still not prepared. She wanted to be an emu, and hide here for as long as she could.
She didnât want to get compared with Marina, and she was afraid of losing the battle too badly.
Before today, she thought she was not afraid of winning or losing, but the thought of Stuart leaving her stabbed her heart like a sawtooth knife. She fell too hard for him and loved him with all her heart, which caused her to worry too much about losing Stuart.
However, she had already decided, if Stuart chooses Marina, she will let him go without hesitation. After what happened with Donald, she knew love could not be forced, letting go would be the best ending for both of them. The silence in the room was suffocating, Brittany was so bored, she wanted to talk!
"Edie, do you want to sleep over tonight? My brother would never be able to find you." She tried to start a conversation.
"Why wouldnât he be able to find me?" Edie was baffled.
Brittany revealed a sneaky smile and said, "Because I deleted all surveillance videos! He would never know who took you away! Arenât you mad at him, you can use this chance to take revenge on him!"
"What? Stuart would be so worried, no... I have to go find him..." Edie was shocked, and she never expected Brittany to take such an extreme action.
Edie knew Stuart well, if he couldnât find her, he would go crazy, plus he wouldnât know who took her away, what if it was a bad guy?
She dashed to the front too, but the moment she put her hand on the door handle, she stopped. Is he still at the hospital? Still revising his memory with Marina, and does he know she left? When did Stuart know Hick is Marina? Was the reason he took her to the hospital to tell her that he chose Marina and not her?
The more Edie thought, the worse it got. She had no self-confidence to challenge Stuartâs first lover, despite the fact that she had been in his heart for ten years. Before today, the reason why Stuart treated her well was that Marina was no longer alive, if Marian came back, would there still be a place for her? She held her head in agony and slid down the door slowly, then sat on the ground.
"Edie, whatâs wrong, donât scare me, do you have a headache? Do you need to go to the hospital?" Brittany rushed to her and checked worriedly.
"Brittany, what if... Marina is not dead; what will your brother do?" She asked rigidly.
"What are you talking about? If Marina is not dead, she would be married to my brother long ago. There is no if, Edie, are you ok? Why did you suddenly mention her?" Brittany was puzzled.
Her careless words buried a seed in Edieâs heart. If Marina was still alive, they would be married by now, and she wouldnât have a chance at all. Marina died because of Stuart, he looked for her for ten years, wasnât it a dream come true?
"What if... she is still alive?" Edie asked as she shivered, she already had the answer, but she wanted to listen to someone elseâs opinion.
Brittany was startled.
Still alive?
"Why... would I know that, if sheâs still alive, my brother will go crazy! An ex-girlfriend, itâs very complicated! Edie, whatâs wrong? Why are you always mentioning Marina? Did you two fight because of her? Honestly, although my brother cares very much about Marian, she is dead, thereâs no need to compete with a dead person, right? Looking at how my brother treats you, donât tell me you donât get it?"
Edie shook her head with a pale face, "I donât."
"What?" Brittany was baffled by Edieâs crisp answer.
Edie only smiled bitterly. She thought she knew, but now she doubted everything.
At this moment, the doorbell rang.
