"What will you do?" Edie swallowed unintentionally and was a little scared.
Stuartās eyes gradually deepened, his robust body overtopped Edie, pressing her down on the sofa, firmly trapping her in their arms.
He said, "What do you think?"
His hot breath sprayed on her face, making her slightly uneasy. Her little hands rested on his chest, and said in a flurry, "Stop messing around. Letās eat breakfast!"
"I want to eat you. What should I do?"
Stuartās eyes were bright, he said in a very serious tone.
Edie was silent for a while.
Finally, she bit her lip and punched him in the chest angrily. She rolled her eyes at him, "Get more serious!"
Stuartās face became paler, and sweat fell down his forehead, which frightened Edie.
She quickly retracted her hand, and nervously asked, "Whatās wrong? Are you all right?"
"It hurts." He frowned and said.
"Let me take a look!"
She lifted his clothes nervously to check. She discovered that there was no red print at all where she had punched. She looked up, trying to get angry at him for lying to her. But when she looked up, she fell into the vast night sky. His eyes were bright and shining, so deep and beautiful that they captured peopleās hearts at once.
All the words were stuck in her throat.
He grabbed her hand and put it on his chest and said, "If crying out for pain makes you care more about me, Iād like to be a weak person in front of you forever."
"Edie, do you love me?" He suddenly asked.
She did not hesitate.
"Yes."
How could she not?
"Thatās enough. No matter what happens in the future, I wonāt let go of your hand." Stuartās promise sounded like an announcement of the king to the world.
Edie hugged him more tightly, listening to his words, she felt extraordinarily comfortable.
This breakfast was so sweet; then she asked him how he would handle Hickās affairs.
Stuart was thinking of letting her stay in the hospital then return to city A when she gets better. Edie was reassured of this answer. Once Stuart has decided on something, he would not change it easily. Since he chose her, she was willing to believe him wholeheartedly.
All she had to do was to believe in Stuart.
After breakfast, Ian walked in with a grim-face, but when he saw Edie, he shut up.
Edie immediately knew that they had something to talk about and left...
"Whatās wrong?" He asked lightly.
"We were unable to send Miss Day back to City A." Ianās face was extremely grim, he said with a frown.
Stuart winced, his eyes become chilly, he looked at Ian coldly.
Ian showed a bitter smile and hesitated for a moment before he said, "She... was suddenly taken away by president Lynch from Hawk Real Estate.
"Donald Lynch?" Stuart recited the name, and his eyes deepened, "Did he tell you the reason?"
"No, but Mr. Lynch invited you to meet him at the Flemings at eight oāclock in the evening."
"I see. Donāt tell Edie about it. Iāll take care of everything."
"Yes, master."
After Ian left, Stuartās glare became chilly inch by inch. It seemed that he could not keep it a secret any longer.
Meanwhile, in the wardāā
"Do you think I will believe in what you say?" Donald looked down at the magazine and didnāt even raise her eyelids to the woman in front of her.
Hicks didnāt feel any embarrassment either. She just smiled with ease, "If you never believed it, why did you tell Karen to invite Stuart to meet at 8 oāclock this evening?"
Donald heard the words and slowly raised his eyes. The amber-colored eyes flashed fiercely, "You overheard our conversation?"
Hicks was slightly frightened by his stare, and could not help frowning slightly.
She pretended to be calm and laughed, "Mr. Lynch, donāt forget that we are now working together. Iām scared by your attitude."
"Scared?" The man repeated, got out of the bed, his ghostly eyes stared intensely at Hicks.
Step by step... he approached!
When Hicks saw him coming, she couldnāt help frowning and stepping back until her back was against the wall, and was surprised to find she had been in a cold sweat.
"You... what do you want to do?" She said in horror because she had never seen him like this.
The next second, her neck was severely strangled by Donald, forcefully against the wall, a sudden sense of suffocation made her struggle in pain.
"You... let go... let me go!"
"You tell me all this because you want to get Stuart, you want to hurt Edie, but Iām not! We will never be in a cooperative relationship. If you dare to hurt Edie, Iāll make you die a painful death!"
Word by word, he said, his words were full of fierceness.
This man... was a killer!
"I... I see. But let go of me first!"
Hicks did not hesitate, and she hastily promised so that Donaldās hand would loosen.
She fell awkwardly down the wall and sat on the ground, breathing heavily for fresh air.
After a long time, she recovered and said, "I understand, I will not hurt Edie. I want to be with Stuart. You want to be with Edie, and our goal does not clash!"
"Get out of here!" Lynch commanded coldly.
She nodded hurriedly and left.
After she left, Karen came in and saw Donaldās gloomy face. Such a terrible look had not appeared on Donaldās face for a long time.
"What happened? Why did you bring this woman back and suddenly want to meet Stuart?"
Donaldās eyes suddenly became very distant, as if he had thought of something, his eyes were cool.
"When I was a child, my mother aimed at me all the time. Later, my father took me out and asked an aunt to take care of me for three years. Do you remember that?"
Karenās face changed slightly, and a touch of complex emotion flashed across his eyes.
He swallowed and nodded to show that he remembered the incident, "Why are you suddenly talking about it?"
"Do you know who the aunt was?" Donald looked at him.
Karen pretended to be calm and did not show any abnormality on his face. He asked calmly, "Who was it?"
