All doors were pulled down at the end, placed on the lawn.
Apparently, Hicks knew she couldnāt stop Bette, so she asked Stuart for help.
When Stuart arrived with Hicks and saw those doors, his face changed.
"Whereās the vice director?"
Stuart asked coldly
"In the living room," Mr. Sampson answered.
At the same time, Edie looked at the villa without a door, blankly.
"Mom, actually, we donāt have to do this. The doors...."
"Donāt worry. I would handle all these."
Edie suddenly realized the style of women in the Yates. All of them were determined while protecting what they wanted to protect."
Both Bette and Brittany were this kind of woman.
Stuart walked into the living room.
Edie raised his head, seeing his eyes, angry and scary.
Her heart started trembling.
But then she saw Hicks holding Stuartās arm tightly. She felt jealous of her.
Bette started talking.
"Whoās she? I donāt like her. Clear her out."
Immediately the construction team walked out and lifted Hicks up, preparing to throw Hicks out.
Hicks quickly stepped backward. Her eyes were filled with tears.
"Stuart, they ..."
Stuart squinted and stared at Edie sharply.
"What do you want?"
Edie smiled bitterly. She wanted to explain, but finally, she held all words back.
Stuart didnāt trust her anymore. He might believe that Bette did all this just for her. He didnāt even ask her what happened. Therefore, she decided to be silent. Her explanation wonāt make any difference at this point.
Bette answered, "it is me. Sheās your wife. She didnāt do anything. Stop yelling at her. You should treasure her as a husband. Besides, I need that bitch to leave now."
"You donāt have the right to do this, "Stuart said indifferently, neglecting Betteās words completely.
Bette sneered, fixing her eyes on Start, "what if I want to give Edie my share of the cooperation today? "
"What?" Edie froze when hearing Betteās words.
Stuart also couldnāt believe what Betteās said.
"From now on, sheās not only your wife but L.N.ās second-largest shareholder. I would hold the board meeting tomorrow. I hope you can come tomorrow."
"Vice president, are you out of mind? She was about divorce Stuart. Why do you give her this?"
Hicks couldnāt help herself interrupting the conversation. She really couldnāt understand what happened.
Bette threw an eye on her. Her eyes frightened Hicks.
"Shut your mouth up while I am talking,"
Hicks shut up immediately and stared at her frighteningly.
Edie asked, "Why, mom?"
Edie didnāt know anything about this. If Bette said this just to irritate Stuart, that would sound really ridiculous.
Bette smiled gently at her, "I want to focus on being your good mom-in-law now. Your husband couldnāt protect you, and then I would protect you. I would live here from now one. Mr. Sampson, clean up my room and throw that bitchās stuff out."
Then she looked towards Hicks.
Stuart stood aside in silence.
He squinted coldly.
He didnāt expect Bette to appear at this point. He was about to divorce Edie. The longer the divorce was delayed, the worse the situation would get.
He already knew Hicksā purpose. She wanted the passport of the safe. He would give her. But he should pretend he told her by accident.
He needed to divorce Edie and sent her to a safe place. Only in this way can he focus on dealing with the man behind Hicks.
But Bette came at this point. She even gave Edie her shares. Apparently, Edie meant a lot to Bette.
But, he didnāt know why.
He knew Bette liked Edie. But he didnāt expect Bette would make such a sacrifice for Edie.
It was...unbelievable.
He thought for a while in silence.
Then, he held Hicks in his arms and said, "all right, since you like this house. We can leave. Letās leave, darling."
"Stop," Bette turned towards them, "Stuart, do you have any idea what you are doing now? Your wife is Edie, not that bitch. Itās Edie that the girl you should spend your life protecting. Did you forget all these, totally?"
Hearing Betteās questioning, Stuart held fist tightly. Blood oozed out from the skin on his hands, wetting white gauze.
"I donāt remember what happened before. I donāt want to remember that, either, "
Stuart answered coldly without turning around.
Then, he left with Hicks directly.
Edie looked at his strong back blankly. The man kept attracting her. She didnāt want to move her eyes from his back.
But he kept telling her he loved another woman. What about her?
Why did he tell her he loves her?
Edie lowered her head, trying to get rid of the extreme pain.
Sheās been hurt by this man so many times these days. Sheās already got used to this feeling.
Then Edie turned towards Bette, "Mom, heās already forgotten me now. Donāt push him."
Bette looked at her gently. She wanted to say something to comfort her, like a mother comforting her daughter.
Edie made a slight smile and shrugged a shoulder, "donāt worry, he would remember me one day. Iāve insisted on a long time. I wonāt give up so easily. Stay with me tonight, mom. I would have those doors installed."
After Stuart left, the villa fell into silence again.
Edie looked lost
"Hungry? Time for lunch."
Edie knew Bette came here to help her. She wanted to express her appreciation,
"Mom, I want to cook several dishes at home. Youāll like it."
"Great. We can take them to L.N."
That was also Edieās plan.
When they arrived at the cooperation, Stuart was still at work.
After waiting there for about fifteen minutes, Stuart walked out of the meeting room.
Before Edie greeted, Stuart stared at Bette, "Bette, what do you want?"
Bette didnāt get angry, "Edie cooks today. It looks quite delicious. Come on."
Edie cooks... How did she learn it? He thought in silence.
Stuart didnāt know Edie could cook.
He threw an eye on Edie. Edieās eyes were full of expectation. Stuartās heart started trembling.
He hesitated for a while and decided to sit down.
