Chapter 688: Do You Know About That?

Stuart looked so charming. When he focused on the ingredients, the sunlight covered his body, making him look mature and energetic. Edie knew he attracted lots of girls before.

Looking at his clear eye and cute face, Edie almost forgot to look away.

After the lunch, Stuart kissed Edie and then left. Edie stood at the door, watching him leave. She was still there for quite a long time even Stuart already disappeared from her sight.

Laty put a tubular in her mouth and walked to Edie, "Edie, he’s gone."

"I know," Edie said and looked towards Laty, rubbing her hair gently, "Do you like your dad?"

"I like everything you like. Though he didn’t treat me well, I can say that he loves you deeply. He was qualified enough to be your husband and my father." Laty said in an objective voice.

"Don’t quarrel with your dad again while having dinner with him. Remind him to eat more food. Don’t let me be too tired. Ask him to sleep and have dinner on time. Understand?"

"Mom...don’t you think you are the one that should do this? What is wrong with you today? You look so distracted."

Laty accurately captured Edie’s feelings. She frowned slightly and looked at her confusingly.

Laty smiled and rubbed her head again, "I am fine. I should go out today. How about sending you to your grandma? I would pick you up tonight. If I fail to pick you up tonight, your grandma will take you back home."

"Your work? I don’t remember you have work to do today."Laty said in a serious tone.

"The periodical office. They ask me to take some photos for them this afternoon. Pack up. I need to change my clothes."

Edie turned around and changed clothes in her bedroom. Laty didn’t see her taking her camera.

Edie told her that she went out to take photos. But why didn’t she take her camera with her?

But Laty didn’t tell Edie anything. She pretended to know nothing and arrived at her grandma’s house with Edie. When Edie left, she immediately called Stuart.

Edie was on tenterhooks all her way to Leon’s house. When she parked in front of the mansion, she immediately felt the smell of honor and dignity. Those soldiers were all armed, standing in front of the door, frightening people away.

Edie saw there were more soldiers here. Norman must take his troops back.

Edie told them her name directly. Soon, she was allowed in.

When she stepped into the house, she immediately had a bad feeling. All maids were lowering their heads. They didn’t even dare to take a breath. The air around her seemed frozen.

A man was sitting on the sofa. It was Norman. After five years, his skin got darker because of the training in troops. But he still looked like an eagle, sharp and maniac.

Arther stood in front of him straightly, raising his head, staring at Norman’s eyes.

The teacup was broken into lots of pieces on the ground, scattering all around. Apparently, they have quarrels just now.

When Edie stepped in, both men looked towards her at the same time.

When seeing Edie, Norman made a ridiculing smile, "Mrs. Yates, what have I done to you? Have I hurt you before? Why do you do this to me?"

Hearing these questions, Edie didn’t know how to answer.

Five years ago, instead of killing her, Norman helped her leave Stuart. Without the help of Leon’s, she couldn’t take good care of Laty and seek after her career.

Leon’s indeed helped her a lot.

It was Norman that gave her everything she wanted. But she never did anything for Norman.

As she hesitated to answer, Arther explained to her directly.

"This is an accident. It is my fault. I thought Stuart had left A, so I told Edie this. But I made a mistake. Stuart hasn’t left A that day. You shouldn’t blame Edie. It is my responsibility. I should take responsibility."

"Of course you should take responsibility. When you know they date again, you didn’t do anything. You do nothing, nothing !"

Norman passed on the tea table suddenly. The sound shocked everyone in the castle. Then Norman stood up abruptly and walked to Edie like a soldier. But Arther stopped him.

But Arther was only thirteen years old. He was too weak to stop Norman. Norman pushed him away. Seeing Arther falling on the ground, Edie wanted to help him to stand up. But Norman buckled her wrist immediately.

He yelled out at her, "Are you playing me?"

"No. I never know this thing would end like this. I know I owe you a lot. You can kill me today; I would never blame you a word."

Edie stood the pain on her hand and stood straight in front of Norman. She raised her cloudy eyes, fixing her eyes on him as if she was never frightened by such an annoying, horrible man.

Hearing this, Norman squinted and yelled out, "Give me my gun."

"Yes, sir."

Soon, the gun was in Norman’s hand.

It was a p200 gun, delicate and precise as a Swiss watch. Everyone knew it was high-quality. It was a gun designed for Norman. No one knew how many people were killed by this gun.

Seeing this, Arther frowned. He wanted to stop him, but Edie stopped him.

"Take Arther away."

Norman placed an order. Those armed soldiers immediately showed up, catching Arther in seconds.

Arther shouted out angrily, "Norman, what the hell are you doing now? Do you forget I am the family head? I now order you to stop, right now."

Norman squinted slightly. He didn’t even throw an eye on Arther. Then he raised his arm slightly, targeting Edie’s heart.

Then, he said in a cold voice, "Even if you are the family head, you might also make mistakes. I am here to avoid you making any mistakes. But you have made mistakes, of course, I need to handle all troubles caused."

Arther kept struggling. But he was so weak that he couldn’t get rid of those strong-armed soldiers. Finally, he was taken away.

"Edie, leave, right now."

Edie threw an eye on Arther. She really appreciated Arther. But she didn’t listen to him. She straightened her thin body.

"I already knew what I would be confronted with today. Based on my experience and my knowledge about you, I bet I would die here today."

"Quite clever. You broke your word. You should pay for what you have done."

"I agree to pay for this. But promise me not to hurt Stuart. L.N doesn’t threaten your family now," Edie begged.

"Doesn’t threat?"

When hearing Edie’s words, Norman burst into laughter and asked in a cold voice, "Do you have any idea what he’s done these days?"

Edie got confused completely when hearing Normans’ question.

"Inside the group, the board of directors, is more powerful that the Yates. The board of directors could even control the Yates. But now, Stuart starts to weaken the board.
