Chapter 1439: Chapter 1439: A Guest Has Arrived
The car slowly drove into Lowen Clubhouse, and Caleb Mamet reminded her again, "Donāt untie the bandage yet, it still has its uses."
Xaviera Evans was somewhat curious, "Youāve said it twice already, what are we going to do?"
"Youāll understand soon." Caleb lightly tapped her forehead, smiling mysteriously.
Lowen Clubhouse was located at the junction between the suburbs and the city. It was a famous wealthy area in Libanan with few outsiders visiting, making it very quiet. A circle of gardens was built around the villa, and once they entered the villaās front door, an extravagant fountain greeted their eyes.
Upon entering, Xaviera couldnāt help but exclaim, "No wonder heās the richest man in Libanan! This villa is so luxurious!"
Caleb glanced at her and chuckled softly, "Youāve lived here for a year and just realized? If you think itās too extravagant, we can change it according to your ideas."
"No need for that. Is there a guest coming today, so you specifically asked me to pretend to be miserable?" Xaviera thought carefully, assuming someone might have come to Lowen Clubhouse.
Caleb pinched her cheek, "You guessed right, Mr. Powell has come again, and he brought... his son and adopted daughter."
The look in Xavieraās eyes suddenly turned cold, "Jacob Powell is here!"
She knew that one day Jacob Powell would visit, as Robert Powell hadnāt achieved his goal and would surely send his son as a spokesperson. But she didnāt expect Quinn Powell to come too.
Wasnāt Quinn seriously ill? Why did she come all the way to Libanan, did she not want to live?
Xaviera pondered for a moment and concluded with certainty, "Quinn is seriously ill, and Iāve appeared again, so Jacob Powell must want to use me to save her again."
"So Iāll go and see what this foolish father and cunning brother of mine really want!"
Inside the living room of Lowen Clubhouse.
Sam brought two pots of hot coffee and some pastries, with Quinn weakly leaning against Jacob Powell. Robert was anxiously looking outside, "Itās been so long, Xaviera hasnāt come back yet!"
Jacob had already heard about Fiona Reiserās incident, but he couldnāt check his phone on the plane. After he got off the plane, he hurriedly came to Lowen Clubhouse, so he didnāt know what happened at the venue.
At this moment, he wondered if Xaviera lied again, stole Fionaās title, and was too embarrassed to see them after being exposed in public.
They waited for so long but still didnāt see her, and Jacob got impatient. Xaviera and Quinn were both his sisters, but their personalities were completely different. Quinn was sensible and empathetic, but still acting strong and waiting with them for Xaviera despite her poor health.
This was unfair for Quinn; she was originally the Powell familyās daughter, but now she had to accompany her father and brother to pick up another lady. Her position was about to be replaced, and she had to wait with her frail body, while Xaviera knew they were here but deliberately kept them waiting.
Comparing the two, the difference was significant.
"Cough, cough..." Suddenly, Quinn covered her mouth and coughed painfully twice.
Robert and Jacobās faces changed instantly, looking at her anxiously.
"Quinn! Are you okay? Where do you feel uncomfortable? Do you want to call a doctor?" Jacob was frantic, seemingly about to rush out with Quinn in his arms.
Quinn leaned on Jacobās shoulder, weakly speaking, "Brother... Iām fine. We still have to wait for my sister! I... I can hold on."
Her words made Jacob feel even more distressed, so he frowned and asked Sam, "Call Xaviera quickly and tell her to come back. Weāve been waiting for a long time!"
Sam was also unhappy, but as the Evansā guest, he could only answer in his capacity as their housekeeper, "Mr. Powell, our lady went to a cultural relics restoration event this morning, and itās not convenient to disturb her. However, I have informed our president, and they are on their way back. Please be patient."
"Quinn canāt hold on much longer." Jacob looked helpless.
"Brother, itās alright." Quinnās face was as pale as paper, but she still managed to smile, "We came here to pick up my sister. Everything should prioritize her. Cough, cough... If my sister comes back and sees us gone, sheāll be unhappy, and Iāll feel guilty."
With guilt in their eyes, Robert and Jacob looked at her. While Robertās gaze lasted only a moment, as his biological daughter would always be more important in his heart, Jacobās feelings were more complicated. He already had such a well-behaved sister like Quinn, and even if Xaviera was better, she could never replace Quinnās place in his heart.
