Ye Tian was stunned. "Ye Shixue, have you no shame? How can you say something like that? What exactly are you trying to do? Don't tell me you want to get back together with me?"
"Brother Tian, why won't you believe me? Everything I've done has been for you. Being with Ye Feng was to help you get the Spirit Charm Pill, and being with Ye Hu was to get the Celestial Melody Pill."
"Why did I endure all that humiliation? And now you despise me. But I can tell you this very clearly: my body is yours to touch, and no one else is worthy!" Ye Shixue said, her voice choked with emotion.
Ye Tian was at a loss for words. If what Ye Shixue said was true, he genuinely didn't know what to do. But if she was deceiving him again, he couldn't bear to be hurt like that again.
'I need to stay calm. She probably just sees that I'm powerful now and have the Patriarch's favor, so she wants me back. A woman that fickle isn't worth clinging to.'
Outside the window, Ye Feifei was grinding her teeth in frustration. She had seen shameless women before, but never one as shameless as Ye Shixue. Claiming she was still a virgin... a man might not know, but as a woman, she could tell with a single glance.
Ye Feifei desperately wanted to charge in and expose Ye Shixue's lies, but she was afraid Ye Tian would get the wrong idea and think she was eavesdropping. For a moment, she was torn.
At that moment, Ye Tian glanced at Ye Shixue and said, "Sister Xue, let the past be the past. The competition is tomorrow; you should head back. It's not good for your reputation for us to be alone together like this!"
"I was always your woman, so what does it matter? I'd even be willing to spend the night. Brother Tian, can I stay and keep you company tonight?" Ye Shixue said, looking at Ye Tian with deep affection.
Upon hearing this, Ye Tian felt a tic of exasperation on his forehead. 'How could she say something like that? What has she become?'
Seeing the expression on Ye Tian's face, Ye Shixue laughed coyly. "Haha, I was just teasing you. With the clan competition tomorrow, I just wanted to see you and blow off some steam. How about it, Brother Tian? Have a drink with me? It's been so long since we drank together."
'I can't tell if she's telling the truth or not,' Ye Tian thought. 'As long as she doesn't try to stay here, it'll be fine. I'll just have a drink and then send her on her way.'
"I don't think I have any wine here. You must have brought some, right?" Ye Tian said.
With a slight wave of her small, fair hand, a green wine pot appeared in Ye Shixue's grasp. "I prepared this especially for you. Brother Tian, let me fill your cup!"
Soon, Ye Shixue had filled the two cups on the table. "Brother Tian, thank you for taking care of me all these years. No matter how I may have changed, my heart for you will never change. Much of what you've seen is just the surface. You'll understand in the future!"
After speaking, Ye Shixue raised her cup and drained it in one go. Her words, however, left Ye Tian frozen. He really didn't know how he was supposed to drink this.
'Could I really take her back? I just can't do it. I don't know whether to believe her or not.' A wave of frustration washed over him.
"Brother Tian, why aren't you drinking? Are you still mad at me?" Ye Shixue asked, looking at Ye Tian.
Ye Tian glanced at the cup on the table, took a deep breath, picked it up, and drank it all in one gulp. Just as he did, Ye Shixue watched him drink, and a wicked smile flickered across her lips.
The smile was so fleeting that Ye Tian didn't notice, but Ye Feifei, outside the window, saw it clearly. A sense of foreboding immediately washed over her. 'Don't tell me there's poison in the wine? Or... is it an aphrodisiac?'
Ye Feifei was in turmoil. 'Should I go in or not? If it's poison, Brother Tian is in danger. But if it's an aphrodisiac... if I go in, I'll just scare Ye Shixue off, and then I'll be the one left to... stay with him.'
"Brother Tian, how about another cup? Sister Xue wishes you a triumphant victory tomorrow and hopes you secure a spot in the top three!" Ye Shixue said.
"That's enough, Sister Xue! I appreciate the sentiment. We've had a drink, we've talked, and it's getting really late! It's really not appropriate for you to be here!" Ye Tian said.
This time, Ye Shixue didn't get angry. Instead, she smiled and said, "Alright then! I'll do as you say, Brother Tian! I'll be going now. Don't forget to miss me!"
The moment she finished speaking, she snatched up the wine pot, opened the door, and left without a backward glance. As she left, she didn't spot Ye Feifei outside the window, who had ducked out of sight in an instant.
After Ye Shixue left, Ye Feifei didn't go to Ye Tian. She knew this wasn't the right time to show herself. Ye Shixue's behavior was too strange; something was definitely up, so she decided to follow her.
Ye Shixue walked quickly, but Ye Feifei stayed close on her heels. Before long, Ye Shixue stopped in front of Ye Hu's room.
'I knew it. She was spouting all that nonsense to Ye Tian just a minute ago, and now she's running to Ye Hu. What a total bitch!' Ye Feifei cursed inwardly.
"Brother Hu! I'm back!" Ye Shixue said softly from outside the door.
The door opened quickly, and Ye Hu appeared before Ye Shixue. "Baby! How did it go? Did he drink it?"
"I handled it myself. Of course it worked. Just wait for the show tomorrow!" Ye Shixue laughed.
"HAHAHA! Well done! Well done! Tonight, I'm going to ravish you! I didn't get enough last night!" Ye Hu laughed, then swept Ye Shixue into his arms and carried her inside.
SLAM! The door shut. Ye Feifei could only leave. She had neither the time nor the desire to watch their private, not-safe-for-work performance.
Her main worry now was what Ye Shixue had given Ye Tian to drink. Her gut told her it had to be some kind of poison, or a drug that would sap his strength.
Then it hit her. She suddenly remembered a drug called Ten Fragrances Soft Tendon Powder. This drug was colorless and odorless, making it practically undetectable when mixed with wine.
The symptoms only appeared the next day, leaving the victim's entire body weak and limp, as if their bones had turned to jelly. But it wasn't fatal. The clan competition was tomorrow. It was obvious Ye Hu was afraid Ye Tian would surpass him in the rankings, so he had Ye Shixue drug him.
"What a despicable bastard! No, I have to tell Dad about this!" Ye Feifei said. Her figure then flickered, leaving an afterimage in her wake as she sped towards Ye Weitian's room.
Meanwhile, Ye Tian was completely unaware that he had been poisoned by Ye Shixue. He was still pondering why she was acting so strangely, and how he should face her—and Ye Feifei—in the future.
After mulling it over for a long while without reaching any conclusion, he decided to drop it. He looked down at his finger and chuckled. "Might as well take a look at my Storage Ring! There ought to be something I need in here!"
