At that moment, Song Qingshu seemed to sense something and opened his eyes. Seeing the bride beside the bed, he couldnât help but feel overjoyed, exclaiming, âRouâer, come and drink the wedding wine with your husband.â
Jiao Wanâer was so frightened that she quickly hid the dagger back into her sleeve. Seeing that he hadnât noticed anything unusual, her eyes darted, and she came up with a plan. She picked up the wine jug from the table and started pouring it into Song Qingshuâs mouth, secretly fuming,
âDrink, go ahead, drink as much as you want!â
âCough, cough, cough, thatâs enough, enough!â Song Qingshu coughed and reached out to push the jug away.
Although he was drunk, their difference in strength was like night and day, so even in his drunken state, he easily pushed Jiao Wanâerâs hand aside.
âI remember the wedding wine isnât drunk like this, is it?â Song Qingshu suddenly sat up with a confused look on his face.
For a brief moment, the aura Song Qingshu exuded reminded Jiao Wanâer of the fear and helplessness she had felt when he dominated her that night. She was worried that this might snap him out of his drunken state, but to her relief, he still appeared just as foolish.
Itâs best if he gets even more drunk, Jiao Wanâer thought, a sly smile forming at the corners of her mouth. âThe rules in our Golden Serpent Camp are different from other places. We drink straight from the jug,â she said.
âReally?â Song Qingshu was dumbfounded, clearly confused by this strange rule. âWell, bring the jug over. Letâs continue drinking.â
Feeling triumphant, Jiao Wanâer thought to herself,
âDrink, drink, drink until youâre dead!â
Then she hurriedly handed him the wine jug.
However, after just one sip, Song Qingshu stopped. âWeâre supposed to drink the wedding wine together. How can I drink alone? Rouâer, come, letâs drink together.â
With a wave of his hand, Jiao Wanâer suddenly felt a powerful force pull her into his arms.
As Jiao Wanâer opened her mouth to speak, the spout of the wine jug was shoved into it, and a burning stream of strong liquor poured down her throat.
âYou take a sip, I take a sipâthatâs how weâre supposed to drink wedding wine,â Song Qingshu said with satisfaction, finally releasing her.
âCough, cough, cough!â
Jiao Wanâer struggled to sit up. Although she was the leader of a group, she had always been a poor drinker. In that brief moment, she had already swallowed half a jug.
With a flush rising in her cheeks, Jiao Wanâer felt her head spinning and realized she was slightly tipsy. She shot a suspicious glance at Song Qingshu, unsure if this scoundrel was truly drunk or merely pretending.
After a moment of thought, Jiao Wanâer devised another plan, speaking in a deliberately coy tone, âBrother Song, earlier you mentioned doing something to wrong Madam Luo⊠how serious was it?â
Even calling that demon by such a name made Jiao Wanâerâs skin crawl with goosebumps, but she didnât want to miss the opportunity to gather some information. It would be a waste to simply leave after being mistaken for Zeng Rou, so she pressed on.
âHmm, why does your voice sound different, Rouâer?â Song Qingshu glanced at her, puzzled.
Panicking, Jiao Wanâer quickly acted coquettish, âBrother, youâre drunk. My voice hasnât changed at all.â
The sweet, cloying tone that emerged from her mouth was so foreign that even Jiao Wanâer found it hard to believe she had said it. She was immediately filled with disgust.
âLooks like I really am drunk, even hearing your voice wrong,â Song Qingshu said, rubbing his forehead lightly, âBut Rouâer, you still call me brother even now?â
Jiao Wanâer realized her slip and blushed fiercely, but she had no choice but to continue the act to get the information she wanted. âHusbandâŠâ she whispered.
Though the word came out as faint as a mosquitoâs buzz, it made Jiao Wanâer so embarrassed she could hardly stand it. Calling another man âhusbandââshe felt utterly shameless.
âBut itâs just to fool him. He wonât know itâs me,â
Jiao Wanâer comforted herself.
However, the moment the word âhusbandâ left her lips, she unconsciously looked at Song Qingshu with something more than mere hatredâthere was now a hint of something indescribable in her gaze.
âGood girl!â Song Qingshu nodded approvingly, leaning in as if to kiss her.
Prepared for this, Jiao Wanâer braced herself, gently pushing him away. âHusband⊠you still havenât answered my question,â she said.
âWhat question?â Song Qingshu asked, looking utterly bewildered.
Seeing his blank expression, Jiao Wanâer was so furious she almost drew her dagger and stabbed him. She took a deep breath to calm herself and repeated, âYou mentioned earlier that you did something to wrong Madam Luo. Was it serious?â
Jiao Wanâer already knew how serious it was. Her question was merely to lower his guard, fearing he wouldnât tell the truth if he thought she was Zeng Rou.
âOh, I remember now,â Song Qingshuâs expression darkened, and after a long silence, he sighed. âOf course it was serious. Lady Luo will probably never forgive me.â
âAt least you know that much!â
Jiao Wanâer bit her lip so hard that blood began to seep out. âI wonder⊠what exactly did you do to Sister Wanâer?â she asked, her voice trembling.
Song Qingshu opened his mouth but hesitated for a long time without uttering a word. Finally, he sighed deeply. âIt concerns Lady Luoâs reputation. I really canât say.â
Jiao Wanâer was unexpectedly relieved. If he couldnât even speak of it to his own wife, then based on Xia Qingqingâs behavior earlier, it seemed she didnât know either. At least he had some sense of propriety.
In a small stroke of luck, it appeared only the two of them knew about this incident.
After a brief pause, Jiao Wanâer asked the question that weighed most heavily on her mind. âSo⊠will you ever do such a thing to Sister Wanâer again?â
âThisâŠâ Song Qingshu fell into deep thought, making Jiao Wanâerâs heart race with anxiety. âI donât know.â
âWhat?!â Jiao Wanâer was immediately furious. She had thought he was genuinely repentant and had even considered letting the matter go if he promised to leave her alone in the future. But now, this answer shattered that hope.
âI know itâs wrong, but thereâs something about Lady Luoâs gentle and elegant demeanor that I just canât resist. Iâm afraid I wonât be able to control myself and might seek her out againâŠâ
Hearing Song Qingshu praise her to her face left Jiao Wanâer with a strange feeling. For a moment, she forgot to be angry, and the two of them simply sat there in awkward silence.
âEnough of this. Tonight is our special night; letâs not talk about other women. A moment of spring is worth a thousand gold. Rouâer, let us begin.â Song Qingshu suddenly said, breaking the silence.
âHuh?â Jiao Wanâer was taken aback. She had been pouring him so much wine, hoping that he would soon pass out from intoxication. But now, he showed no sign of sleeping, leaving her unsure of how to escape.
While Jiao Wanâer hesitated, Song Qingshu reached out and pulled her into his arms. With a swift motion, he p!nned her beneath him on the bed, his breath reeking of alcohol as it wafted across her face. âRouâer, donât be afraid. Iâll take good care of you,â he murmured.
âNo!â Jiao Wanâerâs eyes widened in panic, but before she could react, her soft l!ps were sealed by Song Qingshuâs, leaving her only able to make muffled sounds.
Pinned beneath him, Jiao Wanâer could feel the overwhelming masculine energy radiating from him. The powerful pressure of his body made her feel utterly helpless. In her mind, she suddenly experienced a surge of submission, driven by the innate vulnerability of being a w0man.
Suddenly, she felt a chill on her ch*est. Jiao Wanâer snapped back to reality and realized that at some point, Song Qingshu had undone her cl0thing. Terrified, she struggled with all her might.
But her strength was insignificant in the face of Song Qingshuâs power, and her resistance only seemed to stir the beast within him.
