Chapter 193: Epic Ranked Beast

It was already late at night. There wasn’t much time left before morning.

Sunny said, "Bro, let’s rest. I can’t move anymore."

Ethan also nodded. Then he looked at the ranking. The third person was at 378 points.

He was far behind them.

Ethan thought for a moment and then said, "Okay, let’s rest first."

Ethan used a barrier magic to keep them safe while they would be resting. It was a forest after all.

Just when he was about to close his eyes, a loud roar came from the distance.

He stood up instantly. The roar was too powerful.

And it came from outside his detection spell.

So the roar was still this loud even though it was far away.

Outside the forest, Lucas opened his eyes. He was meditating.

"An epic beast? What is it doing here?"

He shouted, "The competition is over. Call back everyone."

It was a humongous ape, 50 meters tall, running toward the students at bottleneck speed.

An epic-ranked knight could not fight an epic-ranked beast. Though maguses had some advantage, epic-ranked beasts could use spells too. So they were a combination of knights and maguses.

Normally 3–4 epic-ranked knights and maguses were needed to defeat an epic beast.

Lucas vanished. He didn’t have time. The students wouldn’t be able to make it out alive if he delayed any longer. He needed to do something.

"Damn it!" Lucas roared in frustration.

An epic-ranked person or beast was similar to a Galactic Realm powerhouse.

So it was a vast power. The ape could destroy half of the continent alone if it were given some time.

Lucas roared, "Beast, stop where you are. You are invading the business of the Holy Britannian Empire."

The ape didn’t even look at him, as if it was possessed by something.

"Shit!"

Lucas immediately created a grand barrier to hold the ape until those candidates could return to safety. He had already sent a message to the academy.

Someone would arrive in a few seconds, but those few seconds could be fatal.

Other administrators started rescuing candidates.

Sunny looked at Ethan, "Bro, let’s go. That is a super strong beast."

Ethan had that same mad look on his face.

"Sunny, you go back. I want to watch the battle. There is no way I’ll let such a chance go."

Sunny’s eyes widened. He could also see madness in Ethan’s eyes.

"What are you talking about, bro? Teacher Lucas clearly said we need to leave," Sunny said.

Ethan shook his head, "Don’t worry. You can leave."

Sunny shook his head, "If you are staying, then I will stay too."

Ethan became a little surprised. His relation with Sunny wasn’t that deep. They had only met and shared some food while hunting monsters. All of it happened in 24 hours, but what he didn’t know was that those 24 hours were the best 24 hours Sunny had ever spent with a friend.

He was born into the most prestigious family in the human race, so the expectations were sky-high.

He wasn’t allowed to meet with others until he was six. And the little children of his family would make fun of him because of his physique.

Though Ethan also called him fatty, there wasn’t any mockery in his eyes. He was straightforward and also shared his delicious food with him.

Sunny already thought of Ethan as one of his closest relatives.

Ethan said, "Okay, if anything happens, just hide behind me. Don’t try to be a hero or something."

Sunny said, "But I am a hero. My mother says that."

Ethan didn’t know if he should laugh or cry.

"Okay, for today, you are not a hero. We will just watch the battle from afar."

Sunny nodded his head.

The administrators were taking out whoever they could find first. They knew someone from the dean’s family was also among the candidates, as well as the fated one who had comprehended the supreme tier spell.

They were especially looking for the duo, but they couldn’t find them. Something had jammed the area.

So they had to find everyone one by one. It was an arduous job.

The ape punched at the barrier.

Instantly, a violent tremor shook the entire forest.

Plants were blown away. The land cracked open.

Even the barrier cracked.

Suddenly, dark lightning started cracking across the ape’s body. It was a lightning elemental beast. Moreover, the element was a mutated one.

Black lightning.

"Not good!"

Lucas became agitated. He could clearly feel the power inside that lightning.

The ape’s hand vanished. It was super fast.

The Magus World was a super powerful world. So it had super suppression on rankings too. Galactic Realm powerhouses weren’t many in this world.

So the ape was strong, but it had never surpassed the speed of light before.

But this lightning element enabled it to move much faster.

The barrier broke like glass.

Lucas didn’t have enough time to cast another barrier, and the ape punched at him.

Lucas looked at the man and said, "Rowan, what are you doing here?"

Rowan was an instructor in the Supreme Knight Academy.

Rowan said, "Don’t get too emotional. It was that damn witch who sent me here forcefully."

Lucas understood who he was talking about.

Now two epic-ranked humans against one epic-ranked beast.

It would be a legendary battle.
