Chapter 346: Cocoon Cracking
Lilithâs figure emerged from the cracked cocoon, and she seemed slightly different.
Her hair was longer, and the pressure she was giving off from her gaze alone was enough to send shivers down his spine.
And all of that while she wasnât even looking at him directly.
She definitely got much stronger than I did⊠butâŠ
âLilith, The Demon Queen of Calamity [Level 4124] â Vitality: Tier 13 [100% / 100% HP]
She went from Tier 6 vitality all the way to Tier 13,
Rael thought.
That should be around⊠1 to 10 sextillion HP? FuckâŠ
But that was when her eyes slightly trembled, and in the next moment, she turned toward him, her gaze regaining clarity by the second.
Yet with that very same clarity came a flood of tears. She sniffled, crying her heart out silently.
âI see it worked out,â Rael remarked with a faint smile.
But before he knew it, Lilith had already appeared in front of him and wrapped her hands around him in an embrace.
He was slightly surprised, but given her emotional state, Rael decided to hug her back and gently pat her head.
Just like that, the two stood there for what felt like hours, with only Lilithâs sobbing and the frantic beat of her heart echoing in the silence.
Alas, his shirt was soaked from her tears, so he had no choice but to pull her back.
That was when he saw his own reflection in her straight, majestic black horn.
It looked identical to hers, but just on the right side, whereas hers was on the left.
Rael let out a sigh and patted her head once more.
âFeeling better?â
âMhm. Thank youâŠâ Lilith wiped the snot off her face. âI donât know how I can repay you for something like this⊠where do I even start? Do you want me to conquer this continent and give it to you? Maybe this entire world?â
âThat might be a bit overkill, at least for now,â Rael replied with a chuckle. âFirst, focus on stabilizing your bloodline. Learn to control it. All of that boring stuff.â
He raised a single finger. âAnd no, I donât need anything in return. This was your money, I was only responsible for mediating the purchase. Nothing more, nothing less.â
Lilith recognized the fact that he was trying to avoid it, so with one last sniffle, she nodded.
âGood. Also, whatâs with the consort stuff?â Rael asked.
Lilithâs brows twitched. âUm⊠Every Queen must have a Demon King. So since you were the closest person to me at that moment, I chose you.â
Although he was a bit suspicious, and the fact that his Primordial Sight told him she was lying wasnât the greatest of signs, he didnât care all that much. After all, it gave him more power.
âIs there more to the coronation ceremony, or is it over?â Rael asked.
âItâs over.â Lilith shook her head. âBut, because you proposed to me, we have to stay together for a bit. Itâs a tradition.â
Half lie?
âYou donât have to speak in riddles around me, Lilith. Be yourself,â Rael said plainly.
âFineâŠâ Lilith grumbled, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear as she met his gaze.
âIâve had enough crying, so Iâm bored.â
âAndâŠ?â
âAnd I want to go out and do something. Youâre planning to deal with the other countries, right? So why donât we work on our teamwork, partner?â Lilith suggested with a faint smile. âBeing the Queen of Darkness Demons is very boring because all these demons do is sleep and fight. Most of our budget goes into comfortable beds instead of anything else.â
Rael stared at her speechlessly, but having a powerful ally beside him while he was dealing with boring kingdom conquering didnât sound too bad.
But⊠tagging along because sheâs bored? Yeah⊠thatâs where the lie stemmed.
âSure, you can come along,â Rael replied, turning around. âBut donât interfere in my talks with any of the countries, and donât use your powers. I donât want you to overexert yourself so soon.â
He took a step closer. âAnd letâs hide our horns. I donât want people getting scared of us because weâre demons.â
She agreed and they tapped their horns in unison, causing the horns to retract into their foreheads, not leaving behind even a single mark.
And like that, Rael stretched his limbs slightly and glanced southeast.
âPick a number from one to three,â Rael said.
Lilith tilted her head. âTwo?â
âNot two.â
ââŠâ Lilith rolled her eyes. âOne?â
âNope.â
A moment of silence ensued, followed by Lilith facepalming.
âThreeâŠ?â
âBingo.â Rael swiftly turned around with a wide smirk. âWeâre going straight to Ogarak.â
Lilithâs stared at him in disbelief for a moment. âYouâre really thinking of occupying that place? I think itâs a bad ideaâŠâ
Rael tilted his head. âWhy? More land is better than no land.â
âMmm⊠those people kill each other every day, andâŠâ Lilith trailed off, scratching her cheek. âI donât think theyâll be able to provide you with any money. They donât have commerce, and they donât sell the items they get from dungeons. All they do is hog everything and⊠you know, reproduce.â
She sighed. âEven the Darkness Demons donât reproduce as much as the barbarians, and we have some of the finest succubi wringing men dry. We even have a woman who has a Sin-type skill, so sheâsââ
âHmm? She has a what?â Rael caught onto that, cutting her off. âA Sin-type skill⊠You mean like Gluttony, Sloth, Greed? Those?â
âOh? You know about them? Yes⊠We have Lilian. She has the Sin of Lust skill. Itâs really strong, even I canât resist her charms. Thatâs why I avoid her,â Lilith said, slightly embarrassed. âBut despite that, she earns a lot of money for me, so I make sure sheâs taken care of⊠from a distance.â
She turned toward him with a cheeky smile. âWhy? Are you interested?â
Rael shook his head calmly. âNope, just curious.â
Still⊠if I were to steal that skill, and then a few other Sin-type skills, would I be able to combine them?
It was an interesting idea, though he didnât necessarily need to steal those skills as he could always just buy them from the Premium Shop.
Nevertheless, he noted Lilianâs existence and got back on track.
After all, he first wanted to pay a visit to Nyzzara.
