"Who is in the car and why are we following them?" Lu Zhen finally asked.
When Leng Pan asked him to follow the car, he did so without asking questions because he knew that his wife wouldnât be doing meaningless things at the moment.
"Thatâs Bai Yinyinâs car. I want to know what she is up to. She should be going to the airport in an hour to pick me up. So instead of heading to the airport, where is she going at this time?" Leng Pan replied.
In fact, she was puzzled because she knew that Bai Yinyin is a calculative person. She must have tried other ways to find out where her bangle was in the last few days but failed.
So, what was she up to now?
"Okay, letâs follow her and find out." Lu Zhen had no objections to his wifeâs request.
The black car moved to an area with numerous warehouses and drove to the end where one warehouse was a little secluded without many people moving around it.
Lu Zhen stopped his car further from it and the two sat there and waited.
Bai Yinyin got out of her car and looked around like a thief as if expecting someone to spring out of thin air and find out what she was doing.
By this time, Leng Pan had already figured out what was going on.
"This should be the place Bai Yinyin kept her supplies waiting to get the bangle from me and come collect them." She said.
"Itâs possible. What do you want to do?" Lu Zhen agreed with his wifeâs analysis.
He wanted to know what she was going to do about it so that he could help.
"Wait for her to leave." Leng Pan said simply.
And they waited for fifteen minutes before Bai Yinyin came out of the warehouse again, got into her car and left.
Itâs funny that she didnât seem to have noticed that she was followed. She must have been too preoccupied to notice the car that had tailed her from the city center to this place.
Five minutes after she left, Lu Zhen drove their car to that same warehouse. They got out and looked around only to realize that Bai Yinyin had not installed any security cameras around the warehouse.
Or to be more precise, she seemed to have removed the existing ones. This was an advantage for them.
They didnât dally there anymore and immediately headed towards the door. It was locked, but that wasnât a problem as Lu Zhen went back to the car and took some tools.
Three minutes later, the door lock became useless. They entered the warehouse and found it packed to the brim.
They could see bags of rice, flour, sugar, dry cereals, boxes stacked together, and gallons of cooking oil.
There were other things that couldnât be determined as they were sealed in boxes but that didnât matter.
"Whatâs your plan?" Lu Zhen asked his wife as he surveyed the warehouse.
"Of course I am taking everything here. Letâs see what that woman does when she finds out that everything she worked hard to buy and collect was gone.
Letâs see how she will survive this apocalypse without my jade bangle space and my protection." Leng Pan replied with some spite.
Even though the remnants of the soul that occupied this body before was completely gone, she still had resentment over the actions of Bai Yinyin in the original book.
"Okay, take everything and letâs go home then." Lu Zhen said when he realized that his wifeâs mood had changed. He didnât want her to be consumed by hatred for someone who didnât matter anymore.
Leng Pan didnât need to be told twice as she started moving the supplies into the space and stacked them to the maximum height.
By the time everything was stored, the remaining space in the space warehouse was less than four hundred square meters.
But that was enough to store anything else they might scavenge in the future.
She wished that her space could expand like other spaces she had read about in novels. Herâs was the most pitiful space in the universe.
"Okay, letâs go." She said once she was done.
They walked out, closed the door, though it couldnât be locked, they didnât want their robbery to be too obvious.
They drove their car and left.
It was almost 4:30 PM when they reached the supermarket at the entrance of their community. They had decided to shop there as it was close to their house.
They went into the supermarket and bought all kinds of food stuff and water, filling up four of the biggest carts.
Everyone was looking at them as if they had gone crazy, but they didnât bother about the gossiping voices around them.
"You shopped like another auntie who came here with her son in the morning and bought a lot of stuff." The cashier who was helping them check out said.
The two looked at each other remembering what they had said to their mother before they left. She must have taken them very seriously and bought a lot.
While the cashier was checking out and another one packed the things they purchased for them, Lu Zhen went to get two more carts and filled them to the brim as well.
At the checkout he requested for the things in those two carts to be delivered to another community immediately and gave them Old Zhaoâs address.
"Donât worry, weâll send out a courier immediately after packing them." The cashier promised.
"Thatâs good, because he is waiting for them." Leng Pan added.
This would increase the sense of agency and make sure the supermarket didnât delay.
And it worked because their order was expedited and delivered in less than thirty minutes.
When the butler who served old Zhao opened the door and found so many supplies delivered to them he was shocked.
He had not ordered anything, so where did these things come from? Moreover, his master had first asked him to go back to his family, but he had refused and said that even if the master were to die, he would still stay with him.
