"This is getting interesting, first it was Sonia and her strange artifact, now this...at least life wouldnât be boring anymore" Victoria spoke as she sat back down.
"Youâre talking about war, donât you have something else more important than fighting, like taking care of your student?" Evelyn asked.
"Ohh Roman right, and on the topic, you didnât watch his fight with the summoner girl, Iâm sure you would have discovered something interesting"
"Something interesting from a fight between two students, I highly doubt that, did you see something interesting?" Evelyn asked.
"Iâm sure youâll see it with your own eyes at the duel tomorrow, all odds are stacked against him, do you think he would win?"
"He has no chance against Ava, and the princess, whom you donât think is powerful, would put him on the ground in an instant, his spells are still lacking, his mana capacity is lacking, the only thing I can sense from him is determination, a strange thing from a male"
"But I do get it, I think he has the capability to grow, if trained well, he could grow to be a force to reckon with, but as I said, heâs a male, even with all the determination do you think he can stand on the battlefield?" Evelyn asked as she stood up and looked at Victoria who had a large smile on her face.
Her hair covered half her face, but still, Evelyn was a little surprised by the smile.
"When you find out what I know, youâll beg to train him" Victoria simply spoke as a mage ran towards them.
âWhen I find out, Victoria keeps a lot of secrets, but this time itâs about the male, is that the reason she agreed to train him, I canât sense anything special about himâ
"The demon horde has been destroyed, we also received words from the mages in the frontline, they were also engaged in battle, but they also won, we think some of the forces that faced them peeled off and came towards the kingdom" The mage reported.
"Strengthen the lookouts on the wall, and cover all sections of the wall, weâll report back to the Queen" Evelyn spoke and the mage nodded before walking away.
"Victoria, Iâve been meaning to ask, where is your second in command, did you send her on a mission away?"
"Why do you care, I havenât seen yours in a while too"
"There she is, sheâs part of the mages fighting" Evelyn replied.
"Iâm going home to rest" Victoria spoke as she began walking away.
"I thought we were going to report back to the Queen?" Evelyn mouthed off as Victoria continued walking away.
"You report to her, tell her Iâm tired from the battle and went to rest, not that sheâll ask of me" Victoria spoke as she jumped down from the wall.
Evelyn watched Victoria leave, her brows slightly furrowed. "Still behaving like a child..." she muttered under her breath.
Just then, someone landed lightly behind her but she already knew who it was.
"My Lady" the figure spoke.
Evelyn turned and saw her second in command behind her. She had dust on her clothes and she was visibly sweating.
"It seems you outdid yourself" Evelyn spoke.
"The size of the demons scared everyone at the wall, I pulled out all stops but there was something wrong"
"Explain"
"The demons were weak... too weak. I know not all demons are powerful, but these were beyond weak, I saw you didnât bother to fight, did you notice it too?"
"Why wouldnât I, did you notice the demon generals?" Evelyn asked and her face turned blank.
She blinked twice trying to get what Evelyn said, "Haha...you must be joking, there wasnât a demon general among them"
"Not among them, but watching, four of them" Evelyn replied and her jaw dropped.
"Four demon generals came to Avalon, what for? Did Miss Victoria know, why havenât we prepared for battle?"
"They werenât here for a fight, but I think theyâre going to make a move soon, weâre going to the palace to report to the Queen" Evelyn spoke and her second bowed her head slightly.

Romanâs hawk came close to the palace and then he released the spell, he sighed as he looked into the room, the girls were all standing up now since Reina already told them that the battle was over.
Romanâs heart was still beating loudly in his chest, because he was still shocked from what had happened earlier, and he wasnât afraid, there was no way the enemy would get to him.
But what happened opened his mind to the possibilities, how can an enemy use his summon and track it back to him, he still had a lot to learn, and he needed to talk to Victoria.
"Roman, what made you jump up and scream just now?" Ava asked refusing to let go.
"Itâs nothing" Roman spoke as he walked towards the door and exited the room before any of the girls could question him.
There was no way he could get in touch with Victoria, she was the only one he could explain to without needing to explain how he knew.
Roman went back to the room he was staying in, the palace was locked so no one can leave, especially the students, so he couldnât leave.
âI should have used my summon to alert her, but it canât talk so how would I, and todayâs tournament is already over so Iâll have to wait till tomorrowâ
âDefeat the demon lord, a far-fetched dream, if demons were to attack now, I would join ordinary people and be protectedâ Roman mumbled as he opened the door to his room.
âMost of my spells have no application in a real battle, and I havenât even fought a real battle, the training with Victoria was the closest Iâve come, Iâm going to defeat the demon lord, who am I kiddingâ
Roman muttered as he laid down on his bed staring at the ceiling.
