âWhat is the most efficient way to train, thereâs probably no way for me to catch up, with the increase in demon activity, I donât think itâll be long before the demon lord attacks the kingdom himselfâ
âIf that happens, what would I do, the only reason I have gone this far in this tournament is because of the little tricks I pull that no one finds outâ
âTomorrow is going to be me against two opponents, Ava and Aurelia would come for me and then Iâll lose the fight, is this a good time to expose my secret?â Roman pondered to himself still staring at the ceiling.
Roman knew that if his secret were to come out, he would be unable to continue at the academy, and at the same time, he wouldnât be able to train more efficiently since he was different from others and would require specialized training.
At first, he wanted to keep his [Arcane Supremacy] a secret but now that he had seen what demons could do, it wasnât the best idea.
Even if he somehow wins the tournament and continues the academy, he still wouldnât be training efficiently since he would be doing so in secret.
âMaybe I should talk to Victoria first and see what she thinks?â
*KNOCK!!*
Roman immediately turned his attention towards the door and it was pushed open, Victoria stepped into his room and closed the door behind her.
"Hey...wait, whatâs wrong?" Victoria asked as soon as she came in.
"Thereâs nothing wrong, we ran in as soon as we heard there was an attack" Roman replied as he sat up.
"Your mana is shaken, I can sense it, your heart is also beating faster than normal, like youâre afraid, tell me what is wrong, Iâm serious?" Victoria spoke as she closed the distance between them.
âSo I really am afraid, I thought I was just shaken from the experience, why does it feel like I escaped death todayâ Roman mumbled to himself.
"When the attack came, I summoned my hawk so I could scout and see the battle, I was planning to see how you and Miss Evelyn fight, but before ,that my hawk was on the other side of the wall, this side" Roman pointed to the side of the wall.
"What did you see?" Victoria asked.
"A figure, I saw her face and she looked human but she wasnât, I think she touched the wall and left, I guess that she came for the barrier, but as she was leaving she suddenly turned towards my hawk, and the next moment I heard her speak, directly in my ears" Roman muttered.
Victoria closed her eyes placing her hand on her forehead as a frown formed on her face. Suddenly, the entire room felt heavy, just like the beginning of training, but only this time it was worse.
The next moment Roman fell to his knees and immediately used his hands to support himself.
"VICTORIA!!" Roman shouted and she opened her eyes, and the pressure stopped.
"Iâm sorry, I losty cool...I knew it was her, I knew it, my senses cannot make a mistake, she was the demon general we found years ago" Victoria spoke.
Roman could see it on her face, she was angry, he hadnât seen her get this angry ever, even though he hadnât known Victoria for long, there werenât a lot of things that could make her emotions flutter like this.
She usually keeps a straight face and the occasional smile in training, but this was different, it was like seeing a whole different side of her.
âI knew she wasnât normal, a demon general... thatâs the reason my heart was pounding, imagine meeting the demon lord, I wouldnât be able to moveâ
"What happened then, and what did she say?" Victoria asked.
"She was surprised a male was a mage, and then she left, I donât think their goal was to attack the kingdom, it was probably a distraction for her to get what she wanted, which is the barrier" Roman spoke.
"It wasnât just her, four demon generals came to the kingdom, but they didnât fight or show strength, they just stood far away from the walls, one of them came close but didnât lift a finger to attack" Victoria spoke and Romanâs eyes widened.
"Four demon generals, four...wait four of them came to Avalon, why? Just so one of them can check a barrier, Iâm sure they can break the barrier if they choose to attack, why?"
"Thatâs the question, Evelyn is coming to report to the Queen, I told her Iâm going home...I know youâre afraid but you have nothing to be worried about, youâre protected" Victoria spoke.
"Thatâs the reason Iâm afraid, why should I be protected, I want to fight, I want to stand my ground against a demon, I want to join the fight against the demon lord" Roman spoke.
Victoria couldnât believe, she knew Roman was a special exception but she had no idea he was this special, for a male not to care only about his well-being was almost unheard of, a male who wants to fight on the Frontline was something entirely different.
"Iâm planning to show my magical prowess tomorrow at the tournament, and after that I want you to train me, Iâm sure the academy is suitable for that, but it would take too long to attain the base strength I need" Roman continued.
"When you do that, you might think that way, youâll be given a free pass since youâre a magical genius, just like the founder of magic, but instead youâll just be a diamond among stones, youâll be even more protected, and under no reason would you be sent to any battlefield" Victoria replied.
"Still, Iâm going to do it, and after that I want you to train me" Roman said the line again.
"Attaining strength isnât something you can do overnight, you need years of practice to be good at a single thing, and in your case, youâll need to be the master of all magic types. Do you think you can do it?" Victoria asked.
