A smile formed on Romanâs face as the spell worked exactly how he wanted.
It might not be an instant kill spell, but it could stop even powerful demons in their track, that is, if he has enough mana to cast the spell.
"What is that spell?" Evelyn asked as she jumped to her feet. She didnât have a single scratch on her from the impact, given that she had protected her body before the attack.
If this type of attack takes her undetected, her entire face would have been covered by blood.
"Why did you learn a spell like that...what even is that, how does it work?" Victoria asked as both of them were now staring at him.
"So youâll take me seriously now," Roman replied.
"Where did you learn it? What kind of rune spell is that? I donât even recognize the runes," Evelyn spoke.
"Are you going to tell us or do you want me to take it out of you?" Victoria spoke.
"Itâs not a spell from this time. I learned the spell from the founder; itâs a gravity spell," Roman replied.
"A gra...vity spell, what is that, isnât that rune magic?" Evelyn asked as she had no idea what gravity was.
"Gravity...so itâs not rune magic, or does creating three runes make it something different? How did it feel?" Victoria asked Evelyn.
"It felt different, like the air was pushing down on me. I knew it wasnât air since I canât control it, just thatâs how it felt."
Roman wanted to laugh, but he couldnât guarantee his safety afterward, so he didnât. They had no idea what gravity was; he was sure even the founder had no idea what the spell was.
"Itâs rune magic, but instead of controlling an element, it controlled gravity, pushing you down to the ground," Roman spoke.
"It controlled gravity? What is gravity? Is that an element?"
"Gravity is whatâs keeping us on the ground," Roman replied.
Victoria and Evelyn exchange confusing looks, then turn back to Roman.
"If I throw a stone in the air, it comes back down because of gravity, which is why weâre glued to the ground," Roman clarified.
"The stone comes back down because itâs heavy; something light would float, and besides, I can fly, why isnât gravity bringing me back down?"
âWell, this world is already breaking the laws of physics, and Iâm not a professor, so Iâm not getting in that, Iâll just take the easy way out.â
"Well, thatâs because you can control wind; without wind magic, no one would be able to fly."
Victoria stared at the ceiling and back at Roman, "So you mean the world is pulling us down and keeping us here on the ground so we wonât float away?"
"Exactly, but normally you wonât notice, but this spell increases that force, causing it to be much stronger."
Evelynâs eyes widened, "Thatâs why it felt like something was crushing me and I couldnât control it, so it wasnât air, it was gravity."
"Yes, the stronger the force of the spell, the stronger the gravity around the target area, making moving and standing almost impossible."
"And if you continue?"
"The target gets crushed, though I have never held it that long, but Iâve crushed a wooden chair before," Roman replied.
"So you could crush a demon just with this spell alone, and not only that, you could hold a demon in place with this spell. How did you learn it? Did the founder teach it to you? What other spells do you know?"
"The founder didnât teach it to me. I saw him casting the spell and learning the runes. Also, I canât speak to the founder; I can only see glimpses of his memories, and I canât control when or where," Roman replied.
"You saw the spell and copied it, wait...so you can really cast any spell in the entire world, even Victoriaâs?" Evelyn asked.
"We tried, he canât," Victoria replied.
"I can...I just didnât want to at the time, besides, darkness spell circles are too complex, I wanted something easy I could work with," Roman replied.
Victoriaâs eyes widened the next moment as a large smile formed on her face, "Why didnât you tell me? I can finally teach someone my spells."
"Did anything else happen during the visions that made you think Sonia was telling the truth?" Evelyn asked as she sat down on the ground in front of Roman.
"During the last vision, I could see ten individuals gathered around planning to attack Vernhall. I think they are the souls in the artifacts," Roman replied.
"What made you think that?"
"The founder was telling them about a spell book he found that contained a spell that could help them win the war, but he didnât show or tell them anything about the book."
"A book containing spells, so the founder of magic only introduced magic to humans, not the entire world..." Evelyn muttered as she held her chin.
"So he used the spells in the book to seal the demon queen, but the consequences meant he had to seal his people too, so they became the artifacts," Evelyn spoke and turned back to Roman.
"That was also my conclusion," Roman added.
"But you have the founderâs memories right, so you could get the spells from the book; you just need to have a vision of when the founder was reading the book. I know you donât know how, but you should try."
"Also, the last vision I had, something strange happened, towards the end, it felt like the founder could see me even though I wasnât there."
"He could see you?" Evelyn spoke, and Roman nodded, then Evelyn turned to Victoria, who wasnât listening to their conversation at all.
"You know weâre discussing something important here?"
"Iâm still thinking about his spell, what if we can reverse it, instead of making the gravity stronger, you could make it weaker and be able to float or even fly," Victoria spoke
