Chapter 1193: Splitting Up
âWhat are you saying?â Bell snarled. It was obvious he didnât like this idea.
However, Sniper shouted, âShut up. Just follow me. I will take full responsibility!â
Nathan saw this as a chance. He changed his weapon back to Fenrir and gathered the most powerful bullet.
He fired the bullet. The most important target would be Sniper. After taking out the brain, he could fool these two and defeat them again.
However, it looked like Bloody Fiend realized the situation they were in. Despite his injuries, he leaped in the bulletâs way along with his familiars and struck the bullet.
â!!!â Nathan raised his eyebrows.
Bloody Fiend and two familiars got knocked down due to their previous injuries. The rest managed to withstand the impact of a bullet that destroyed a part of a mountain earlier.
âFiend!â Bell was frustrated. He definitely wanted to take Nathan down, but Sniper had sent one of his familiars to drag Bloody Fiend away.
Without wasting any time, Sniper dashed away from Nathan.
âYouâre not getting away!â Nathan grinned. As long as he was the hunter, he could be bolder. He knew that it was impossible to take them down, but killing one of them was definitely possible.
Even though he wanted to kill Nathan, with Bloody Fiendâs condition and the fact Sniper was leaving, he had no choice but to follow them. After all, he wasnât confident in killing Nathan alone.
No, he might be the one dying if he tried it.
Nathan wanted to chase after them, but he suddenly received a transmission. Nathan channeled his energy to hear the voice, which turned out to be Evelynâs voice.
âNathan. The two people who are chasing us suddenly back away. They are rushing in your direction. What are we going to do? Do you want us to stop them or teleport to you and ambush them?â
â!!!â Nathan widened his eyes in surprise.
Seeing Sniper and the others running away, Nathan knew they didnât have enough time. Nathan hadnât pulled them far enough to stop them from regrouping.
âDo they have a ring like this that allows them to communicate with each other?â Nathan frowned. He didnât know the situation and didnât want to risk it either.
If the enemies were going away, it would be fine as well.
They hadnât shown all of their trump cards. In fact, Nathan had shown them that he was strong enough to challenge them but not strong enough to crush them. This way, they would have the same thought as the Divine Hand when they first clashed with Nathan.
Nevertheless, if they were regrouping, it was better for Nathan not to chase after them.
âLooks like we have to figure out their plan first⊠They should have known that Iâm the more important target instead of Evelyn. If thatâs the caseâŠâ
Nathan muttered, âWe wonât regroup. Evelyn, you are to join hands with the grand duke and return to the village for now. I will be the bait. It will be better if they are chasing me.
âBecause you are harder to kill, they might not target you anymore even if you return to the village.â
âDo you understand what youâre saying right now?â Evelynâs voice sounded annoyed. âYouâre going to die!â
âDonât worry. If itâs running away, I should manage just fine. In fact, this is better. Since you are with the grand duke, use this time to gather as much information as possible.â
Evelyn gritted her teeth. âAre you insane? No, I donât approve of your reckless actions!â
âYou have no choice. This is the best decision. I will now move alone and head to the empire. I have to share the manuals with the rest of the group. Besides, I have to make the balls for the cloud-repelling device in the empire.
âYou should lie low for the time being and learn the manuals. You have to reach the Crystal Fusion Stage by the time we meet again.â
âCome back right now, Nathan. Or Iâm going to grind you.â Evelyn was frustrated. Despite knowing it was the best plan, she didnât want to allow him to risk his life.
Nathan smiled. âIn that case, I will let you grind me once Iâm back. Donât worry. I will keep talking in the communication ring unless I find a suspicion that someone is listening to our conversation.â
Nathan also considered this possibility. The Death Society might have brought back the same communication ring, which was something he hadnât considered before.
So, if they knew about this plan, he wanted to see their reaction to see whether he needed to seal the communication ring or not.
ââŠâ Evelyn couldnât refute his words. However, it was simply too frustrating.
Before they arrived on this continent, they had split their group into four. Originally, she didnât know what they were doing as Nathan jokingly planned a date, which turned out to be the most important plan among the four teams.
She had done her part as Nathanâs partner, but she hadnât helped much. In fact, without Nathan, they might not be able to acquire such manuals.
Evelyn thought they could just go on a journey a bit longer after getting some information. Yet, they were attacked by the Death Society all of a sudden.
The Death Society was supposed to be isolated with no way of escaping or recruiting people. However, the Death Society suddenly made its appearance here. No one knew the reason.
That was why Evelyn understood why Nathan wanted to split up. They had to gather as much information as possible, even if it meant making themselves bait.
Evelyn was frustrated because this was the best plan⊠She wished there was a better plan that didnât have to endanger Nathan. It would have been better if the enemy had targeted her instead.
Even though Nathan had said they could contact him any time, Nathan could always lie about his condition so they didnât have to worry.
Johnson saw Evelyn hit a tree so hard that she shattered the trunk into pieces. Evelyn muttered, âWhy? I should have been the bait. Heâs supposed to have no connection to this revenge. You hateful guy⊠If you die, I will kill you!â
âHahaha.â Nathan closed his eyes, his smile not fading anytime soon. âI understand. Then, see you in a few months.â
