“What the hell are you doing, Sniper?! If your explanation doesn’t satisfy me, I don’t mind breaking the rule right now and beating you up!” Bell grabbed Sniper’s collar, glaring at him. “We have the perfect chance to kill him.

“Even though he is troublesome, we still have the power to defeat him. No, it’s because he’s troublesome that we have to eliminate him right away.”

“Stop it, Bell.” Bloody Fiend shook his head.

“You too?” Bell clenched his fists.

“You’re the only one who hasn’t seen through the entire scheme.” Bloody Fiend sighed. “Do you forget that both of them have space elements? The first one has a space element that can store things, while his fiancee has teleportation ability.

“If we take too long, the other group can come to us easily and kill us three. Alex and Soul can return to the village and kill those summoners and villagers, but we would have died, and those people might be able to teleport directly to the village.

“In the end, we fail. The three of us are dead as well. Father will be furious.”

Bell gritted his teeth. He couldn’t deny it, but it was frustrating. They should be able to win, so if they just had a bit more time, they might be able to do something. “Still, if that’s the case, shouldn’t he be chasing after us right now? Like buying time for his allies to come here…”

“Nevertheless, I know one thing. He still has another hidden plan. From the beginning, he had only summoned two familiars. He might have changed multiple familiars as his weapons, but he hasn’t shown us his Crystal Armor.

“Someone of his caliber should have no problem in manifesting the crystal armor, yet he didn’t.

“I could think of two possible reasons. The first one is that he is planning something and wants to use the crystal armor to catch us off guard. The second possibility is that he is suffering from something.

“If you look at it, the space element was so pathetic earlier. So, he might not be able to handle his power for the time being.

“Since I can’t figure it out, it’s better to retreat. Right now, the last thing we want is for one of us to die.”

Bell finally turned silent. Bloody Fiend asked, “So, what are we supposed to do next? It’s not like we can return to Father empty-handed.”

“Indeed.” Sniper nodded. “As much as I want to do something, we might have no other choice. We have to…”

Before he could utter the last word, he stopped and turned around, sensing an incoming presence. Sniper widened his eyes as he saw two figures heading straight to them.

“Soul, Alex!”

“!!!” Bloody Fiend and Bell widened their eyes.

“Why are you two here? Shouldn’t you be chasing after them?”

“That’s what I wanted to do, but…” Alex glanced at Soul.

Soul Devourer nodded. “I believe this is a trick. They’re luring us out. I had some suspicions the moment they were bringing us away in different directions. It looks like you have figured it out as well.”

Sniper confirmed. “Yes. Let me fill you in on everything that happened earlier…”

Soul and Alex listened carefully. It was clear that Nathan was indeed a hard target.

“I see.” Soul Devourer nodded in understanding. “You are not wrong in your decision to disengage.”

“Now that I think about it, why are the two of you here?” Sniper asked.

“I can sense something amiss. Their souls look like they’re fiercely facing me, but they actually are not. It feels like they’re wasting time. Our attack is supposed to be a sneak attack, so it’s weird that they don’t look surprised and a mess. It is as if they had received another instruction, which was why they were running away in the first place.

“If what you said about this guy is correct, then we should take down this guy first. His fiancee clearly trusted him a lot. But it’s even more amazing that he was able to convince that guy. Although I don’t know how he did it, what matters is the fact that he has done it.”

Sniper’s expression turned solemn. “But it has been a while since he left. He might have gone somewhere.”

“Do you know where he is going?” Soul frowned.

“No.”

“Nevertheless, we know that there is another party aiming for us. In that case, we should hunt them down and show why they fear us in the first place. Besides, Father said the time for us to reappear has almost arrived.”

“Really?” Sniper and the others were surprised and excited.

Soul nodded. “This is our first mission. Kill that guy and track down the organization behind him.”

“Understood. However, what if this is a trap?”

“Whether this is a trap or not doesn’t matter, we have regrouped, so we won’t split up anymore. Even if they are able to teleport and set up an ambush, we have enough people to kill them. Even if they gather more people, we are strong enough to escape.”

“I understand.” Sniper nodded. He took a deep breath before saying, “In that case, we will expand our search of the dynasty first, tracing back all his encounters. This guy is extremely mysterious, so we don’t have a lot of information about him.”

Soul agreed. “In that case, I will take the lead for this mission. Let’s work right away. We can’t disappoint Father.”

They nodded and disappeared into thin air.
