“It looks like the situation has grown quiet. Are they onto us?” Johnson crossed his arms. Because there was no response, he couldn’t help but raise his head and find Evelyn away from the table.

“Hmm?” Johnson saw Evelyn seemingly talking to someone.

After a moment, she returned.

“What are you doing?”

“I have told you that someone is contacting me. You nodded your head, so…” Evelyn tilted her head in confusion.

“Did I?” Johnson was perplexed.

“Yeah. You were probably too focused to even listen to me.” Evelyn shrugged. “Anyway, you mentioned earlier that the situation has grown quiet…”

“Indeed.”

“Since nothing is going on right now, I’m going to take a break for a few days. You don’t mind that, right?” Evelyn’s voice might sound calm, but there was a bit of an authoritative tone in it. In the end, she was their partner, not their subordinate.

“Of course.” Johnson didn’t know what was going on, but since they had nothing to do, it was fine to let her be. She had helped a lot after Nathan left here, so she deserved a break.

“By the way, has that guy gone forever? There is no information about him. I have been inquiring about my contacts in the empire, but there is no information about him other than the one happening a month ago.”

Evelyn obviously had heard about Nathan’s conflict with the second prince. Evelyn simply shrugged while turning around. “He is coming here.”

“Oh!” Johnson’s expression brightened. It looked like she was just happy to know that Nathan had finally come back.

Evelyn harrumphed and just exited the base, which was actually on the back of a cliff.

Seeing Evelyn rush like that put a smile on Johnson’s face. “Heh, youth…”

She used her teleportation to go to the Lindwurm marquisate, where they agreed to meet.

She covered herself and entered the inn to get a room.

“Excuse me. I want one room!”

There was a hooded person like her in front. And that person suddenly turned around, revealing a familiar face.

“!!!” Evelyn raised her eyebrows. “Nathan…”

“Ya!” Nathan waved his hand.

“…” Evelyn was completely speechless. “So, you have been here all along…”

Evelyn didn’t know that Nathan had already acquired a space element, so she thought she was going on foot when he suggested this place. It was probably the closest place to him.

“I just arrived.” Nathan waved his hand before grabbing the key handed to him. “By the way, this is a double room. If you don’t mind, that is.”

“That was how it used to be.” Evelyn nodded and reached out for her money back since she didn’t need to book a room anymore.

“It looks like there are a lot of things you want to ask me. Let’s go to the room first.” Nathan pointed up with his thumb.

“Yeah,” Evelyn agreed.

While walking, Evelyn couldn’t help but inspect Nathan’s current power, only to be shocked by his progress. It hadn’t been long since he left, but the amount of ena he had was something she couldn’t ignore anymore.

“Nathan. Your ena…”

“Oh, this. It’s only mine. My familiars are still stuck at 1 million, so I’m nowhere near the world class.” Nathan shook his head.

“Even so, you have gone through a lot. I have heard the report from others.” Evelyn let out a long sigh. “And here I am, only doing some useless things.”

“What are you talking about? You have done a lot of things. Without you taking charge of the matter in the dynasty, we probably won’t have any information from the dynasty.”

“I hope so.” Evelyn rolled her eyes, knowing how much her work was worth. It couldn’t be compared with Nathan’s contribution.

Nathan smiled wryly and grabbed her wrist. “Then…”

“What are you doing?” Evelyn was surprised that Nathan suddenly picked up the pace and rushed into the room.

Without saying anything, he just walked her to the bed and made her sit.

“The others have probably congratulated you through the communication rings…”

“Ah!” Evelyn realized why Nathan had picked this date. “I never really cared about my birthday since it reminded me how I used to live with my old family.”

Nathan was tongue-tied when Evelyn said such a heavy thing all of a sudden. He hurriedly changed the topic and took out a pendant. It had a beautiful blue jewel on it. “I don’t know much about you or what color you like. But, Happy Birthday, Evelyn. If this date always reminds you of the bad things in the past, then let’s just make good memories so that the past won’t bother you anymore.”

Evelyn felt bad. She had just said something too heavy when Nathan just wanted to sincerely congratulate her. “Sorry… and thank you, Nathan.”

“You don’t have to apologize. Like I said, let’s make a good memory.” Nathan smirked as if he had another plan.

Evelyn tilted her head in confusion. “Don’t tell me, you want me to pretend to be your fiancee again and have a date?”

“Well, that sounds good, but that’s not it.” Nathan shook his head. He took out a vial of medicine. “This is actually my real present.”

“What is that?” Evelyn frowned. “A drug?”

“It is not!” Nathan replied hurriedly. He definitely wanted to reject calling it a drug since it would just remind him of his parents on Earth. “It’s a medicine.”

“Medicine? For whom? I’m not sick.”

“This medicine will practically stop your ena for a few hours. And I have a new familiar that might be able to help with your current situation.

“Like I said, let’s just make a good memory. How about we start by making today the day for you to fix your elements?”

“!!!” Evelyn widened her eyes. Nathan didn’t look like he was lying. In the first place, Nathan wasn’t someone who would claim something without any careful consideration or enough proof.

If Nathan said it, he might have a high level of confidence that this medicine would succeed.

Evelyn started to feel really bad. Nathan had been working even harder than she thought. A medicine that could work even for a world-class summoner like her was definitely not a normal medicine. It might not even appear on the market.

She couldn’t help but look down, muttering, “This is… not fair.”
