He folded his coat and placed it on the sofa, then Jiang Yisheng sat down next to him, "Are you here to see Jiuliang?"
Skipping his question, Ji Mingqian pointed at Li Mochan and complained, "You have to mediate for me, he said I have a bad personality and even said I look just passable."
"Pff."
Jiang Yisheng almost burst into laughter at first reaction but quickly regained composure and hastily concealed his smile.
"Cousin doesnât remember anything, donât take it to heart."
Ji Mingqian looked towards Li Mochan and huffed coldly.
He actually felt that he wasnât amnesic at all; his mean streak was just as annoying as ever.
Jiang Yisheng asked, "Are you here to get your backpack?"
Ji Mingqian glanced sideways at him, a look that was both smiling and not, "Sort of, why, are you afraid Iâll mooch off your familyâs meals and want me to grab my backpack and then quickly leave?"
Jiang Yisheng felt a random urge to laugh and hadnât even opened his mouth when the person opposite spoke up first, "Whereâs the backpack, give it to him."
Ji Mingqian gritted his teeth, "Li Mochan."
He thought he couldnât detect the implication in his words, didnât he? It was nothing but a hint for him to grab his backpack and leave quickly.
Li Mochan gave him a sidelong glance, his challenging demeanor extremely intense.
Seeing that the two seemed about to get into a fight, Jiang Yisheng hurriedly tried to defuse the tension, "Cousinâs just joking, donât take it seriously."
"Mingqian, you should stay here for the next few days," Mrs. Jiang said enthusiastically. "Itâs more lively with more people, and you wonât need to find a hotel to stay."
Ji Mingqian shot a glance at Jiang Yisheng, his tone slightly troubled, "But Yisheng wonât let me stay, he said the rooms are all full and thereâs no place for me."
Jiang Yisheng, "..."
Just knew there wouldnât be any nice words coming out of his mouth, this guy who sets people up.
"Mom, I..."
"Be quiet."
Veya glared at him and then immediately beamed a smile at Ji Mingqian when she turned her head, "Donât listen to Asheng, there are plenty of rooms here, you can stay as long as you want."
"Then thank you, Auntie, for the bother," Ji Mingqian quickly agreed.
The next second, Li Mochan said pointedly, "Knowing youâre a bother, why donât you leave?"
"Li Mochan, when I see Ajiu later, Iâm definitely going to tell her about your misdeeds," Ji Mingqianâs face darkened as he said through gritted teeth.
Li Mochan ignored him with indifference.
During dinner, Ye Jiuliang was still nowhere to be seen.
Pushing open the room door, it was silent inside.
The wall lamp cast a dim, soft light.
Li Mochan looked at the sleeping girl on the bed, somewhat reluctant to wake her up.
In a moment of hesitation, a gentle voice suddenly rang out.
"Mohan."
Ye Jiuliang, with sleepy eyes, looked towards him, stretching out her hand, her slender arm pale and luminous.
Li Mochan reached out to gather her up, "Itâs time to eat."
With hair sticking out in every direction, nestled into his chest, Ye Jiuliang murmured, "I want to eat spicy boiled pork slices."
The spicier, the better.
"Iâll take you out to eat tomorrow," Li Mochan chuckled, agreeing without any hesitation.
Ye Jiuliangâs smile was radiant, "You said it."
Li Mochan hummed in acknowledgment, settled her back onto the bed, and turned to get her clothes.
Looking at the neatly arranged clothes in the wardrobe, Li Mochan glanced down at his own attire and slightly raised an eyebrow in contemplation.
Eventually, he picked a set of black loungewear.
The style, the color, matched his own attire perfectly.
"Some annoying person came earlier," Li Mochan passed the clothes to her, his voice betraying nothing.
"An annoying person?" On hearing this, Ye Jiuliang gave him an inquisitive look.
"Who?"
"Ji Mingqian." Li Mochan handed her socks and shoes, his voice carrying a hint of dislike when he said the name.
Ye Jiuliang was surprised, "Aqian came."
Why did this guy suddenly show up? Is the trial with K Organization over?
Seeing the smile at the corner of her lips, Li Mochanâs eyes lowered, and his deep voice was tinged with a hint of jealousy, "Youâre happy that heâs here?"
Wow, the smell of vinegar is strong.
Ye Jiuliang gave a sly smile and put on her last shoe, "Of course Iâm happy."
Li Mochan felt jealous and stood in front of her, displaying a rare bit of childishness, "Happier to see him than to see me?"
Ye Jiuliang burst into laughter, her hand on her chin, and looked him over with interest, "Well, I might have to think about that."
Hearing her say she needed to think, Li Mochanâs face darkened, and he said fiercely, "Donât think. Answer now."
"Are you jealous?" Ye Jiuliang teased, smiling suggestively at him.
Li Mochan replied without hesitation, "Yes."
Watching him maintain a serious face, Ye Jiuliang laughed so hard she bent at the waist. Only Li Mochan could be so righteously jealous.
Changing the subject, Ye Jiuliang pulled him towards the door, "Iâm hungry. Letâs go have dinner."
She tugged a couple of times, but the person behind her refused to budge.
Ye Jiuliang looked back at him, her eyes lifting slightly, "Whatâs wrong?"
His gaze was heavy as he watched her, "Answer."
Ye Jiuliang, amused by his stubborn tone, took two steps back, closing the distance between them.
"Seeing you makes me the happiest. Is that good enough?"
"Youâre being perfunctory."
"Then whatâs considered not perfunctory?" Ye Jiuliang was amused as she raised her hand to pinch his face, "Surely I shouldnât go downstairs and beat him up, right?"
Li Mochan nodded, "Good."
"..."
She was joking, did he really have to take it so seriously?
After her Lord Li lost his memory, he seemed even more likely to overturn the vinegar pot.
Ye Jiuliang tiptoed and lifted her head to lightly peck his lips.
"Thatâs not perfunctory, right?"
Li Mochanâs face warmed, "Barely acceptable."
In the dining room, everyone had gathered together.
Chandeliers hanging overhead refracted soft light as elegant figures moved back and forth.
Ji Mingqian watched the person across from him set out the bowls and chopsticks, his lips curving into a roguish smile.
"Need help?"
Jiang Yisheng looked up, her light green eyes sparkling with laughter, "No need, itâs all ready."
Leaving two seats next to each other for Li Mochan and his company, Jiang Yisheng sat down next to the empty spot beside Ji Mingqian.
"What happened to your hand?" As soon as she sat down, Jiang Yishengâs attention was drawn to the wound on his hand.
Ji Mingqian glanced at his injured arm and said casually, "Just a scratch, itâs nothing."
It was not surprising to get a few injuries while leading a trial a few days ago.
This is just a scratch?
Jiang Yisheng frowned, her crimson lips parted slightly, but hesitated before speaking.
Hearing footsteps, Ji Mingqian turned to look back; Li Mochan and Ye Jiuliang had arrived.
"Ajiu."
Ye Jiuliang looked at him, "When did you arrive, and you didnât even say anything?"
"Donâtâ I was afraid if I said something first, your man there would chase me out with a broom," Ji Mingqian said, glancing at Li Mochan.
Laughter broke out.
"With your size, it might take a bit of effort to chase you out," Ye Jiuliang joked.
Ji Mingqian, "..."
What an ungrateful guy. He had been concerned she might be upset about Li Mochanâs memory loss and had rushed back to see her, only to find she was still as cavalier about friendship in the face of romance.
A table full of dishes that made oneâs mouth water.
Ye Jiuliangâs eyes lingered on the plate of hairy crabs, her craving intense.
