Chapter 221: Chapter 221: Both of Them Have Problems
Renee Jennings smiled at Potato. "Itâs true. Do you have any wishes?"
Potato blinked his eyes curiously. "Whyâre you asking about my wish?"
"Iâm collecting wishes from animals. I might be able to help make them come true," Renee Jennings explained.
Potato opened his mouth wide, his tongue lolling out, and gave a happy woof. "My wish is for Mommy to always be with me. Can you please tell her for me?"
Renee Jennings smiled and nodded. "Of course."
She told LycheeSoda Potatoâs wish.
Upon hearing this, a gentle smile warmed LycheeSodaâs expression.
She reached out to stroke Potatoâs big, fluffy head and asked with a laugh, "You love me that much? Then how come youâve been sticking to your daddy so much lately?"
Potato: "Because I was curious..."
Renee Jennings speared a piece of watermelon and began to eat. Rhea Dempsey had just brought it to her.
But she choked after just a few bites.
"COUGH..."
Rhea Dempsey quickly pulled out a tissue, handed it to her, and patted her back.
Renee Jenningsâs face was flushed red from choking, and tears welled up in her eyes.
After she recovered, she looked at the Golden Retriever on her phone screen and asked in disbelief, "Is what you just said true?"
[Huh? Somethingâs up!]
[Thereâs definitely some gossip! Iâm so excited!]
[Got my popcorn. Ready and waiting~]
Potato nodded his head. "Of course itâs true. Mommy said weâre not supposed to lie."
Renee Jenningsâs gaze fell on LycheeSodaâs face. Suddenly, she didnât know how to begin.
She pursed her lips and hesitated before asking, "Lizzie, can I ask how long youâve been married?"
LycheeSoda frowned slightly, not knowing why Renee Jennings would suddenly ask this, but it wasnât a secret, so she answered truthfully, "Weâve been married for over a year. Why?"
[Is there a problem with Lizzieâs husband?]
[Could it be... her husband cheated?]
[Thereâs definitely something fishy going on. Iâm sure the host wouldnât ask about someoneâs private life for no reason.]
LycheeSoda saw the bullet comments, and a flicker of displeasure crossed her face. "My husband and I have a great relationship. I hope everyone will stop speculating. My husband doesnât even have any female friends."
After speaking, she asked Renee Jennings, "Host, why did you suddenly ask me that question? The viewers are already starting to wildly speculate."
"Lizzie, please donât worry. Iâll explain in a moment," Renee Jennings said in a gentle tone. "Have you had a guest come to stay with you recently?"
"Yes," LycheeSoda nodded. "Itâs my husbandâs younger cousin. He just came to Zenvia to start his career and is still looking for a place, so heâs staying with us for now."
She lowered her gaze, a little confused.
âHow did the host know we had a guest over? Could Potato have told her?â
"Did your husband tell you that person was his cousin?" Renee Jennings asked, raising an eyebrow slightly.
LycheeSoda: "Yes, is there a problem?"
"There is indeed a problem," Renee Jennings said lightly. "Has your husband been acting any differently toward you lately?"
"He hasnât been acting strange," LycheeSoda said, confused. "You said thereâs a problem. Donât tell me itâs my husbandâs cousin whoâs the problem?"
A grave look entered Renee Jenningsâs eyes. "Your husband, and your husbandâs cousin... thereâs a problem with both of them."
"What?" LycheeSodaâs brow furrowed, her face full of confusion. "Host, what on earth are you trying to say?"
[I think I know whatâs going on...]
[I get it now too!]
[This is so tragic.]
LycheeSoda stared at the bullet comments, her expression turning ugly. Her voice grew heavy. "Why are you being so cryptic? Host, are you doing this on purpose?"
Seeing her sudden outburst, Potato shrank to the side in fear.
"That man isnât your husbandâs cousin at all," Renee Jennings said slowly. "Heâs your husbandâs ex."
An ex?
LycheeSodaâs expression froze. Her eyelashes trembled, and her lips moved but no sound came out. She seemed to be on the verge of collapsing, drowning in a wave of shock.
[Sigh, I guessed right!]
[LycheeSoda is so beautiful, what a complete waste on her husband!]
[Her husbandâs got some nerve, bringing his Number Three home.]
LycheeSoda snapped out of it and stared at Renee Jennings, saying word by word, "Thatâs impossible. Youâre lying."
"I wish it werenât true either," Renee Jennings sighed softly. "This is what Potato told me. He said that when you go out, the two of them go into the shower together..."
LycheeSoda trembled all over as she listened, her eyes turning red.
She pressed her lips together and shook her head, on the verge of a breakdown. "Impossible, I donât believe it..."
LycheeSoda carefully recalled the details of how her husband and his "cousin" had been interacting recently. Her tears flowed faster and faster as she choked out, "Why?! Why would this happen?"
She and Zane Lee had been introduced by their elders. She had been very happy with him, not because of his handsome looks or his high-paying job, but because he was so charming and gentlemanly.
Before meeting Zane Lee, LycheeSoda had been on a few blind dates, but each one had ended because of the menâs inappropriate advances.
But Zane Lee wasnât like those other men with their minds in the gutter.
He was very respectful of her, especially when it came to physical contact.
He had even waited until after they officially registered their marriage to touch her.
She had been proud of that, feeling that in this day and age, it was truly rare to find a man as upright as Zane Lee.
But now, the more she thought back on it, the more wrong it all felt.
âWas he really such a perfect gentleman?â
Renee Jennings had said enough and didnât press further. "Lizzie, take some time to calm down. Iâm going to disconnect our call for now. If you need any help, just reach out to me."
"Thank you," LycheeSoda said quietly.
Renee Jennings disconnected the call. Looking at the viewersâ bullet comments, she had a helpless expression on her face. "Itâs really hard to comment on the behavior of some gay men. They want to have their cake and eat it too, without any regard for the womanâs feelings."
[Exactly! If they want to date men, they should date men. No one has a problem with that. But they canât commit marriage fraud!!!]
[Actually, Iâm a victim of a gay husband too. Iâm divorced now. I had no idea when we were dating. It was only after we got married and had a child that he started to show his true colors...]
[This makes me so angry. Itâs basically just tricking a woman into having kids for you!]
Renee Jennings quietly watched the bullet comments. When more and more people started asking her to connect with the next person, she finally said softly, "Alright, letâs connect to our third caller."
"WorryFree" successfully connected.
A young woman appeared in the split-screen. A man stood behind her, and the two seemed to be arguing.
Before Renee Jennings could even speak, a manâs voice came through her phone.
"If itâs gone, itâs gone! Canât I just buy you a new one after I make some money? Do you really have to keep harping on about it?"
"Stop talking!" WorryFree realized she had connected to the livestream and immediately stopped her partner from saying more. "I was just trying to connect, I didnât think it would actually go through!"
"What are you talking about?" Her partner leaned closer to the screen and asked suspiciously, "Over a hundred thousand viewers? What kind of livestream did you connect to?"
WorryFree explained, "This is a magical livestream. The host is amazing."
